Correct, you won't need to reset it to participate. The new setting will automatically turned on so you'll just need to log on the day of and start reviewing.
Not sure I understand what you are asking but if I'm assuming correctly, you'll have a Bonus Location reset after the challenge as well. If that doesn't answer your question let me know.
If there's a switch to participate in the challenge, why are you allowing people to switch locations at the beggining of the challenge?
Aren't you worried that some people might behave like they did during the Indonesian one and start reviewing in some place not related at all to the challenge?
Great question. Just like our Ambassadors mentioned, setting your Bonus Location to Spain will help you reach the goals slightly faster now that you have Bonus Location and Wayfarer Challenge feeding you nominations. We hope that by giving you another reset at the end will help discourage from setting it elsewhere for two weeks before resetting it again.
tbh most ppl dont know ANYWAY what these settings mean. You have inherited a system that noone understands. What do those two locations mean? Hometown? Bonus-Location? Also, @NianticTintino-ING did someone tell you that the PLAY location is also noted by the system? My ingress location is my constant play-location and overrides the PGO play-location. *insert confused smiley*
Even as a seasoned player i am constantly having problems understanding these settings.
On the Putney hand, allowing a reset of the bonus location at the beginning and also at the end is the action that can allow people to review in a place not related at all to whatever challenge is running at the time.
Let's make it clear, I think that the changes are great and in the right direction, I'm trying to point out a possible loophole based on the Indonesia challenge.
Next time you log in, you may see the new Wayfarer Challenge setting in your Settings tab. Don't be alarmed, the challenge did not start and it's not fully active yet. Feel free to leave it as is (although tempting to play with) and once the challenge starts, you'll start seeing nominations from Spain in your reviewing 🇪🇦
I apologize if it’s already been mentioned but the timing of this challenge again coincides with a popular PoGo event - last time community day, this time Shadow M2 raid weekend. This time also coincides with Ingress First Saturday..
Next challenge can we get scheduled during a slow/low-intensity period for events?
Unfortunately there are so many events that it is not possible to schedule Wayfarer completely around it. Since the Wayfarer Challenge goes for more than one week, you can still join at a later stage and won't miss out!
None of in-game events (including weekend events like Community Days) are in a bigger scale like GO Fests and GO Tours. You can just chill while participating in Wayfarer challenge this time.
I'm sorry if you had irl businesses and/or other in-game events outside of Niantic games happened at the same time that would hinder you for participating, though...
I'm sorry but with a two weeks event (Global Reviewer Challenge) why some people can't have daily 15-20 min to review if there's something to do in the weekend IRL? I can understand a big event that you need some days to move to another site and come back, but events that you can play with your local community shouldn't impact so big IMO...
If this started 6/11 it wouldn’t conflict with any major Niantic events. Yes we can manage but I’m raising this point now in an effort that future Wayfarer events be scheduled with better planning. Smells similar to the Christmas Eve and Easter raid days that went over like a lead balloon.
By having the longer time the hope is that there is time for people to dip in and out around different game events and their own personal commitments. Often the weekends when there is less game activity I will arrange other stuff.

Please remove my Bonus Location in Indonesia then and leave it blank/none since before the Indonesia Challenge I had no Bonus Location.
Could we at least have Pokecoins and CMU for our work?
Niantic does not want to give out any rewards that are worth while.
Correct, you won't need to reset it to participate. The new setting will automatically turned on so you'll just need to log on the day of and start reviewing.
Thanks for your feedback. We'll make sure it's visible in other areas outside the community forums.
What if it's 2.5/10? haha just kidding. It'll be much higher than that.
Not sure I understand what you are asking but if I'm assuming correctly, you'll have a Bonus Location reset after the challenge as well. If that doesn't answer your question let me know.
You'll be able to reset your Bonus Location at the beginning of the challenge and then again at the end of the challenge.
If there's a switch to participate in the challenge, why are you allowing people to switch locations at the beggining of the challenge?

You could switch your Bonus Location to Spain and get even more nominations from there I would think.
Also, a location reset was promised each challenge so it’s also fulfilling that.
Another workaround if they won't do this would be to set your bonus location to your area you play in, because then it just gets ignored

Why not add another switch toggle?
;)
The reset at the end of the event should be enough to fulfill properly the promise.

New button, must press.
Was talking about this thread, a special after-event weekend to bounce around places and see where we want to set the bonus location next.

@NianticTintino-ING Islas Baleares e Islas Canarias están incluidas en el desafío?
The area covered will include islands and other territories.

...or you're still under ToTK hype.
The thing is rather that this is the same company. This isnt a Rock-Concert. This isnt a new love interest. Not Grannys Birthday.
Niantic is the same company that plans the Events for Pokemon Go, and that other game. THIS is the same playerbase(workforce).
Scheduling a Wayfarer Event that moves on for several days would be ideal in times when Niantic has the usual c*.
They had 3 weeks of Not-Even-mediocre "Event" with the 3 Teamleaders. THAT would have been an ideal time to do a Wayfarer Event.
Niantic just shoots themselves into the foot.

Starting on June 11th, for two weeks would avoid major Niantic events?
How so?
It overlaps Ingress First Saturday too - which is a local event so absolutely fine.

I understand that many people are hyped with Shadow Mewtwo can be battled in raids and can be shiny, seems fair for me.
However you can't guarantee if there are any 'free time' for GO players, especially that we don't know what Niantic would offer at next Season.
