Bars and Pubs

If you're going to continue cherry picking and twisting everything I say, please don't bother responding in future.
I clearly said that bars, pubs, and postboxes have to MEET CRITERIA in order to be accepted.
I also stated that the only time I would reject a CHURCH or TRAIL MARKER if there is no safe access. I.E. If an old, disused church building is now in the middle of a lake without safe access or if the trail marker is somehow stuck in part of hill that looks unsafe to walk on.
A pub or a bar are generic businesses unless they have something that makes them stand out, be it the architecture, the history, or so on. Just because people meet at a bar doesn't mean it should be approved. If that was the case, every Starbucks or Costa or supermarket cafe would be allowed.
I have explained repeatedly why I reject them. I don't see how repeating myself any further will add anything new to this discussion.
Things that Niantic say meet criteria, and that the submitter has convinced me meets the criteria and doesn't meet any of the exclusions. I have an open mind with reviewing, nothing is as clear cut as "accept all x" and "reject all y". And I'm always open to learn and change the way I review based on current guidelines whether I agree or not.
You're twisting people's words again. No-one is saying bars and pubs can't meet criteria. Just that not all of them automatically do, just by being a bar or a pub.
Same.
Churches and other places of worship aren't regarded as businesses.
Post offices are an essential service to the community since they help people connect through the power of post.
Anyway, you're continuing to try derail this thread further, so I assume this discussion is over until Casey or another NIA rep can tell us how we should vote on local bars and pubs?
Twisting people's words? Who told you to accept churches, trail marker with names, and post offices. Niantic did. So why are you rejecting some bars? When bars are allowed.
An island isn't accessible by everyone but it is still allowed.
Churches change congregations yet still allowed.
Bars and pubs why do you feel they do not meet criteria. They are written by niantic as acceptable.
I'm with @NicoSolheim-ING . This thread needs putting to rest until Niantic step in, we're going round in circles and every time we answer a question, it just gets asked again more aggressively, with more random non-related Wayspots used as "analogies".
Things Niantic says that meet criteria are bars and pubs. Yet you are ignoring it purposely arguing against bars and pubs.
So please explain your concerns.... That give you an overall impression of bars and pubs that make them not be eligible. Niantic clearly says in 2 totally different sections that they are allowed, that is causing you to go against their rules for accepting bar.
Athletic Fields, Playgrounds, Trail Markers with name signs, Churches we do not question historic, culture, etc... So why are you questioning it on Bars and Pubs? Niantic already has confirmed to accept these in 2 different sections with the same phrase.
Keep in mind. Many churches have multiple locations around the world.
Hey @NianticCasey-ING I know you're probably super busy at the moment but any chance you can clear this up?
I'm of the belief that bars and pubs are local businesses that should meet criteria to be approved, whereas other people think that they should all be approved regardless if they meet criteria or not, and the argument is just going round and round in circles now.
They meet criteria being a social gathering place that sells adult alcoholic beverages. That is criteria to accept.
why is this argument still happening? If you think your local bar meets guidance submit it and write a good description as to why it meets criteria.
it will either a) get accepted and we don’t need this argument
or b) get rejected and then come back with your example and we can say whether given the information provided we agree or disagree.
right now all I’m reading is hypothetical situations, that’s a waste of our time. Come back when you can give actual examples of submissions you can’t get through
Would this count as a good example of a pub being rejected?
It was from my early days of submitting wayspots, so I acknowledge the description definitely needed work!
Here is a similar response to this situation from Casey. Community gathering is a criteria. Social gathering place is the same situation. Hyper Local spots are Bars and Pubs and meet criteria for being an establishment that serves alcohol that is also a social gathering place.

Hey folks, I'm in agreement with @AdamSkot-PGO@adetia9-PGO here. Freestanding, outdoor community notice boards seem to me to fall within the 'community gathering' criteria, but a noticeboard within a supermarket doesn't seem to be as notable a location for gathering or distinguishable from the rest of the market.
I do see what @grendelwulf-ING is saying in that POIs should be unique and interesting, but agree with @Theisman-ING that not everything is interesting to everyone. We shouldn't be reviewing as if we were writing a vacation guide 😉
Quick google shows that pub has a good reputation and is Popular with tourists, I would have expected that to be an easy accept
Thanks for the lively discussion on this thread. Based on the content of the discussion, I will be closing it for future comments. I appreciate your understanding.
