Exclusive New Pokémon GO Feature Comes to Explorers - Routes Creation - Discussion

Hello Explorers,
We have some exciting news that is nothing like what you have seen before in the Wayfarer Community. As we continue to find ways to highlight our community across Niantic, sharing how amazing your contributions are, we wanted to include a select number of you in a very exclusive feature launching in Pokémon GO that’ll take Wayspots to a new level.
As soon as today, we’re inviting a select group of Explorers, like yourself, that play Pokémon GO to be the first to try this feature before it launches globally. While we can’t reveal the full details just yet, we can promise you this new, immersive experience allows you to build your own adventure and share it with the world!
This new feature—called Routes—allows you to create and publish pre-set paths for other Trainers to follow. Show off your favorite local vista, take Trainers to the best spots to catch Pokémon, or lead others on a restaurant tour of your town. The possibilities are endless!
Select Explorers that play Pokémon GO have been granted exclusive early access to Routes, so they’ll be able to access this feature starting today! To begin, open Pokémon GO and navigate to your Trainer Profile. Locate the new Created Routes section, then tap the Create New Route button. You will then be able to view the tutorial and get started!
You can view the tutorial again by tapping the question mark icon at the top-left corner of the screen while creating a Route. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the worldwide launch of this feature, and your input can help us refine certain details. By creating Routes, you ensure your Pokémon GO community has a robust experience at launch.
Selected Explorers who participate during the early-access period may be selected to have their experience amplified on our official social media channels once Routes has launched globally. Not only will your contributions directly help your local Pokémon GO community, but we also hope that by highlighting your contributions, we can inspire our community the world over!
This new feature will be rolling out to more and more Explorers leading up to global launch. This will include Explorers who have been a member since March 1, 2023, so keep your eyes on that inbox! Thank you for being a part of Routes early access and helping make Pokémon GO the best it can be!

Safe Exploring!

Give this a like as you start using the feature to easily track how many here are participating!
select meeee!!!!!!!
Selected participants should be receiving an email, so check appropriate inboxes (Promotions, etc).
If you have a spot left, little me would be very happy to test the new feature!
I'd love to be selected to test this.
I’m excited for this, but concerned that routs will require a human to review/approve them. They claim they’ll be approved/denied within 24 hours, but I just don’t see how that’ll be possible based on my experience with Wayfarer…
This is the way best Feature that comes to PoGo since a very long time. Can't wait to create some Routes through my Hood 🥳
From what I have heard, they will go directly to Niantic for review. In theory, they already have the know-how with Ingress missions that are similar to what Routes seem to be. Missions have been in the game for ages and are decided on quickly. Sure, maybe not 24 hours, most take a few days, but if Niantic puts more people on the review team, it's possible to hit.
What I wonder if the Routes go to the same people/team that also handle Missions for Ingress. @NianticTintino-ING Is that something you can share with us? If that's the case, it may be my cue to submit some more missions before Routes go live :D
These are similar to Ingress missions?
These are Missions from Ingress.
It is not exclusive when Ingress has had this feature for several years.
Missions are great in Ingress
I don't know how well it will be received by pgo players
This sounds like an awesome idea. This will make stops way more interesting (this obviously based on my imagination how it's going to be).
Lol, we've already laughed about all the routes that will go straight up mountains. "Cairn Route 1," "Cairn Route 2," "Cairn Route 489."
Btw, I have no idea who was selected for this feature.
I’m a lv11 ingress player & I almost never do missions/routes. It involves a lot of walking, going from point to point, sometimes across the entire city. I hope the rewards scale well though. If anything it’ll at least get people out walking more
In my own opinion, I'd say very loosely inspired.
I wish it was closer to Missions.
Where do I go to leave feedback on the feature? Specifically, in the tutorial there was a placeholder where the minimum and maximum length should have been.
You're missing out on one of the best and fun aspects of Ingress
I have the functionality enabled, and have toyed with what I can while working from home - but tonight I'm scheduled to go for a walk in the park with a friend and am so excited to try this out live!
Excited to get started on this, but a few questions before I get carried away:
Thanks in advance for the help!
I have 20K agreements. Was not chosen. No one from my local community was. Why am I not surprised?
Hopefully the rest of us get the opportunity to check this out sooner rather than later.
Not a good feeling to be left out.
My feedback as far as i can give at 9:00 P.M without walking around at night:
Me not reading carefully how to access the feature, have looked in settings --> Uploads where the PokeStop nomination button is located as that seemed the "right" place for such a feature.
Even refreshed Game Data and switched to a different device to make it show up... Before re-reading the post and noticing that the feature is in the trainer profile🙈
Maybe this is only stupid me, but i would find the button to create a new route better suited in the settings --> uploads menu, where the "create new PokéStop" button is.
*I'm in.* I've been anticipating this feature for years.
My boyfriend and I were both chosen!! I'm so excited because I've been waiting for years for this! I already planned out 7 routes and cannot WAIT to get out and play today.
No such luck for me, which is a shame as I kinda wanted to try it out haha.
I hope all of you who got chosen are having fun playing about with it and are able to provide good feedback on anything that needs improving :)
I was fortunate enough to be given access to the new feature. I have been out and created my first route and I have to say I really like this feature. Anyone who enjoys nominating wayspots will love this. I don't see any safety issues personally as it seems like it just creates an in game route similar to a Strava segment (for anyone who is familiar with that). It looks like you will be able to earn bronze, silver and gold route badges for walking accepted routes. I am looking forward to seeing how this develops.
Deleted as it appears feedback was not appropriate or helpful
I'm one of the chosen ones! Yay! I've already got some ideas for a few routes.
How long is this test period going to last for?
I think everyone who hit tier 3 on the recent challenge should have been selected.
It's probably better to have a varied range of users from new Wayfarers with only a few submissions, users who only submit locally and wearied old cronies.
I was selected, have no idea what routes to make though.
"Selected Explorers who participate during the early-access period may be selected to have their experience amplified on our official social media channels once Routes has launched globally. " What does this mean? What should we be posting to social media?
So, what's the length of each route exactly. In the tutorial I have:
Routes must be:
