Hello, I know I am posting a lot but I have many questions regarding certain places. Would a judo club be a good nomination? I am thinking so since it promotes exercise, yet I’m not sure if It is a generic business. Thoughts?
If you don't have anything special to say about it, then surely sounds like generic business.
A sport club is a good nomination if it is not a business.
yes, it is a good nomination. It helps a lot if it doesn't belong to a chain.
Focus on their history and what unique thing it has to offer. Normally , non-chain judo clubs have some kind of history. google them and use that info in the description and say that it is non-chain exercise place.
because judo clubs are great for exercise and social gather. like it is in the criteria.
not generic at all.
Thank you so much! It’s a local judo club and is not a chain at all. It’s located within a community center, and has an official page and everything. Founded in 1921 as well. How would I nominate it? A picture of their sign with hours and information on their building?
Is there a club sign on the building? Yes - nominate that that. No - you are out of luck.
Before you submit, check that the community centre is not already a Waypoint, if it is you may be wasting a nomination.
gym are considered good so a judo club should follow the same reasoning
The place it is located is with the SFV Japanese-American Community Center, and it is currently a Wayspot for both Ingress and Pokemon Go. But, the buildings are separate. The sign for the club is next to the Nikkei Pioneer Building, which has the perfect spot for being the right location in Ingress and as well as Pokémon Go. It’s held at the Nikkei Pioneer Building and a gym behind it. Their “main” spot is at the building.
Judo clubs are great places for exercise and also socialising so they meet criteria. I don't believe being part of a chain changes that.
I think generic business is no longer a rejection critieria, so if the business is a good place to socialise, exercise or explore then it can be eligible with the criteria update, even if it is a chain. But anyway, in my country I've never seen a chain judo club - all the ones I've practiced at have been run by local coaches pretty much independently, so this isn't really a concern.
@longdistances-PGO If the new wayspots is under 20 meters of any existing wayspot, the new wayspot won't show up in any game. So, don't waste your time.
Check intel map with IITC plugin or Pogo tools plugin. If the wayspot will be under the black circle, it won't show up anywhere.
Looking at the Ingress Intel map, the SFV Community Center is already well supplied with Waypoints, so it is very unlikely your Judo Club Waypoint would go live in PoGo or even make it into the game.
Generic business is still a rejection criteria. It is something that a reviewer can choose to waive but many use it as a hard line that cannot be crossed.
Ah okay, I play both Pogo and Ingress. The direct building is in between the playground and the Veterans Memorial place. Maybe I could place it there? It won’t appear in PoGo but in Ingress it will. Also, the Veterans Memorial is in an incorrect spot so I’ll have to move it.
Good luck on the judo club. I nominated a jiu-jitsu club, which got rejected because the "real-world location of the nomination appears to have explicit or inappropriate activity".
Generic business is no longer listed as an option to select. A business meeting no criteria would now probably be rejected as "other rejection criteria", but a judo club does meet 2 of the main criteria.
yes, "generic business" is no longer a reject reason in the list to choose from. Thank god niantic remove it, reviewers never understood it. EVERY kind of business was "gEnEriC BuSineSS"...
but generic business is still one rejection criteria:
and don't forget, that things inside those generic businesses are eligible (like murals or statues, for example).
Reviewers confuse those submissions because since those ,example, murals are inside a macdonalds, that murals are to be rejected.
Dang. False rejection. Should be accepted as a great place to be social and promotes exercise.
