I'm going to move a gym, any advice not to lose it?

I am going to request to move this gym, it is a park and in the area where it is they have placed a water source that I want to be a stop.
Can I move it without fear that it will stop being a gym?
Do I have to make sure it is still the most voted stop to keep it being a gym?
Is there a risk of losing the gym?
If I ask for the edition of the stop, will I be able to see the nomination in my Proposals section and upgrade it? I have never asked to edit the location of a stop
It's a heavily used gym in the area and I wouldn't want to miss it.

Niantic has changed a lot in the last days. Earlier, I could say how to 100% not use it. But today, I cant anymore. Is the cell you want to move it in empty?
Only move a Wayspot if it is to make the location more accurate or the proposed location makes more logical sense (such as moving a Wayspot out of the playarea of an athletic field). Both of which should be obvious to the reviewers.
Second, you cannot see your submitted edits in Wayfarer, nor can they be upgraded.

The location of the pin should accurately reflect the Wayspot's location in the real-world, regardless of whether it has converted into the desired in-app location or not.
As @TheFarix-PGO said, location changes should only be submitted to make the marker more accurate or if the marker were to be closer to a logical point of discovery representing a larger location (e.g. a welcome sign for a large park).

Than the POI would not get vanished, if it stays a gym, I cannot tell you

Before you try to move it, what is this "water source" you're planning to nominate?

Common drinking fountain is not a valid stop. Bluntly, you're risking the gym for nothing.
Third vote for use the Ingress (official) map with an inofficial plugin (IITC + Pogo Tools) to see all the possible wayspots in the area.

Seriously, there are like... ¿1000 stops? of drinking fountains, Everywhere I go there are. I'm saying something like this:

To get back to the question:
If the location is wrong, correct it. Its for the quality and not the game. This is exactly what Casey told you. I also lost a few POIs because of the new system. But at least they are Positionen correct now.
According to the Ingress Intel map, your existing POI is in the correct spot, the pin is right on top of the POI. Asking for an edit to move the pin away from the correct location into another cell just so you can allow another potential POI to come into the game could be reported as Abuse and have consequences.
Looking at the map, even if you moved the current POI away from it's spot, the site is so small any new POI would be within 20m of the old one so would not appear in PoGo.
So if I understand this correctly, you're planning to abuse the wayfarer system to get a new pokestop and you're posting about it on Niantic's wayfarer forum?

If you understand it correctly I do not know that it is prohibited. Obviously now that I know it's forbidden I'm not going to do it. Precisely if I create the post it is to resolve doubts about doing this.

I think that not all of us can know the rules and the right thing to do is ask before doing, which is precisely what I do.
I have seen many people who ask to move stops in Wayfarer from one quadrant to another, and since it is a standard practice I thought it was allowed.
I hope that everyone was like that that you ask prior abusing the system... There is people who are just unaware that this is abuse... But there is people that knowing still DO ABUSE the system...
I am on a whatsapp group for Wayfarer in my city and there is many people who just don't care the rules just want more stops for them...
They see me as the "grinch" of the group because I usually tell them their nominations are not valid and pointing them to reddit or this community, but they still don't care...
Question:
is it wrong that I would not place a wayspot directly on a playground equipment like this. Similar to a baseball field or football pitch, I'd place it off the equipment where a group could interact with the Niantic game elements without disturbing the use of the real world equipment by others.
@donandlan-PGO With small playgrounds it doesn't matter. To the best of my knowledge, all of Niantic games all have an interaction radius of at least 40 meters. I just did a survey of about 25 playground portals in my neighborhood, and in almost every case the distance between the center of the playground and the edge was about ten meters or less. There was one where the distance from the center to the edge was 15 meters, and one that was 25 meters.
If you have 10+ meters of space between the edge of the playground and the edge of the interaction area then it doesn't really matter whether the pin is in the center or on the edge-- there's plenty of room to interact without disrupting people in the playground. Here's an example of the last one I checked-- if the pin was in the center of the playground the 40M interaction range would include:
While it's perfectly reasonable to put the pin on the edge of a playground I don't think it makes a difference unless it's a really big playground. I wouldn't bother moving a pin to the edge when reviewing except in very rare cases.

If you place the pin like you described, pay the attention to what kind of photo you take. Photo that focuses on the central piece (for example large slide) of the playground has a big risk to for the pin to be moved on top of it.
A wider area photo showing the area and several play equipments may not be as nice/pretty but has less risk of being moved.
(Personally I prefer entrance as pin point, but if the pin place is valid i don't presume to know the correct place better than the submitter. Hate it when it's done to my submissions.
Playfields are a different situation, I will move every pin placed on the field of play.)
