Little Libraries and “Private Residence”

So there’s a little library in my town that I casually went to nominate and was rejected; for private residence - despite it NOT being on private residence
the same day; I nominated another library across town that IS on private residence clearly - it’s on the front of their yard. Public by all means but if we’re being anal then it was for sure private ; what do you know - it was approved 😮💨
what the hell’s goin on here lol

How can you expect anyone to respond to you without giving any information. You'd need to cut and paste BOTH whole nominations if you want advice.
If on other hand you just want to complain about lack of perfect consistency, try general or criteria.
I’m shocked by some of the words that are allowed in this forum.
The inconsistencies of the word filter/ censor no longer surprise me 🤔
@27Delight-PGO Can you post both examples? It sounds to me that the reviewers made a mistake and accepted the PRP library.
Since this is the 'improvement' section, I'd like to see the non-PRP library, and see how that was mistakenly rejected.
Which ones? I didn't use any profanity
Colloquial slang doesn't offend me; people are raised in different parts of the world and its subjective. Don't be so fragile
Sure - one min
Yeah, I should have I suppose; although I was assuming that the things at play in each nomination are as close as can be; the biggest difference in the appearance of the library : which honestly I believe was the deciding factor .
The Red one (you'll see when I post them ) looks like arts and craft project in 4th grade
The brown one is professional and stylistic
H E double Hockey sticks
I thought you meant both Lana and Lleh......
@27Delight-PGO There is an ongoing discussion on what passes the filter and what does not. I suspect no fragility here. Just general bemusement or should I say gentle sarcasm. Far be it for me to speak on 29s behalf though - he says hastily.
Can we see the copy and paste nominations too. Please
The Red one is next to a trolley stop bench; and the brown one is in this dudes yard
@27Delight-PGO I’ve looked around Ojai and there are SO MANY easily eligible things that aren’t in the game yet (example: so many Tennis courts) why are you stressing over these borderline nominations? Go for the easy ones.
Hello @27Delight-PGOIt is very easy to misunderstand postings, your interpretation here is veryfar from the truth. 🤪 and @rufoushumming-PGO has explained the broader context.
It is not helpful though to then use a phrase that if it was a different situation would make matters worse as it could be read as aggressive.
To get back to the topic, we are in that eternally debated area of USA definitions of when the private residential property ends. As a non USA resident I am no expert.
I looked on street view at both:
The red one has a line of stones right in front of it. I would take that as a clear indication that it is on Private residential property (PRP) so a definite reject.
The second one doesn’t have that visual clue but from what I have read here, I would take it that this is PRP and reject on that basis.
Yes it is inconsistent. I suspect you are right that the better appearance of the second one probably grabbed the reviewers attention and they then they overlooked PRP. Probably reviewed by 2 completely different sets of reviewers.
It would be interesting to see the supplementary text to get a fuller view of what the reviewers were presented with.
Out of curiosity why did you submit something you knew was not eligible, it seems an odd thing to do. There is plenty scope for eligible points to be submitted.
It should be possible to get the wrongly approved one removed, as it is on PRP.
Dude; first of all - thank you for your thorough sauce; I really appreciate the deep dive and what you said makes a lot of sense. I nominated it due to the ambiguity of these libraries being approved or not. And also as a social experiment via what you mentioned about the appearance. The red one is doing itself no favors looking like that; but obv as a real life object it’s just fine :) and finally I will say that I appreciate your patience w me and I value your time so thanks I’m still new to the community here in the forums ; so my slapstick inflections we’re not me trying to be rude; glad u saw that. Much love
so; I remove the rocks and it would be approved? That’s wild lol (not doing that but amazing if that is how it’s really determined private residence or not (I guess by case by case and per reviewer as u said
facts dude. I have been slowly hitting them
all; I’ve got 20 I’ve put in ojai and plan on getting everything bc I had the exact thought as you when realizing how many things r just begging to be nominated. I imagine the reason is because I was not able to get photos that would be accepted so couldn’t nominate such as a tennis court that is currently being played on; or some other reason. If I’m on foot and it’s day time I am always on the lookout for potential stops though. My GF is super impatient and stubborn about taking the extra few min to stop and Do them right when we see them. I find using the photo’s later at home is super irritating because it crashes your game 95% of the time right before the end of the Nom. I have to re start with that map pin from my house to across town; and find the spot again from the metadata; and hope it doesn’t crash. If it was easier to nominate from home , I’d have so many more done already. I still try it tho I’ll grab a good way spot photo and surrounding photo ; and later I’ll attempt if I can’t nom in that moment.
I simply was doing an experiment because I didn’t try any tricks I just was surprised the “more obvious “ private residence was approved . Also; the red one is actually right next to the trolley bench; it’s a more place to explore esque ; with public transporters already standing there; it doesn’t leave the potential for someone to go on someone’s property: compared to the accepted one is if you grabbed a book from there you’re on his yard. If you grab a book from the red one ; you’re not. But your hand would hwve passed the rock lines smh
@27Delight-PGO I don't know its a language thing, but you still haven't cut and paste the entire nomination which almost makes me wonder if your trying to hide the full nomination for nefarious purposes.
This in turn forced @Elijustrying-ING to have to use streetview and from those picture both look like they would could as PRP. Unfortantly Niantic doesn't recognize things like easements or public access when it comes to PRP.
Most reviewers aren't going to do a deep dive, they are going to go by basic satellite view and your supplemental photos which still havent been shown.
