Restore Portal - Appeal Denied - Why ?
Since you are now partly justifying why an Appeal is rejected, I would like to come back to the following 3 appeals.
Can you tell me why the wayspots of the churches were deleted even though the buildings still exist?
Has the Church made a complaint or has a player reported it?
I would submit the churches again, but not if there is a risk that they will be removed again. So please tell me the reasons right away, it will probably save both of us a lot of work.

I still don't understand why these 3 wayspots were deleted. Why such important buildings - in villages where there is almost nothing anyway? They are villages ... hardly anyone plays there, nobody can have been bothered by large groups or players.
If the wayspots could still be restored after all, I would be very grateful.

Or what about, for example, this appeal from my buddy? A train station was deleted. It is safe to access, trains only run every 2 hours and the train only stops for 5 minutes. It is also a village that doesn't have much. He even offered to submit a new photo of the station building itself if the location is set to the old location of the building and the wayspot is restored. Also here I would be very grateful if the decision is explained or, ideally, even the wayspot is restored!

Thanks for reaching out, @Brukterra-PGO! They're quite old reports I see but I will be glad to share insights on their rejection reason with you.
The three reports you've shared were denied because the POI's were located inside a cemetery.
Coming to LukeAllStar's report, it was denied due to the location of the POI which is situated in between railway tracks.
I hope I've cleared up your queries.
Thank you for your prompt reply!
I don't know how it is in other countries, but I hope you are aware that 99% of all churches in Germany are in cemeteries? Where else should they be ?! Does this mean that churches are not valid candidates even though they are historically and locally significant? And just because they have a sensitive location? If such a succinct reason is enough, all churches in my country are invalid. I refrain from submitting these 3 again. The risk that they will be deleted again is too great for me with the time invested.
Can Luke's request please be reconsidered? As suggested by him, you can move the wayspot to the station building (where it was originally accepted!) And then we could simply submit a new photo of the building. After all, the wayspot stands for the entire station and not specifically for this one sign. If you can show insight into this one Case, that would be really nice. I think you understand how important a train station is for people in the village. So theoretically it does not fail because of the overall package, but only because of the location - which can be changed.
Thanks for the follow-up. I'll consult with the team regarding the reports and revert to you.
@NianticGiffard May I know why this appeal was rejected.
The discussion was closed and the reason of denying appeal was not mentioned anywhere in the thread.
Thank you
I think he will be kind enough to answer you, but I would be fine if you opened your own thread for it.
Sure! The appeal was rejected since the POI has no pedestrian access.
Maybe an idea would be to always tell the reason why the appeal got rejected. This might help the appealing Wayfarer to argue if needed.
At least it will save us looking over posts which say "Why was this nomination rejected". If the reason for removals were given then we could move straight on to Phase 2 of the argument process ("But we can access it from the street so it can't be PRP") much faster.....
Hi there, @Brukterra-PGO, I have some information to share with you! Those three cemeteries were retired at the request of the property owner or a representative who manages the locations.
For LukeAllStar's report, each PokéStop/Gym represents an object in the real world and it is not possible to move these in-game locations away from the objects they represent. From the images and map tools available, the Pokéstop/Gym was at the correct location and we are unable to move it away from the object it represents. As it does not meet our criteria, and therefore, we cannot reinstate it at this time.
Okay, so no other player is responsible for the deletions. Was a complete deletion really necessary?! Couldn't the locations have just been deactivated in Pokémon Go ?! I think that's a shame. But well, that cannot be changed now.
By the way, for information: The churches are all very old - they are located in the cemetery depending on your perspective - but they were all there a long time BEFORE the cemetery. The cemetery was built around it. Especially since the wayspots did not represent the cemetery but the churches there.

So it will be necessary to submit the train station again, but this time to photograph the building instead of the sign - although both are representative of the train station. Well, I guess I have to accept that.
😔
Thank you for your efforts.

But I still have one last question: For players like me, e.g. at Ingress, the statistics of "discovered portals" play a major role. But if something is deleted and the number does not reflect what is really still there, it is somehow a shame and falsifies the values. Is it possible to speak to the Wayfarer team about this? So that if a submitted portal is deleted, the statistics also deduct points?
That would be a satisfactory compromise for me. Because even if the decisions have now been explained to me and I can understand them to some extent, I don't really feel comfortable with them.
Its not always whats necessary but what the property owner requests
So taking the sign which is not between railroad tracks would be eligible.
You're right.
If they choose the location from the identical sign in front of the building, shouldn't it be okay?
