Are yoga or fitness/gym buisnesses eglible
And would it make a difference if it is a private buisness (meaning situated only at one local place) or for example basic fit who has several spots in europe?

Also interested in some peoples answers to this. As they would be great places for exercise naturally and have public access/permanent and tangible. Would this be the same for martial arts studios as well?
They meet the promote exercise eligibility criteria, and don't meet any rejection criteria.
I feel the local hotspot criteria is only for gathering places, so it doesn't apply here. Any business that promotes exercise should be eligible, even if they are chains.
In contrast to bars, you won't find 20 around a market square.
I thought people might say the generic buisness...
So should this only local gym and fightingschool be eligible? . Also the person who is running the fightingschool is World champion boksing and the the person who is running the gym was his coach back then.
Generic business is not in the rejection criteria. It's a business that promotes exercise, and is therefor eligible.
Yes.
I would assume that fitness schools/dojos that primarily cater to kids are ineligible under the k-12 rule?
If they ONLY cater to kids, they should be rejected.
That's not with the one i would nominate
last bullet of the new Nov 2020 guidelines:
Ineligible location, place, or object
But niantic seems more open minded to exercise criteria. So I think the local yoga/gyms are eligible especially when they have a cool history like @Kasparos347-PGO ‘s suggestions
Edit: November 2020 ama hints they will get rid of generic business in the review as a rejection reason, but they still have it up as a rejection criteria in the website.
“When will “Generic Business” be removed as a nomination rejection reason? Following the criteria relaunch, the guidelines around businesses are much broader and many formerly “generic” businesses now qualify.
Ineligible location, place, or object
A "Generic Business" is still listed in the current rejection criteria. Just because a submission can be classed as eligeable, does not mean it should be automatically accepted, it needs to be properly reviewed. The rejection criteria says "Nominations and edit submissions may be entirely rejected if it meets at least one of the following rejection criteria:" I would suggest a fully commercial gym like this could be considered to be a generic business, it is no different from all the 1000s of others.
"that is not locally unique".
What kind of city do you people live in that has 1000s of gyms? In my area, towns have more churches than gyms.
Me neither. I just see them in review.
They don't :)
But anyways, they wouldn't come in Pokemon Go, because whole s2-cell-system is broken. :) My whole town has a huge historical background, with many eligible buildings and objects. But nopee
-_-
They'll come online in other Niantic apps, and may eventually come online in your app of choice if the map database changes.
do wayspots that are not in pogo trigger spawn appearance? I thought I heard that somewhere but idk if true
What appears to trigger spawns is "Ingress XM" - this is what Ingress players collect by walking around in order to recharge their Power Bar. Ingress Portals are surrounded by a halo of high XM and in other areas XM appears at different densities.
From looking at the Ingress Scanner and the local PoGo spawns, Pokemon spawn more in areas of high XM, so around Gyms and Stops you see lots of spawns as they are also Ingress Portals and consequently are high XM areas.
There are a couple of other areas in my village which have high densities of XM but which are not Portals, Gyms or HPWU Inns - lots of spawns in these small areas. What seems to be the driver behind the appearance of high levels of XM is the level of mobile phone use. Certain roads in my village have very dense XM clouds and lots of PoGo spawning, probably as a result of mobile phone use in those properties. The absolute best place in my village for PoGo spawning away from Gyms and Stops is the carpark of my local supermarket. Because lots of people, and lots of mobile phones are present on site every day over a big area there is a very dense XM cloud in the carpark, and consequently lots of PoGo and HPWU spawns.
Download Ingress and use the scanner to check out you local area, the denser the XM cloud, the more Pokemon spawns you will see.
I still don't know if it's eglible or not actually
Because somehow they will probably reject it because of general buisness but without being that a reason anymore they will probably click on other rejection criteria
It may take a few tries to get it passed but if it meets a couple of the eligibility criteria you will have a strong case. I see a gym as a place for exercise and for socializing, exploration would be a bit of a stretch though. But you have 2 solid reasons as to why it should be a stop. May just have to submit it a few times is all
