Game-specific references in support information

Can you provide guidance around avoiding game-specific references in titles and descriptions to preempt nominations being rejected for low quality title/descriptions?
- This is a good suggestion and something we’ve been meaning to implement. We’ll investigate adding this to the nomination process or booting them out of the queue before you see them.(November AMA)
Should we reject the nominations that refer to game-specific in support information?

Everything where the object doesnt have anything to deal with any game but got any game specific ingormation gets a 1* -> bad title/description. Thats it. No clarification. The POIs should be universa and not specific for one game.
I came here with the same question. You mentioned Title and Description specifically. The OP (and myself) are wondering about game specific info in Supporting Information.
Supporting Informationen doesnt matter. They can just take down the Overal quality. Also, you cant give useful tipps like weblinks and might risk a rejection.
Thanks, this was the info in question...
Irrelevant extra information. In this case you dont necessarily need them. If they ask for 5*, its abuse
The supporting information won't be displayed in any game so it doesn't matter what it contains. Its aim is to explain to reviewers why a Nomination is valid, or some additional information. In this case they've wasted it because it's totally generic and useless.
Game-specific references in the supporting information, while often annoying, are perfectly fine and a submission shouldn't be marked down for them.
Maybe a future clarification on this needs to be made? The Wayspot video does not mention not making specific game references. The criteria listed on the site does not either.
Given that it's totally understandable that a new nominator would think they should mention how there is a lack of portals, Pokéstops, etc in their area and why this park should be added. Meanwhile there are plenty of reviewers auto rejecting anything that mentions a game, even if only in the supporting information.
It should specify that mentioning Ingress, Pokemon Go, or Wizards Unite in the title or description will make it ineligible, but that it's not forbidden in the supporting information section.
I quite agree. I hope this problem will be solved by improving the nomination process.
I agree that nominations shouldn't be marked down because of that game-specific supporting information (other than litetally asking for 5*), but why perfectly fine?
Most of the nominations I've reviewed had these game-specific supporting informations, and I look at them annoying and unhelpful at all.
I find them incredibly annoying, particularly when that space could be better used to explain the submissions. However, when I said they are perfectly fine, I meant that they don't violate any rules or guidelines and thus are acceptable in include.
Thats pretty spot on supporting info. The fact they only mention pokemon go is irrelevant. It explains the reasons for minimal existing POI, points the reviewer to check things out more than a blank lot on street view, and gives a general background. If only more people would use supporting info properly!
It’s very easy as an experienced reviewer to forget what it’s like to be someone submitting for the first time.
We need to be kinder towards these submitters.
Unless you are reviewing you have no idea how the info you supply is going to be seen and used. Many people are likely to only submit a few points that are local to them. So they are unlikely to be experienced in submitting.
So irksome as it is to read information in the supplementary info that is not relevant or helpful to you as a reviewer you have to put that to one side and simply review the photo, the actual point and title and description as provided, and assess against criteria.
