Harsh Cooldowns

Has anyone else been getting the four hour cool down more often lately? Over the past four days I keep getting 4 hour cool downs (which before then I’d only gotten once before) usually I would just receive the Capcha.
What kinds if patterns should I avoid to prevent this. I tried slowing down my reviewing substantially but that hasn’t helped. I consider myself proficient and familiar enough with the Guidelines for me to review nomination accurately within about a minute, but even taking three minutes doesn’t seem to be enough. I rarely give 1 or five star ratings in any of the categories? Do you think that might help?

The 4 hour cooldown will get triggered when you are reviewing too fast. When you want to make sure you do not get this cooldown, wait for at least 20 seconds per review. I had the same problem earlier but since I started to wait a bit (You can for example watch a video while reviewing or post something in any social platforms) I never had this cooldown anymore.
If you rarely give a 5* rating then I would think that your voting pattern is out of the ordinary, specially if they compare it to the ratings given by other people.
Also possible, I normally only give 5* on a 10000% accepted POI like a church or a memorial. All the other accepted POIs I normally give 4*. For example a playground is nothing special, but it meets all criteria.
I rarely give 5* ratings and I've never gotten a cooldown. So that's not it.
Give it up, guys. You're never going to figure it out.
Yes, it happened to me a few times and I know many people that stopped reviewing because they thought it was very insulting to be punished by Niantic when they are giving them free time. It doesn't help that I usually get cooldowns after choosing a location or picking the text with no grammar mistakes on edits... it's insulting, broken and disrespecful to the player base.
I can only remember getting one four-hour cooldown in my life. I tend to fly through a lot of the reviews, so I don't think speed is the determining factor.
Revewing as per the guidelines and getting a long series of 1* reviews will get you a cooldown very quickly.
You're only getting 4 hour cool downs? I'm getting cool downs that last a week. I'm kind of seeing a pattern unfortunately. If I 1* too many nominations in a row I get a cool down for a week. It doesn't matter how bad the nominations are, I get a cool down even though my reviewer rating remains high.
I too have graduated from 4 hour to 84 hour cooldowns. Also have a "great" rating and no clue what I am doing wrong...been waiting 2 minutes to submit, even duplicates and easy 1*.
I definitely see more cooldowns when I reject a lot of things. But when you get a flag pole, a Starbucks, a random bench, a lake fountain, and a picture of someone's dog all in a row, what else are you supposed to do?
The general rule of thumb seems to be 84 hours, at least as far as I've seen.
I had the same issue after I reviewed around 10 playgrounds and gazebos in a row and getting locked for 24 hours because I approved them too fast or have them all similar ratings. Who knows. The answer, as others have said, is to get used to it. Muscle through this kind of disruption until you get that upgrade and get your final nomination pushed into voting then drop the whole thing until you submit another nomination.
