My pokestop nomination was accepted, but does not appear in my game

I have 2 accepted locations for Pokémon go and it has been over a month now since they were accepted. A clear answer would be appreciated, because the implied incentive of taking my time to provide location data, descriptions, photos, completing the tutorial for niantic wayfarer, etc etc is a location reviewed by other trainers and accepted will become a pokestop in game within 48 hours... So who can I contact to get help on getting these up and why does it take so long?
Also would like to know my time here is not being wasted and that my submissions aren’t used for anything else when my submissions are not being used for Pokemon Go as well.

You are not submitting a "Pokestop," but you are submitting a Wayspot that may be used in Pokemon GO. However, not all Wayspots are used by Pokemon GO because they do not meet the gameboard's spacing rules. But Wayspots may be used in other games depending on those games' spacing rules.
@TheFarix-PGO I used the “new pokestop” button within the Pokémon go app, and then I submitted a Pokéstop through the prompts given. I’m not sure I understand why it is submitting something for a game other than Pokémon go. How can I fix this?
You can’t fix it. All you can do from now on is learn the cell system so this doesn’t happen to you again. Pokémon only allows one pokestop to show up in a cell. (Google s2 cells Pokémon go).
This is working as intended. We have asked for many years for the Pokemon GO development team to change the language to make it clear that players are submitting a Wayspot instead of a Pokestop, but they have so far refused claiming that it "breaks immersion".
Ouch!!! Well that ruins all motivation for me to review and contribute now honestly. Very dissatisfied with niantic on this but I guess it’s expected that there has to be a gimmick.
@ProGoJake-PGO
if you are happy to share the name of the wayspot and the location (co ordinates work best) I will happily check and give an explanation.

I heard about that but they need to work on that for this specific location. It’s in a community park
They’re not going to change their worldwide spacing rules for one park. Every location on earth is subject to the cell rules.
is this about Boardman Park?
This is how it looks regarding cells
The crossed off cells are already occupied so no more allowed by Pokémon Go
The issue is a lack of transparency in what the Pokémon Go team are leading you to believe. You are nominating something that may become a pokestop. There is no guarantee. The stage where you get the email is the end point of wayfarer involvement. Your nomination became a wayspot and entered the independent Lightship database.
You were not told about the next stage.
Each game sets its own rules as to what it will take from Lightship to use in that particular game.
For Pokémon Go the rules revolve around the use of some mapping software commonly referred to as S2 cells it breaks down the surface into smaller and smaller cells - each size is referred to as level and a number.
Google: S2 cells and Pokémon Go - Pokémongohub has a very good explanation.
The key is that in Pokémon Go only accepts 1 wayspot in each Level 17 cell, so if there is already a pokestop or gym in the game, in that cell, yours will not be selected to enter Pokémon Go.
You get no notification to say your nomination has become a pokestop.
There is work to do in order to understand the whole system. If you do you will have the satisfaction of playing with pokestops you made. If you don’t it will be very frustrating.
Communication is not a Niantic strong point, but as a Go player you already know that 🤔
thank you much for this! I will try to get some stops in open cells.
In terms on getting these community parks an exception to that rule would be something that could get more people out and meeting new trainers.
At the time I use my upgrade in wayfarer they know whether an approved Pokestop is already in the s2 cell and should not let us waste our upgrade which took several hours of reviewing time to earn. I’ve reviewed 666 nominations and had 3 upgrades earned. It’s ridiculous.
They leave the rules and submissions process nebulous ON PURPOSE because it helps them gather more free data for their other games from unsuspecting customers. It’s totally wrong and a bad way to do business.
Ain't gonna happen. These have been the spacing rules since the beginning of the game in 2016. The only time they break these rules are for Niantic In Person events like GO Fest, Safari Zone, or maybe a large Play! Pokemon tournament. You're better off learning the cell rules than dreaming about changes to the system.
Many of the WF Ambassadors will tell you not to worry about the cells and just nominate interesting things. Sometimes that because they also play Ingress or are looking forward to whatever new games Nia has coming in future. I'm primarily a PGO player and I nominate exclusively for PGO. I pay attention to the cells and place things (accurately) within those to improve PGO. The only time I worry about adding what will be a "hidden" POI is if the current POI is something that might be removed down the road. Murals get painted over, businesses close, etc. It takes so long for things to be approved around me, that having a back up already in place makes me feel better about cleaning up the board when things need to be removed.
@ProGoJake-PGO
They won’t change the spacing.
it is worth making a plan. Find the things in the park that could make good wayspots and how you will describe them and plan the use of the cells and then make nominations.
For some reason one of our small local parks has been flagged for community days - there is very little there I’m trying to get a third stop added but it’s proving tricky. So I understand about trying to get these to be better places.
I’m one of the Ambassadors that doesn’t pay attention to cells 👋
Lovely area!
wow that is awful!!! Or atleast point contributors to these cells before nominating and especially before upgrading. Did you ever get the upgrades back?
Thank you for the info, I will take all of this into considerations. Still feels odd that they don’t add a small boost. Is there a way to share this feedback to the team that decides on the spacing cells?
Awe I just noticed the cell map is not correct either… there are dots in places that do not have a pokestop. Any reason behind that? The one looks like the memorial bench I submitted but it is not in pogo
The map uses Ingress portals. Ingress has a different proximity rule to Pokémon Go. Instead of using cells, a new portal cannot be created if it's within 20 metres of an existing portal. As a result of this, some Wayspots appear in Pokémon Go but don't appear in Ingress. That being said though, whilst the portals on that map may not all appear in Pokémon Go, if they're in an occupied cell, then that cell should still be occupied by a wayspot in Pokémon Go.
There are more in Lightship that are not even used in Ingress
Sheesh, well imma get to work on getting my park fixed up to optimize the S2 grid
