Should the system stay up while critical bugs are happening?

Serious question, serious topic.
There are currently at least two major bugs happening - the glaringly obvious lack of supporting information anywhere; and the weird bug(s?) that are causing many duplicate edits/nominations to appear.
These two bugs are seriously impairing the ability of reviewers to correctly evaluate the eligibility of nominations. A lot of the hard work of both nominators and reviewers is rendered useless while these bugs are still ongoing.
Do you think Niantic should temporarily take Wayfarer offline as long as these bugs are unfixed, in order to prevent further damage to nominations currently in voting?

Do you think anyone in Niantic knows, yet?
I would like to think they do, and are just delaying comments on the situation until they've got more information to give us/until they're allowed to comment.
But realistically, there's a good chance they aren't even aware of all of this yet, yes.
I’m sure they will take some action Soon™️
I think Wayfarer definetly should be offline until these bugs are fixed.
They can cause real damage to all nominations that got it voting - they will be wrongly choosen as duplicates because of second bug, or will be rejected because they lack support text. It's definetly not good :/
I'm also not sure, if anyone from Niantic know somethings is wrong, I hope they will look on forum soon.
@NianticGiffard , @NianticAaron, @NianticGray (the most active mods I remember), if you know about it issue, let us know that your team works on it. As @SiIverLyra-PGO mentioned, maybe temporarily closing Wayfarer until you found what causing these bugs and fixing it would be the best idea? It's not working as intedent now, and fixing it should be more important that reviewing new nominations. I hope we get some information from you soon.
On a serious note, until the bugs are fixed some people will get their nominations reviewed unfairly.
Supporting information is vital for some nominations with the history of a POI, links for a trail, additional PDF links etc. so if it’s not taken offline/fixed, some people would have just cause to appeal any rejected POI during this time.
Yes, a post with a picture got approved in my discussion. And this only happens when a Mod checks it. So someone should have noticed it.
Mods aren't necessarily the ones actually doing anything, though. They could contractors or even Vanilla staff themselves.
What I am worried about is all the "duplicate" rejections. Are they actually duplicates or has the system gone haywire to the point that submissions are "showing" up as valid stops when in actuality that are still in voting and it only looks like a duplicate.
In the past, some of my reports got approved and there was a comment by a Mod instantly. Also, when you report a bug and check your notifications, you can click the Niantic logo on the "your status has changed" notification to see who approved it.
My review area also changed a bit:
I never ever had an edit from Denmark, now I got one that is quite far away from my normal review area:
additionally, my last 5 nominations were all from Denmark. This is also quite uncommon.
Something is going on, I've seen two exact duplicate nominations to review as well as three edits (at 870km and 1,020km and 1,236km) farther than my normal 800km ish range.
The mods approving the images may not be the same as the ones who comment, and even then it may just be an approval queue that they have to check off.
No.
It should close and an announcement be immediately made on the Wayforum and Twitter.
What they shouldn't do is play games with Wayforum posts, moving them around and merging irrelevant posts.
A clear announcement would help mitigate duplicate posts and ease worry.
@ Whichever mod who did it - thanks for restoring this discussion.
I'm really hoping we'll get any sort of comment from Niantic on this situation, sooner rather than later.
I still think temporarily shutting down reviews would be best, but at least an acknowledgement of the current issues would be nice.
I've done 5 nominations today. This bug will not help things :D I kinda need that info. I spent over an hour doing them now for it to all of disappared. Thing is tho i saw the info go live after i pressed "Done" so, it could be a visual error on the website.
