Hello there,
ten days ago one of my wayspots got accepted. However - it's not implemented in Pokemon Go, yet.
When the spot got accepted, another invalid spot was at it's place, blocking the new one.
Meanwhile the invalid spot got deleted (thank you very much!):
It would be nice, if you could implement the new spot now in Pokemon Go, so I don't have to go through validation process with it again.

There have been several of these cases. Niantic won't do anything about that. You definitely have to resubmit the wayspot.
Sadly, the POI got autorejected for Ingress so it cant get used as a "back-up". You need to resubmit it to get it ingame. But I can tell you that there is no doubt in getting this accepted. Very cool monument/installation :)
