Gyms

So gyms are eligible because they promote physical activity. My question is what if the gym is a chain like Planet Fitness or Flex? Does that matter or would they still be eligible? Thanks for any help with this.

Fitness centers and gyms tick the boxes of social gathering places, places for exercise. They don't seem to meet any rejection criteria, unless they're on the campus of a k-12 school, or a chain/franchise that is not locally unique.

Tbh I dotn see why being a chain should disqualify a gym from being a waypoint, they promote exercise, thats the most important thing, maybe if theres 20 of.these chain gyms in the area I could see it, but for most places there will only be 1 or 2, so should be acceptable

I think in general Gyms should be eligible as they are hyperlocal spots as well as a great place for exercise. If they are publicly accesible, they should be eligible. But, I don't think chain businesses aren't eligible. They are eligible if they have a partnership with Niantic (like- Starbucks,7/11 etc.)

my Gym doesn’t have any signboard saying it is gym Coz it is made in some of old used dormitories. So how will my gym accept as pokestop?
So it looks like a plain normal building without any sign, nothing to tell it apart from any other building around it?
