Hi @NianticCasey-ING - Following on from your post about the new wayspots syncing to hpwu, have you guys switched off submissions from reaching consensus? I've been speaking to some of the UK team in Telegram and were not seeing our average rate of upgrade turnaround. I've had a total of ~30 agreements in the past 24hrs (suspect edits and not new wayspots), and I review a lot so that's not normal for me, even the London team who are in limbo have upgrades in voting that haven't come back in 24hrs now, despite their upgrades normally taking ~6-8hrs roughly.
Before anyone else post, this isn't a post about not enough reviewers, split decisions and review times etc, I assume other countries and other people are seeing the same thing happening though.
Not a complaint Casey, merely just curious, I know you've done this before when the Wayfarer 3.0 update went in as we saw agreements slow down massively then too and I remember seeing a post from you that new portals were switched off, I'll see if I can find the post.

ive had 1 portal approval overnight but not seen anyone else in the U.K. group had any approvals.
agreements are still incredibly slow for everyone which is implying that is just edit agreements coming in.

Can't find the forum post now, but looking at our Telegram logs, I've tracked it back to 20/21st of October 2020, which is when 3.0 dropped, I can attach our chat logs from others in the group who commented at the time that their agreements slowed, and some chat logs from today too.
Normally, this only happens when an update is coming soon or just arrived.

I’ve done about 300+ reviews in the past day or so but haven’t had the agreements come through. My recon badge is ticking up at a snail’s pace.
Have we tried switching it off and on again?

It was mentioned that there was an internal database update planned for early this year, not sure if this has anything to do with the current issue.
It possibly could be and I wouldn't be suprised, it'd just be nice to get some pre-warning that if xyz changes (to the internal database) happen, it might have further impact on other things such as the way agreements count, or if it halts new portals being accepted, etc. I know Niantic can't tell us about the way things work and I'm not asking for that, but just some cause and effect you know?
I have consistently been reviewing a few hundred a week since Christmas, earning steady agreements, and would agree that agreements have slowed to a snail's pace for me. My upgrades usually go into voting with an hour or two in this area (non-upgrades never make it out of queue), my latest upgrade is still in queue after ~24 hours now.
Same thing here. My upgrade % has only increased by 2% these past 2 days. It usually goes by much faster.
HPWU had a server side fix, that actually seems to have worked, for their POI sync. Propably just coincidence.

Hallelujah! When I open HPWU I can see two of my submissions that had been AWOL for months.
My numbers also seem to be going up slowly than recently, and I have two upgraded submissions waiting in the queue (another one did go into voting but no decision yet). I'm also UK, pretty central location, so get a good range. Also got one for France yesterday, which was unusual.
Yours is hard to work out since some of London is under the abuse vector, but it's possible yeah.
The French nomination was coastal, but a lot further south than I would have expected! Possibly Étretat, though I have just realised my home location is further south than where I am now, so probably was a one off unusual one.

Thanks for surfacing, my suspicion is that this could be related to the server work that's being done to sync locations with Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. I'm going to dig into this and swing back around with an update. Thanks for your patience!
Just reported to my local discord that I am having this problem and they pointed me to this thread. I review so much that my number always rolls up but have had no progress since earning an upgrade last night. That 0% is hard to be mistaken about and I have done an hour's worth of reviews. Think I will hold off on any more.
I just had a portal acceptance come in. Jan 12, 9:49 PM UTC. My usual turnaround time for portals is anywhere from 4 weeks to 7 months and counting, and I don't get consensus mails often enough to make up any kind of statistic here - so I can't comment on whether this is a widespread issue. But I can at least assert that I had one portal come in, so it's not completely turned off. Just much slower than usual, judging from the other commenters here
Any update, still seems broken, only had 1 person in our chat have a portal accepted overnight.
The problem is still there, I only received around 10 agreements in the past 24 hours despite spending a lot of time on Wayfarer yesterday and seeing plenty of easy agreements.
Many thanks for looking into that issue. We also noticed that Upgrades don't seem to work anymore as well. Usually a Nomination should be pushed from queue to in-voting in a few hours, but several Nominations are stuck in queue for over 24h now.
This issue really needs more attention and priority
If things aren't moving out of the queue, that may well be why upgrades aren't moving in to voting. I had one go in on the 11th, but two with upgrades still pending.
Have seen some movement on my agreements, but not much at all, which would tally with a few going through
yes, @NianticCasey-ING was so good to tell us what is happening next. I am sure she/he will "swing back" with an update (and hopefully the information that this problem was solved, and by the way we looked in some other problems) - but that is just a bit too fantasy league.
I can confirm this issue is happening since 2-3 days later. I hope the issue will be solved immediately
Okay lets not ragg on Niantic here, credit where credit is due, it's been raised and brought to Casey's attention, so now the ball is on Niantic to come back with something, so let this play out now.
I got a nomination acceptance email around 10:22pm Eastern US last night (Jan. 12th), and the portal is live in Ingress. But my upgrade % has only increased by 1% since my last comment here.
Yeah that's the odd thing, -some- stuff is still processing through, but much slower than it should be, our turnaround times here have been consistent up until Monday (11th) pretty much and then everything slowed down, stuff that we normally expect to come back with upgrades that take around 6hrs, are now passing 48hrs. I know that's normal for some parts of the world, but like I said, this isn't because of review numbers, there is something definitely not right with things currently.

I used a Upgrade for a POI in Wayfarer/Pokemon Go.
It is now for more then 3 Days in the Voting and before it took ages to come in the voting !WITH UPGRADE!
I never had such a Problem like now. I'm so angry... Took me a long time to vote for a Upgrade. And I always try to make it Perfect. So where is your Part?

I find it curious when users who work for their hobby, first have to point out in a forum that something is wrong with the tool that is available to them to work.
That then even assumptions are voiced that a master database was scraped because a game of many, which uses the database has not properly programmed an update for months is embarrassing in my eyes.
There has to be someone at Niantic notice that what is going wrong.
If the error is so huge I hope that the proposals and shifts processed since the occurrence of the error are nevertheless stored in the database and subsequently processed by the server.
Otherwise my suggestion is: Stop editing by players who make Wayfarer first, repair the database and then release it again. And as icing on the cake every 24 hours an official update for all how far the work on it is.
I have one that has been stuck upgraded and in voting for three days also. Although this does happen it's not common. Also seems like there's something going on and we will probably see a flood of submissions get rejected or accepted once this unknown bug is fixed.
