Do players have to actively choose to start and finish a route at start/end point or does it activate as soon as you are on it?
If so the decay section would make sense. Not enough players use your route it disappears.
It would change how I make a route. If I'm in a park that has multiple paths that loop back and around to create a 5km route or a 1km along one path/perimeter I'll probably choose the latter.
My initial guess on "Decayed" was routes where one (or both) of the Pokéstops had been deleted or moved, but I also figured it was possible that routes that didn't see enough use could eventually be deleted and end up here. I wonder if any Ingress players can offer insight on this: is the word "decayed" used in relation to missions, and if so, what does it mean there?
I kind of wonder if their system thought you were drawing something "inappropriate" (specifically the shape around the Inn). Would it be feasible to submit this again without some of the looping around, or would that defeat the purpose of the route?
i don’t like the grey. - bring back the blue or let me choose. Following a walking trail - so really hard to tell with the gray route if it’s tracking me or not. The blue made it easy
not all stops were showing up to be selected as start end points. I could select them sometimes
didnt always give me a choice of photo from either end
the new .5 km limit is annoying - a few routes were just around that length - but due to rounding it would say my route was .5 but at the same time say it’s not long enough - please add more places ie your route is 0.49 or tell me how many more meters I need to make it
skipped tracking me for a bit - of course this was near the end of several km route so it was ruined. - need to find a way to let us erase part of a route and backtrack when GPS glitches
I've submitted 3 routes and had one approved. I've had app crashes every 200 or 300 meters each time I recorded a route, even with the latest APK update with grey trails. I'm certainly not going to try for any longer routes like this - I'd love to record a much longer walk but restarting a dozen times or more is incredibly tedious.
I hope the interaction to walk the routes will be more stable. I can't see this as a worthwhile feature if it crashes the app.
What a great launch to Routes early access. By now, Explorers with early access that have created a Route will have seen several tags on their submissions such as Submitted or Published. We are seeing the world light up with Routes. All of the Routes created so far have been extremely helpful in making improvements to the Routes experience in Pokémon GO. One of those learnings has been that Routes that are 500m or longer are best for gameplay balancing. The Routes Team will be making 500m the shortest distance requirement for all Routes, meaning that those currently under 500m will display a “Rejected or Not Accepted” tag as they continue to review Route submissions. That change will take place throughout the next couple of days and thankfully will only impact a small fraction of created Routes.
I'm waiting for my route straight up a mountain to be rejected. I traced the route on 6/24 (I climbed a mountain yet again for Pokemon Go) and the route still says submitted. I have done 3 routes and only 1 has been accepted.
We never did get a response from Niantic about the secret nature of this exercise did we, they just replied and said 500 meters and above would be the new norm.
Hatte jemand dasselbe Problem?
Things that are most annoying, apart from the above, so far
General crashes at the start, mid, end point of a route.
Not recognising that you have reached your end point and getting stuck in a loop of asking if you have reached your end point.
Choosing an end point then having no image to choose meaning you have to quit the route.
Pausing at any point causes some of the above.
Being asked to return to a pause point which causes your end point to go into a loop.
Only being able to choose one picture.
The game showing you have walked 0.5km but the route end point not recognising 0.5km which means you get stuck in a loop of end point choosing.
I've found that if I can choose the start and end point of a route it makes the route process a lot smoother, no pausing, no end point choosing and also gives me the option of two pictures.
Interesting. I've only done the "choose start and end points at the beginning" method so far. I had hoped to do some more testing this week, but wildfire smoke is making that unwise.
Anyway, this seems like a good list of issues for Niantic to take a look at. Though I suppose you could add "unexplained automatic rejections" to the list as well.

Not at all. I'm more interested in how they work rather than seeing them actually work now :D
I'll try again tomorrow on my way home and do multiple routes of straight paths around it.
I sketched up this route that may or may not be more "appropriate." 😉 Otherwise, breaking it up into two routes as you suggested may be a workaround.
I don't know which one looks ruder...
I'll test the straight paths and find out if better to never cross the streams.
First routes today with the new update

Hello Explorers,

Safe Exploring!
My rejections so far
Kirk - Complex route
Park - Complex route
Church - Complex Route
Historic Inns - Simple route but to be fair that was just me trying to create a route from one pub to the next over a park.
Thank you, @NianticTintino-ING - the app is still crashing here when beginning the route, what about those problems?
Thank you for sharing. The Pokémon GO team is aware and working on it.
@NianticTintino-ING
I'm not sure if this was the intent, but there are a few things that need to be corrected.
In particular, the buttons are there, but EDIT is not working.
This should be fixed ASAP.
@NianticTintino-ING
What's going on with the routes created in the first couple of days that are still under review?
It seems like routes that were created after 6/25 are all decided within the 24 hours frame.
@NianticTintino-ING
What happened when a 600m route was rejected? Do I have to walk this again and again to have it being accepted?
I don't even know why it was rejected.
Isn't there an appeal?
Strangely these routes do show alot of similarity to wayfarer.
What was it if you don't mind sharing?
Just generally though.
At a guess those will appear once routes are live.
It's still in testing maybe they don't want edits etc yet.
22nd - 4 still in review, 1 accepted.
23rd - 4 still in review, 1 rejected.
24th - 2 published, 1 in review, 1 rejected

Discover the aviation history of the local area where The Hawker Centre built aircraft for WW1 and WW2
Educational Mushroom Path in the Wood with nice Signs
I think the AI robot needs oiled.
I think it only shows end point up to 0.5km so I can't always choose them?
Stay safe!
I think i will have other people make that. Isnt it that i run around enough for Niantic? Do i have to constantly resubmit routes now?
