According to the new criteria page. Are video game stores that are part of a big chain legit?

Like Ebgames for example? We are discussing in our local discord and we are not sure. We have some retro gaming stores which are locally owned. But are bigger brand stores legitimate?

No, they are part of a national chain/franchise and not a locally owned business.
As both @BaltiCalling-ING or @TheFarix-PGO mentioned, if they're a national chain or franchise that doesn't have something to serve as a local point of interest, it would be ineligible.
An example of this off the top of my head, would be a gaming-focused cafe attached to it or a gaming room (like some comic stores have).
