Are UK postboxes allowed?

This is the only posbox in the small hamlet of Little Ouse. The style is ‘Lamp Box Pier’ and can be found on an OSM 52.476598, 0.382425. It keeps getting rejected.
we desperately need pokestops where we live, we have no shops just a small row of houses surrounded by a small river and farmland. The postbox is by the road, but it’s the only road in and out and the only **** of grass for kids to play on, we don’t even have a playground, shops or space to play other than alongside the road as the rest is farmland. Any ideas how to get this allowed, please?

There are so many ER II mail boxes (70,000 ish I seem to recall) that they're basically generic mass-produced items (there's the odd exception like silver jubilee boxes). Arguably boxes from George IV and V (still very common) are also generic mass produced items, but they are sometimes voted through. Victorian and Edwardian boxes are likely to be accepted because of their age and comparative low numbers.
You can report the church in app - click on the photo.
As to being so remote, unfortunately the games favour city dwellers. Trail markers are a possibility in rural areas but it can be hard finding valid wayspots.

Thanks for your reply, I have reported the church myself. It was very odd because of was rejected and then out of the blue it appeared on the map, only yesterday, creating a gym on our only other pokestop. I don’t want to get banned for this, especially when I was not the one changing it to accepted. But appreciate that someone somewhere was probably trying to help us and didn’t check it thoroughly when they did. Sadly we’ll lose our only gym now but we only had it for a day so we won’t miss what we’ve never used yet lol
thanks for your explanation about the post boxes. It’s a shame they can’t be used as they are still a piece of British history and the Queen has now died.

Well now you’ve drawn attention to the fact that there’s a fake church.
Hello and welcome @BritSassy-PGO
ER II are not acceptable.
The church is wrongly located and appears to now be converted into private residential property.
Maybe you could make a case for this due to it being in such a remote location. Generally they don't and shouldn't get accepted.
I think you would struggle to see it in game and I personally wouldn't try.
The church does/did exist :)
It looks like it has been deconsecrated and renovated maybe?
What an amazing place :D
Yes, well it’s not fake but I’m trying to contact someone about it.
Thanks for your replies. How do I contact someone about the church and the fact that we don’t have a gym either - (we won’t when the church has gone lol) it was only added yesterday.
Can you explain why ER II ar not acceptable, please? I can understand it’s perhaps too modern, but now the Queen has died isn’t now classed as a piece of history?
Who can I contact about the church and the fact that we are so remote?
Thanks for the warm welcome

Are there any notice boards?
I’ll have a google walk aroun
Good luck!
It is pretty remote. I had a walk around for 20 seconds earlier :)
There used to be a notice board by the bridge that would have been good, but it appears to have gone.
@BritSassy-PGO
There really isn’t much there. I would suggest trying to talk to the local parish council to see if they can put in some things. Start with a replacement notice board placed next to the postbox.
Also see if you could get them to look at an information board beside the river - perhaps about wildlife and or history of the hamlet, walks along the river. Etc get creative and get others locally active you might get community benefits and game benefits.
Does the boat hire place have a sign at all - I'm not saying it's a strong nomination, but depending on what the sign said you might get something out of that. Check farm gates for information boards too - some farms have info boards about what they're doing.
Other thought ….
There is a small sign directing people to the church and chancel perhaps if there could be a little more about the history of it even if the board says no longer accessible at the bottom, the fact that it was about the church would help.
I take it tge church is a single home and not converted into more than one?
Great idea but no, thanks though!
That’s interesting. I will definitely go for contacting the council the replacement notice board and the wildlife information board. They’re great ideas. Would even like a sign welcome to Little Ouse but that might not be up to us. Thank you!!
I think it’s just one house or maybe it’s split into two. Definitely not flats.
I don’t know, I can’t currently get over the bridge as I’m temporarily disabled and it’s too steep lol but I will ask a friend. I know he already submitted that and was rejected outright. I’m sure he took a picture of the river and a row of boats.
There so much you could add about the interesting Reverend and the Sparkes family :)
I know, right?! It’s a great surname, Sparkes!
I've seen submissions for this post box, and have reluctantly rejected them because an EIIR post box just isn't historically interesting.
StreetView for this place isn't great, but there is a tantalising sign for the Church at this junction..
The church is in the wrong place, it should be to the south of the river in an area which looks heavily wooded from Satellite View but not from StreetView. The sign implies public access. I would simply request moving the church if the new location is easy enough, else there's another forum here that can help.
If you are on the ground and can manage some exploring, there are sometimes things that you can find that aren't obvious. One think that can help is looking at some old maps, there's a good resource here - Old maps of East Cambridgeshire (oldmapsonline.org) -in particular, this one is interesting https://maps.nls.uk/view/101571238
There certainly are some interesting and historic buildings, but they all now appear to be private residential properties so are ineligible. I might want to check out the draining pump, because sometimes these things can be eligible due to industrial heritage.
OpenStreetMap can also uncover things that are not obvious but in this case... errrr... well, there's not a lot in the vicinity: https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=15/52.4759/0.3846
In general, things I look for in a village if I am submitting wayspots are a village hall, pub, church, war memorial, lych gate, water pumps and hydrants, noticeboards, post offices, trail markers, playgrounds, sports fields and (yes) old post boxes I'm not sure there are any of those here :(
But.. here is some potentially good news. If you are looking for places that have trail markers, the LDWA website covers all the major walking trails in the UK - Search for Path (ldwa.org.uk) - and according to the LDWA, the Iceni Way runs along the bank on the north side of the river - https://ldwa.org.uk/ldp/members/show_path.php?path_name=Iceni+Way - there **may** be some trail markers in the area (although you might find them hard to explore if they are across the bridge). I have sometimes accepted standard footpath markers where there is evidence that they are on a named trail (no idea if they got accepted in the end).
Sadly, sometimes you have to accept that there is not much eligible. I have a small village near me that I have scoured several times looking for wayspots and there is nothing at all.
