No local reviews?

Tried to search, but couldn’t find anything about this. Is there any info on how we get assigned reviews?
I have been doing reviews for about 3 hours now, with a few breaks. I have had reviews from all over England and some in France and Germany. But zero from anywhere within 30 miles of my area.
There are quite a few nominations currently in voting in this area, so it’s not a case of “there are no local nominations”.
Please tell me how this process works?

I am based in South East UK, and I get to review all of the UK, including all of Ireland, and some of France.
I do feel the induction to Wayfarer really pushes "local knowledge" which to me meant reviewing things in my area where I recognised them or might visit one day. But what it seems to mean is "knowledge of your country, and neighbouring ones"
It's very normal for me to do a whole review session, or even a whole week of them and only see 1 review from an area I've ever even been to

If I'm not mistaken you get to review submissions in a radius of about 250 km around the place you indicated as home-location. The same goes for your bonus location.
I already got nominations that were submitted in my own town.
Of course you won't be able to review your own submissions or pick which ones you want to review
It's well over a 250k radius for me. Probably in excess of 300 miles.
Set your home location under settings. Keep in mind that it can never be changed though. You can also set a bonus location that change be changed every 12 months.
I believe reviews are based on those two set locations and where you are currently playing.
I set my home location as the first thing I did on wayfarer. I also set my bonus location and they are the 2 towns I've lived in. Unfortunately they are only 100 miles apart, so this probably has no bearing at all on what I get to vote on. I work 14 miles from my home location, so again, when I actually attend work and play in that town (which hasn't happened for a year due to Covid) this also has no bearing on what I get to review because it is all "too close", even though separate towns and different counties.
you wont get much, because niantic doesnt want you to review your friends submissions.
You rather should review things in far away places.

I wish I could at least set my languages so I'm not trying to review nominations I'm unable to read. At least my home country I know how to look up and address of what looks like a private residence whether it's a commercial property or zoned residential.
I do get reviews for my local area but they are few and far between, properly an intentional thing by Niantic to prevent local bias.
out of 500 reviews i had like 20 in my town and around 100 in an area of 50 km. and lots of stuff from very far away, possibly upgrades from other ppl.
