Appeal: Valid TOP Restaurant submission rejected and flagged for abuse
Title of the Wayspot: [Sepia]
Location: [52.333596/21.131319]
City: [Marki, near Warsaw]
Country: [Poland]
Screenshot of the Rejection Email: Attached.
Best, top class restaurant in my city (Marki), founded by a cook who trained in Australia serving a mix of international and polish cuisine with 4.5*/151 rating in Google and 4.5/49 in TripAdvisor, with very positive press releases and faboulous feedback from critics was rejected and the sub was FLAGGED FOR ABUSE "for targeting other players with the purpose of abuse, ridicule, trolling, or harassment".
If I would be looking for a better candidate of a "Hidden Gem" I couldn't certainly find one. It is placed in a beautiful, but indeed a non-conventional place (suburbs of a small town, close proximity to a large forrest). We order food from there regularly, there has been numerous FB posts in the local community recommending its services...
My son has submitted it when the new criteria were released, while I have helped him to provide additional information, link to the restaurant review, etc. We are both absolutely disappointed and angry. I am also afraid that his account may suffer consequences of the unjust abuse report if he tried submitting it again :(. Please look into this sub, as we feel that this is absolutely not fair to reject it in the first place and flagging for abuse is ... just abuse.

Its possibilty to be banned if nomination is tagged as abuse?
I think both of the photos doesn't good enough to persuade reviewers. How about the restaurant bulding itself?
For "flagged as abuse", that reason doesn't make sense and reviewers picking that should be punished instead.
I have had a similar issue with the restaurant in another suburb region - Zalasewo n. Swarzędz (Poland). I tried to submit it two times. One of the reasons for rejection was kind of absurd - "photo of the nomination appears to be of a live animal instead of a valid object".Other were "nomination appears to be on private residential private residential property or farm" and "nomination does not meet acceptance criteria" which are imprecise and unclear. It seems that reviewers are still not aware about the new guidelines. Players from suburbs lose the most because it is really hard to find any other objects meeting the criteria of nominations.
I heard about such situations. It is also mentioned in Wayfarer Help. But would be best for @NianticCasey-ING to comment
I think that there are two rejection reasons - fake and abuse - that stand out. These are very strong messages, and are basically accusations of cheating/gaming the system. I think that these should be treated differently from other rejection reasons: these should trigger a review from Niantic and they should result in consequences. If the accusations turn out to be true, they should result in some sort of punishment for the submitter. If they turn out to be maliciously wrong, they should result in punishment for the reviewer. (Of course, they might turn out to be wrong, but in a non-malicious way, in which case there should be no punishment IMO.)
I know that it's unlikely this will ever happen, but a man can dream.
Yes, my son wants to submit it again with different photos. But we are scared that if he gets another abuse report his account may be suspended. While I agree with you, reviewers should receive feedback for incorrect abuse tags and if the issue is repetitive, their accounts should be endangered not my son's...
I was trying to nominate my restaurant 15 times, also in Poland.
Every one was rejected for a total of ~10 different reasons, albo for abuse once.
This restaurant has been in business since 2003, clearly visible on the map and it is the only non-fast food restaurant in the eastern part of the city.
I don't know who is reviewing my nominations, but they are certainly ignorant of the criteria.
Your nomination doesn't look anything out of the ordinary, the abuse doesn't make sense if everything that you state is true.
Don't worry about your account, there are many examples of people that have been abusing Wayfarer big time and nothing has happened to them.
I would want to see some supporting info in a proper restaurant guide or award, not something on TripAdvisor or Google, these are too easily manipulated.
I've been asking myself the same question for a few days. Because for the first time a suggestion from me was rejected as an abuse. I am now also afraid of the consequences, although I have not done anything wrong.
What "proper restaurant guide"? Michelin? Why? Niantic criteria says "popular restaurants", not "only restaurants listed in a Michelin-type of a guide". I have used google reviews of restaurants for most of my choices while travelling and never got disappointed. If you (and other reviewers) have been using this "requirement" as a rule to validate submissions, no wonder that close-to-none restaurants get accepted....
I'm not using it as a "rule", and I don't think others are either. Personally, I never use any review sites like Google or Tripadvisor, I don't trust them. Do you have links to any local news stories or newspaper articles? Has it won any awards? Why is it different from every other restarant in town?
Appeal Denied - Thanks for the appeal, Trainer. We're not currently reviewing Pokéstop/Gym candidates. Please resubmit the nomination by improving its title/description if you feel that it was a valid nomination.
@NianticAtlas please read the topic again, it is some points that need be clerified
No, Niantic can't appeal rejected nominations. You have to resubmit it again.
Try asking for some improvement at Nomination Improvement section if you wish. I believe this one can made it.
