Does this submission abuse ever get warnings for doing the same thing over and over?
Oh man, is this the same guy who did this to elephant sculptures at the entrance of some restaurant or something?
I remember that thread, maybe he could get banned from sending photos... really.
I'm not sure if this a new photo @ddm027-ING . I do know this player added the same photo that was banned back onto one of the other portals after it was removed. (they did crop it down a little)
Well is the same photo, definitely.
Can you link us to the portal and the other threads with similar claims? Maybe that would show Niantic how this abuser had been working and then, proper actions would happen over him/her.
@ddm027-ING I'll submit a separate appeal for the portal where they re-added the photo. Here's the original appeal for that portal. https://community.ingress.com/en/discussion/7358/would-you-please-consider-removing-the-portal-photo-with-the-submitter-identifiable-personal-item
Yes, If I find something that identifies the submitter (I have seen Pokeballs, hats, action figures) I auto-reject. I don't care what it is.

Thanks for your consideration, @NianticKN-ING .
Keep in mind here I'm fairly blunt, not knocking, just curious for the most part.
I'd like to touch on this, I'm slightly curious to the motives here if any? The title of the thread leads more to submitter identifiable and I'm slightly curious why that's a problem. Having seen this photo, the clothing is obviously interfering with the view of the object, which for me is more grounds for removal than the hat identifying the agent. You also appear to be following a history of this agent doing such things, maybe they are all similar to this where it's very obvious and or distracting to the photo.
The submitter of the photo is usually shown on the photo within Ingress. I'm not sure if this carries forward to the other games, but the submitter isn't exactly private, once the photo's been approved. Photo's in new nominations might help Identify submissions to other players with such knowledge during wayfarer voting, but so would good communication and photo characteristic gathered over time (beyond the visual content).
I'm someone who like to add a character to some photos, usually respectfully, where applicable. The above case grants removal. Most of mine have been approved by Niantic as new photo submissions. It's added more fun to taking photos, and in our community it's given some a good laugh. Having fun is what games are about. I know of others who do the same, a good luck charm, hidden away in the shot, like Waldo.
It can also help prove that I actually took the photo, and could be identifiable to me, if you had knowledge of me, or history with the submissions I've made.
Does taste matter? Where do we draw a line? What are your thoughts?
If an agent is intentionally adding an object that’s not related to the point of interest it’s abuse of the system and shouldn’t be allowed. This agent has done it over a dozen times. I recently noticed one in a crowded tourist location where they had a friend stand in front of them with the hat on backward so it appears to be innocently and unintentionally a part of the photo. At this point, I’m of the mind that there shouldn’t be any cute Easter Eggs in the photos. Also, wayfarer states adding items to the photos is not permitted. Please see the attached screenshot.
How do you feel about this?
I feel disappointed.
It seems like a perfectly lovely photo minus the garden gnome that was hidden in it. You asked, "Does taste matter?" I would argue that it does not. Taste is subjective. I would argue that the rules matter. I’m guessing our tastes would vastly differ anyhow. I’m more interested in a Los Angeles Dodgers hat than I am garden gnomes. But neither one them have a place in Wayspot photos unless they are the main focal point of the Wayspot and they meet the criteria in some way (which seems unlikely).
I feel disappointed too. Go have some fun. Cheers :)
