Multiple ‘Accepted’ Contributions never appearing in PokemonGo

I’ve submitted, and had accepted quite a large number of Pokestop nominations that just never actually appear in the game. I’ve received email confirmation they’ve been accepted, and in Wayfinder they show up as accepted, but they’ve never actually appeared in real life. It’s been over two months for some of them, and I’d been to those locations multiple times to check.
The top four never appeared, and I’d given up trying until I read about this community forum. I don’t know if my account is blacklisted, or they were all removed, but I visited these locations the next day after getting them accepted. It seems strange so many would go missing.

Hi there. I know this is a frustrating aspect of the Wayfarer system, but the most likely reason your contributions don't show up in Pokemon Go is because they are too close to existing wayspots in Pokemon Go. For example, your Broadbeach Neon Sign is a great contribution, but it is located too close to this spot
Niantic is not transparent about the inclusion rules for each game, but you can research information about s2 cells and the like from many sources on the internet that will help you understand what other Wayfarers have been able to deduce about the selection process for Pokemon Go.

Your wayspot is in the Lightship database.
Each game sets its own rules as to what it will take from Lightship to use in that particular game.
For Pokémon Go the rules revolve around the use of some mapping software commonly referred to as S2 cells it breaks down the surface into smaller and smaller cells - each size is referred to as level and a number.
Google: S2 cells and Pokémon Go - Pokémongohub has a very good explanation.
The key is that in Pokémon Go only accepts 1 wayspot in each Level 17 cell, so if there is already a pokestop or gym in the game, in that cell, yours will not be selected to enter Pokémon Go.
This is what has happened in your case.
It is disappointing and frustrating when this happens, but don’t let it put you off submitting. It is always difficult in areas where there might already be quite a lot of wayspots as this is more likely to happen. Try to understand more about the rules and try submitting somewhere not as wayspot dense.
