I still submit because I love knowing that I have the chance to make someone's day when I discover wayspots. My current batch east of the meridian is doing wonderfully and I am 6/6 of the 12 or so I submitted in November so far. Creating new wayspots for communities without expecting a thank you is a wonderful feeling.
But staring at a sub that is almost 600 days old that is STILL IN QUEUE is some of the most depressing parts of this. Having niantic "promise to get back to me" but just not hurts.
I've still got over 100 subs from my home limbo cell stuck somewhere. No more can go in voting because many are blocking each other.
Remember niantic prioritised photo reviews in Wayfarer over finding out why communities like ours cannot get anything to full review without a miracle.
There's so much niantic could do to make Wayfarer better. Even a spotlight event once a month to help clear the backlog in Africa or Pacific Islands. Just ANYTHING.
My own problem is ignored because I am one person with one problem in a place that doesn't need fixing because of where I happen to live. It's becoming prevalent now in so many more communities and only now are people starting to speak up a little more.
Yes I agree with that. Unless the photosphere is several years old then I disregard it, especially if it has been put there purely to accompany the nomination.
If you see a sign in the middle of a forest and can't see it on satellite then 3* it unless it is inconsistent - e.g. Name of a different forest
Rating Location Accuracy
Rate 5 stars if you can find the Wayspot nomination on the map and the marker is on or within a few feet of the object’s real-world location
Rate 3 stars if the Wayspot nomination is likely to exist in the real-world location if obscured by trees, or if you are unsure of the real-world location
Rate 1 star if the Wayspot nomination cannot be found on the map
Getting a 4 day cool down period is always frustrating. Is there any way of removing or reducing the length of time for these cool downs? We want to help move nomination’s along, but it’s hard to do so when we spend such lengths of time unable to review.
Seems the new banned words are a problem when one of those words is just part of a bigger word. I have just experienced it while making a submission:
Seems "Viladóniga", the name of a local place, is treated as "niga". I could submit it as "Viladónig" hoping to be able to edit it later, but it doesn't work either.
What would be the solution for these cases? Incomplete or wrong titles shouldn't.
I last tried to give the wayfarer exam in October and since then niantic is not allowing me to give the review exam anymore. Please look into the matter as I thought the cooldown period was 1 month only.
This would rule out supporting information where you need to submit a local hot spot - you wouldn't be able to say "this cafe is a local hotspot and gets 5* on tripadvisor"
Is it possible to change the "why should this be a waypoint" question to "what makes this point of interest unique?
This will get the information we actually want from the submitter and will prevent the "because there arent any pokestops near here"answer.
Also, I realize this is a major change, but if the first question the submitter is asked is "what is this" and then they select - it could then give the criteria related to that specific thing. This would help eliminate things like submissions at elementary schools, fire houses, things occurring in nature, walmart, etc.
(You could do same on the reviewer side so folks who arent as versed on the criteria could make better decisions)
In German at most questions noone knows that you want from the voters. The same with the two main question culture/historic and unique. Please give a clear way through the voting. Please.
I would love to see a new option to choose entitled "yet another fake submission in Mexico" since I get a few a week (2 today).
Seriously though, I have a question about game references. You said there would be a filter but I know today I got one that said Pokemon in the description but I was still getting it - is it filtering us from seeing it? Also, what if what you are submitting legitimately has a word from a game in it. For example, recently I submitted a piece of artwork that had "Portal" in the title of the artwork. Would that be rejected because the artist named it "Portal"?
I've done 3 or 4 nomination in past few days. And today morning when I opened wayfarer nomination section. It only shows the nomination which are accepted or rejected. All the nomination which are in voting or in queue are not showing. And are completely gone like someone has deleted those. I haven't withdrawn any nomination so how my nomination is gone. Is there any problem in the server or something else. Please let me know
It could have been removed when they manually review nominations or it may have been caught in a word filter. Also, if other reviewers reported the nomination as abuse, Niantic would remove it after confirming the reports.
when doing reviews, can there be an option to not be shown ones that are written in different languages? I cant skip them and its hard to review something I cant understand
Can the watermark guideline be clarified once and for all by using a consistent phrasing?
In the rejection criteria, a photo is described as ineligible, when it contains a watermark. Thats the version that fits with previos AMA and forum discussions.
But in the photo guidelines, it says that only copyrighted photos (e.g. watermarked stock photos) are ineligible. That would exclude camera watermarks as they are only advertisement and they do not have a protective purpose and lead to such misinterpretations, which caused the watermarked images in showcase.

wont happen, here in germany noone does this. Niantic has been clear about this things, 3* them if you cant see whats in the forest from maps.

Can we please have a PSA letting people know that neighborhood signs are not acceptable? I've been seeing way too many in review.

solo tienes 2 oportunidades si suspende no puedes hasta que niantic cambie la norma

No hay ninguna validación de video para aprobar una nominación.

@NianticCasey-ING will there be consequences for those who are submitting fake? I hope so! Like losing all accounts from that email and all waypoints.

In german the same i make a normal discription and cannot sent it, because it should have banned words but there was none of these words

Are your nominations in India by any chance? Niantic are reviewing those internally prior to the India Wayfarer Challenge.
So will I get my nomination back or it's just wasted and I've to re-nominate that again.
Check the news article about it: https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/12810/an-update-on-wayspots-in-india#latest
Niantic does not "refund" the nomination slots if they remove a nomination from the queue.
And on what basis do they remove it. Is there any information regarding that. Do they mail us anything or just simply remove that.
It could have been removed when they manually review nominations or it may have been caught in a word filter. Also, if other reviewers reported the nomination as abuse, Niantic would remove it after confirming the reports.
