Rejected for Poor Picture/Private Property

My submission Mansfield Crossing Little Library from 5/7/23 was rejected because the picture quality was poor and claims it was on private property. I have a better picture to submit, see attached, but couldn't find a way to do it and supporting information that this is not on private property, but on sidewalk of a public road/community road.

Title of the Wayspot: Mansfield Crossing Little Library

Location: 37.474610, -77.603594

City: North Chesterfield. VA

Country: USA

Screenshot of the Rejection Email: Attached

Photos to support your claim: Attached

Additional information: This little library is at the end of the cul-de-sac and on public property, not on private property and is a frequently used staple within the community. The new picture better aligns to community guidelines and shows this is on the public road not private property.

You can't appeal rejected nominations on the forum. You need to do that through Wayfarer itself, using the appeal button:

If you don't see this button, it's because you used another appeal recently. You need to wait 30 days from when you used your previous appeal before you can use another one.

That being said, street view at the location is 11 years old, so the little free library doesn't show up. However, it looks like the residential properties in the area extend all the way to the roadside from what is available on street view, so the fact the little free library is on the grass would imply it is on private residential property, and as such, that would mean it was correctly rejected.

OK, a correction to this - some street view from farther away does indeed show the LFL.

Definitely seems to be part of the property to me.

  • Thank you for submitting a Wayspot nomination, @HeyKev89-PGO! We are unable to provide specific details for each nomination that is ineligible in this thread. If you feel that your rejected nomination should have been approved, you can now appeal it. Note you can submit only one appeal per 30 days. If you have already submitted an appeal, you may see an error when you try to appeal another nomination. Alternatively, we suggest re-submitting the Wayspot candidate after improving the title, description, and/or photo.
