Whether it is a Niantic review or collusion, we have no way of knowing, but either way, this is coal.

Remember. As a game. Nominations and reviewing is part of it. And people do those two things for completely different reasons to actual game players. . Seriously
People nominate and review for reasons that have little to do with the game itself. Again. Really. Nominating Shyte. Is part of their game. Having a local league to be the top nominator. Working in a cabal to get stuff through. Out competing each other to get something in that stretches boundaries. Blah blah
Mind blowing sure. New behaviour. Nah. Humans suck They doing stuff like this for ever. Get one over the game is more important than you. Beating the system for some reason. More important than the game ethics. More important that doing the right thing. Hell yeah. But and this is important as we do not know who nominated this......
Whatever the criteria are. Whatever test you have to take. Whatever. Because to compound this problem. People are sheep. Yes . we humans are sheep. We copy, we follow, we forget what we tested on or what is right, we go, oooh look somone got that in. So can I. And if I want a POI near me and I have seen shyte nominations get in. Then sure I will nominate too.
So combine that with people gaming the system, wanting to get one up. Well hey..... these will get in
And in some areas. Well nearly everything is nominated already. So - say for instance, you spot an empty L17 cell. Empty. Well game on if all I care about is a POI with my name on it.
this is a sympton of wider issues. Not Niantics fault to a degree. Just people know they can work it. And when they working together way more so ....
Sorry to say this. but expect way more. :-)
Then Niantic should remove the whole nomination process with criteria and reviews and just fill the map with random waypoints the way they do it during pogo events.
Pogoers do not care about the actual content of waypoints. They just want every millimeter of the map covered in stops and gyms🙄
@Mxx-ING Everyone her is a wayfinder. We try to avoid creating divisions between players of different games. Unfounded generalities such as this are just not helpful.
Well, 90% of trash that I see in my city comes from pogo, so it's founded. 🤷
And I don't mean 90% of all wayspots, but 90% of trash.
And it is helpful because niantic need to realize it's a problem that needs addressing in this specific case and as in wayfarer as a whole.
This is not a symbiotic relationship but adversarial.
How many people play ingress vs Pokémon go on your city?
Maybe the problem is not the game but the people and as Pokémon go outnumbers ingress it's easier to blame the game is you look only at one part of the data
Except the percentage of new wayspots is about equal between ingress and pogo players, not 9:1 as with trash submissions.
When the Wayfarer Team look at reports of abusive submissions and acceptance they judge what has happened and not what game the person may play. They will then if it is found to be abusive take action.
If you have wayspots that have been put into the database then the correct route to take is to report them providing evidence as necessary.
if you would like some assistance to check that your definition of low quality is in line with general Wayfarer expectations then please do post some examples.
It is perfectly possible to do all of this without making divisive remarks.

Probably the same criteria that made memorial benches available for me to use in P0g0 before I could nominate.
It could also have been the same criteria that allowed Ingress Street, Water Portal and Broken Resonator and Discarded Keys through.
