And otherwise, if it's not a joke. It's our collective responsibility to make sure everyone is safe here. To remain silent while seeing this kind of message is wrong.
There's a lot of prevention help hotline and website if the OP needs help. Mexico seems to be the country of OP : http://www.saptel.org.mx/
In regards to the tab situation, I meant that as an easter egg, it's not a reflection of my mental health or the veracity of the other subjects spoken in this discussion. I sincerely apologize If it came as insensitive or disrespectful, It's not my intention to belittle or minimize the severity on mental health conditions or the people who are affected by it, I'm really sorry. For further clarification, the second one is "JK I wouldn't do it over this :v".
Quick update, I nominated it again after creating the photosphere on Google Streetview on the 2nd of February 2021, and today I got a rejection email, again, still stating that it was impossible to validate the real world location of the nomination. Is there anyone I can tag here or get in contact with that could give a better look into it? I really don't think nominating again will change the outcome since reviewers don't seem to be capable enough of using the tools provided to them.
I apologize for not translating this time since it says basically the same thing I described on the previous two nominations, a brief summary of the mural's creation date and the artist's name, where it is located in relation to the church and the access through the park, a simple kind reminder that they need to adjust the streetview's default location to appreciate the existence of the POI on the map, etcetera.
Church is already a POI. The artwork is a separate and eligible target.
--
Pity to hear it was rejected. If it were me, I'd propably take a little break and try again later.
Different approach to support text is sticking to facts and trying avoid the exhaustive wall of text. I know, seems odd coming from me. ;)
"Commissioned artwork by X.X. Permanently installed underside of the entrance shade, see support photo. Location can be checked from the photosphere placed in front of the entrance (park side). "Normal" streetview shows the nearby alley."
Stop upgrading it. Just submit it and let your local reviewers review it. Also dependinf on where the church poi is this maybe within the 20m range where your nomination if accepted may not show up regardless so keep that in mind. May not be worth your time
The mural is further than 20m from any other existing POI and I'd be on its own Lvl17 S2 cell, so I would appear on Pokémon GO, the reason I keep wasting upgrades on it is because I would really like to have approved on the map before the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event, I'd be a great addition to the suburb's pokestops density and hopefully retain players from travelling to far away from home when planning their routes to maximize their odds on getting shinies or otherwise powerful/coveted Pokémon.
Without an upgrade it would simply take more than a year to go into voting, the place I live, Mexico city has a long waiting queue.
I might just try this one more time before giving up, its clear to me now that reviewers don't really put to much interest on information about the cultural or historical value of a nomination, but rather it's accessibility, I'll take your advice and cut the chance and try a more assertive approach, maybe then I would work 😞
I think you should get a bit closer in your supporting photo, as it still seems very easy to miss the artwork on the underside of the roof if you don't know what you are looking for. Hold the camera as low as possible, pointing up, so that the art is clearly visible along with the doorway.
Honestly you're right I'm going to try one more time before I give up and stop wasting my upgrades, i've faith and a couple of days before the event, so I might as well 😅
I was referring to the supporting photo, actually. That said, I do think the main photo of the most recent submission is better at showing the art in context than the previous one.
Because then you'd get people abusing the feature, moaning that this fake object by their house didn't get accepted.
What people actually need is better, more detailed feedback about how to improve their nominations. Most of the time submissions fail because of an unconfirmable location, and by extension a lack of proof of safe access.
This is why once a month I live stream myself doing Wayfarer. It helps to have someone give initial unscripted and honest opinions about what they say. The small community I stream it for appreciate how useful it is not just for submitting but for reviewing too.
One day Niantic will promote Wayfarers who truly want to see their system get better and get involved heavily in wayspot creation but that day is not today.
Not gonna lie, that'd be awesome, being promoted to very special explorer :v, but, don't they have already a reputation metric system? What does it do again?
Quick update, I tried to contact Niantic Support on Twitter, and they told me to create a new discussion on the community wayfarer forums, which I did, they also told me that they can't overrule the desision made by the community and change the status of a rejected wayspot (which I already knew) but they told me to nominate it again and to contact them if I felt it could get rejected again, and I did, i informed them from the situation I let them know my conserns regarding the ability to see from Google Streetview the right location, but they went radio silent, like for real, they ignored me hardcore even though they asked me to re-submit again, like why do they do that if they don't want to help me? Anyway 😅, just wanted to update this discussion, and to say that I'll try one more time after the Kanto Tour and just link the photosphere of Google and the wayfarer discussions in the supportive information section, to see if that makes any difference.
This is exactly what I thought it should happen, however I wasn't sure, that's why I contacted Niantic Support on Twitter, but I only got ghosted 😅 it doesn't seem to be loading the photosphere view and therefore it keeps getting rejected 😞
I have had photospheres not load when there were other bad photospheres dumped on Google Maps - have you looked to see if there are others and reported them to Google Maps if they are wrong? That has worked for me.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I've checked on Google to see if there were any other photospheres that might be interfering, but my photosphere is the only one close to the Wayspot location.
This is the most valuable piece information that I could ever wished for, thank you very much, I was able to see the reviewing perspective of my previous nominations and confirmed that they were not seeing the photosphere, they are in fact seeing a closed street behind the park, now I know it's not my fault (and neither theirs tbh), it might not resolve my problem but at least gives me peace of mind, I'm ready to let go this Wayspot, at least until Niantic comes up with a proper tool to appeal something this particular. I'm going to try one last time the weekend after Kanto tour before letting it go, I plan to place the marker exactly where the sphere is and hope it loads that instead, the Wayspot's location would be slightly off, but nothing that can't be fixed later. Thank you so much ❤️💚
You sent a message to the Twitter general support and they just copy/pasted the typical response about not being able to change the outcome and redirected you to the Wayfarer forums, but they never stated that anyone would look at your nominations. That's just your mind trying to read more than what's written and so you had false hopes on something that never would happen.
Dear fellow explorer, i understand your innate necessity to white knight for a company behind some of your favourite games, however, you can't blame a fellow explorer for seeking help when needed, it's their job to provide support, we shouldn't be conditioned to hope to get assistance, but to be certain that we will actually get it when needed or at the very least, not to be ghosted nor radio silenced. it's absolutely frustrating and disapointing to open a space for conversation and help that they won't even look into. Have a nice day
I'm only telling you that you've tried get more from the replies that they sent you that what's written. Check other people claiming that their nominations have been incorrectly rejected and compare the responses that Niantic provides with yours.
They won't look at your nomination because you really think that it should be approved or because you send them lots of messages through every possible way, you're another player like millions around the world.
They could look at your problem if you had paid for an item and it didn't work, but you're only sending a nomination, there are thousands of nominations sent constantly and they won't look at yours, no matter how good do you think it is. They'll tell you the same thing over and over again: improve title, description, picture and nominate again. That doesn't mean (no, really, it doesn't) that anyone from Niantic will look at your new nomination. It's the same text that it's in the rejection email.
And that's precisely the problem, any explorer that needs technical assistance and/or official review from Niantic support should be able to get it, similarly as we can currently appeal any other form of map alterations, there should be a tool that explorers can use for nominations mistakenly rejected, even if it's not exactly the same or if it has some boundaries, like a one appeal per month rule.
What I want to highlight is, that nominating time after time it's not going to solve anything if there is an underlying problem to address first, one that can't simply be "improved" by changing the title, description or imagery presented, at some point they should review the nomination themselves.

Because the second Google search was "JK...", I'm therefore assuming it's a joke about this nomination being rejected.

I understand that but you need people in your local area to review it lol. Usually upgrades if its not a 100% thing it gets turned down lol

I guess I'm gonna do that, even if it means the main photo being off-centered a bit, I'm willing to try anything at this point, thanks.

If you make the photosphere it should pop up on the maps no? I don’t see a reason to link it in supporting info lol but good luck

There is a way to check what streetview / photosphere is the default for the reviewers. Make a search for the text below if you want to do so.
"Nomination StreetView preview (See what StreetView sphere other reviewers get to see for your nominations)"
