Photos are ridiculously small in mobile UI

in Report a Bug
Hello,
iPhone/Safari user here. What is this blank area I’ve marked with red in order to get your attention?
And why is the Wayspot image as small as a stamp?? Stretch the images to fill the blank space, just like the map is stretched to edges you know? Now it’s just terrible UX.
Hardware:
iPhone 14 pro 512GB
iOS 16.4.1

To be clear, this is happened after nomination addresses (that was previously just below main photo) are back @NianticTintino @NianticOren @Nianthib
Yes and no, the excessive horizontal spacing has been a landmark of terrible responsive UI-design for a long time already, but the address certainly made it even worse. They should fully stretch the image to fit the frame so wayfarers don’t have to be clicking zoom with every reviewed nomination in order to see what they’re actually reviewing.
It is. However the return of nomination addresses just make it worse.
@NianticAaron can this issue be addressed ASAP?
Hello??? @NianticAaron @NianticOren
Hello @daawg-ING,
Thank for sharing. I've send it to the team to look into. We'll keep you posted about any updates.
Safe Exploring!
The happens because Niantic allows nominators to use any sized picture they want.
Some cameras take odd dimensions, and/or we can crop outrageously if we want.
Pictures are shown on Wayfarer as submitted. Then each game crops it as it sees fit. (For ingress, this usually means chopping the heads off statues.)
You are mistaken, it's a textbook issue of bad responsive web design. The layout can adapt to dimensions if done correctly, in fact it's trivial to implement.
