Well, most regular reviewers are now in Indonesia. But, upgrades aren't working properly at the moment. They are going to let us know when the issue is resolved.
Yep, frequency might vary due to how far you would be from the end of queue. Would be more efficient to move them though, 3 movements to each capital city.
Just curious if it will be the entire country, it took a little bit in Spain. We have around 5500 cities here. It would be nice if all of those that have something in voting got some love, if it were only Rio and São Paulo we would be devastated. lol
Good news! I just had 6 nominations that were upgraded over two weeks ago go through in the last 30 minutes so they must've fixed the system. 6 down 7 to go lmao.
I'm pretty sure I've hit T3 of the personal rewards, but seeing there's so few who have qualified makes me second guess whether I've actually made it or if my counter undercounted me. Would be nice to be able to see where I stand in your records.
I have to imagine that upgrades are going to be less effective right now when all the reviewers are being diverted away from their home countries. If you're a submitter in a non-challenge country you should probably expect upgrades to return to their regular effectiveness a bit after the challenge is done as your local reviewers return home and work through the two week backlog.
You would be surprised how fast they will still go through if they fixed whatever bug there was. I remember when they had some challenge that gave out 10 upgrades a year or so ago I thought the same thing but it did not slow anything down at all. And FYI there is an add-on that will show you all your voting history on the main page below your stats. It is not the easiest way to keep track of how many you have reviewed but would take about five minutes to count. Shows how you voted and you could even go as far as going back and looking down the road to see if it is on the map so you can see how your vote panned out.
How can we find out how many nominations we have done for the challenge? I've kept a tally online but one on Wayfarer would be nice to know exactly how much I have done. If there is no way, Niantic should def add this as a feature.
I mean, I would think it should naturally follow that if people see less local submissions, local submissions will be processed slower. The converse of that implies that people still get enough local submissions to process your local submission speedily, which is nice for people trying to use upgrades during a challenge but that's not what the people doing reviews during a challenge want to see.
I did suspect that we were going to run out of spanish submissions just from some napkin math from the earlier numbers update. Actually, just doing some estimates with generous upper bounds on the numbers from tintino's numbers here, I'd say the upper range on the possible average number of reviews per submission is about 20-25, which in conjunction with the total participant count means there needs to be about 400k submissions available for every participant to hit the 500th review. Of course not everyone is going to even try for that but the expansion of regions was definitely necessary if we were running out of spanish submissions at the 41k mark
I tell my kids they can either grab a pencil and piece of paper and sit next to me while I review marking how many I have done or do chores. Has worked out great and I know exactly how many I have reviewed but the house is starting to get a little messy.
Indonesian challenge was kind of a fail as you recieved the awards only after one nomination you voted for was resolved. There must be a lot of nominations remaining there.
I’m on the same boat, I was pretty convinced I reached T3, now I’m not so sure. Only 95…?
BTW, you we’re absolutely right, we almost run out of Spanish nominations. After the numbers from the Indonesia Challenge, I never thought we’ll pass the 40k resolved records. I still find it hard to believe 😂 but I’m so glad we did.
Yeah I was a bit concerned about what we'd do for the people who hadn't hit their quotas yet because the napkin math from the numbers tintino was posting looked like we'd need spain to have a crazy backlog if we wanted to have enough things to review for everyone. Side effects of that problem were good for spain, and we got a fair backup plan so all's good
I decided it wasn't worth it to explain how challenges work to a brand new account that was created just to complain about something they don't have any experience with. You're never going to please everyone. The fact that Wayfinders who have been around for previous challenges and will still be around for future ones understand why this shift happened is enough to know the right decision was made.
While over than 40k nominations resolved in under a week? That's already higher compared to previous Wayfarer challenges.
I give you a question: if Spanish backlog has been completely dried up and nothing left to review before the challenge end, what would you offer to ~15.000 reviewers not reaching 50 individual reviews yet? Constant loading between reviews and fewer Spanish nominations to review are signs that the backlog is running out.
God have mercy on the nominations in Brazil. The indications here are pretty ordinary (a lot of benchs, small parks) so please have some compassion in your hearts 'cause a lot of the indications won't have that pleasant aesthetic and a lot of people dont know how to take good photos (u guys will prob see a lot of decentralized pics) and a lot of small town who doesn't have street view. I see a wave off declined indications comming.
One more thing. It'll will sound strange but "low budget churchs" (or other religious places) are a lot commum here, like a franchise to say so, you'll see that a lot of them is near each other and that actually common here kkkkk so if you saw a normal house with some plate with a cross on it, yep if found a brasilean church, here some pictures to how it usually looks:

If I leave my bonus location in Spain and get Spanish reviews will those still count to the challenge totals?
Similar to Spain, only the nominations from the country made within the timeframe will count.

your beta testers in New Zealand and Australia would love some attention
But will I get more reviews from that location? I want to maximise my reviews from the challenge location without having to keep changing it.
Oof then, but thanks anyway. Hope I can catch up with individual rewards since I got advantage here.

Looks like I have to offer this again:
But since I've joined Wayfarer Discussion Discord server this time, feel free to ask me anything or ping me there in addition of this forum.

Why not add Italy and Taiwan instead of countries that already had a challenge? That makes no sense
up
Just like Spain, all of the country will be reviewed.

The thing he said applies to the brazil and india challenges too, not just indonesia.

Absolutely unfair. Spain should enjoy full time the event as the other countries did in the past. There are still so many reviews to offer!
I'd be happy if they helped to resolve 42,000 submissions in the UK.

Thank you! Needed this to get tier 3

I'd love to see South Africa or Nigeria be the next new country chosen after all is said and done.
We're switching regions explicitly because we're running low on things to review
