Maybe trail markers, if there's any. Info signs next to the town hall / community centers might be good. Libraries? Maybe even some stores that are not chain brand / has been operational since 80's etc.
Here in Finland, my small home town used to be pretty deserted few years ago (7 kilometer bike ride between closest pokestops). Maybe about 14 pokestops within 100 kilometer radius.
Due to the pandemic and people unable to travel to other countries, there was sudden surge of tourists visiting less travelled places (such as my home town) which lead to the fact that every possible hiking / skiing / informational sign turned into pokestop.
I had a good laugh when I visited my home town after a while and saw that the usual spots where I used to play had 40+ pokestops instead of usual 3 that I was used to seeing.
Read the criteria, browse the forum a bit if your unsure of certain nominations. Nominate things 🤷♂️ When i started i stuck to sport fields, churches, playgrounds and parks until they were all covered. Then work to more borderline nominations
One big problem with rural areas is that they first need to be at level 38/40 to nominate/review the stops! But they need the stops to level up in the first place!
True, just go onto a discord or reddit and start adding friends. You can still open something like 20 gifts a day and within a handful of months you will get to 38 to be able to nominate
You can level up without access to a bunch of pokestops or gyms. All the stops and gyms are for is to supply you with more pokeballs and gold coins to buy pokeballs form the cash shop.
I'm not sure what you are asking for? Can you write some more?
For example: If you're asking if you can nominate dirt road, then answer is no, it's not something eligible, roads just aren't eligible Trails can be eligible, but you need an anchor for them to nominate, like trail markers.
If you mean something else, then please explain it more :)
None of the above but I will be looking. I had to give up spinning daily stops because it is such a hassle. I live in a very rural area. Farms and stables etc. A few neighborhoods.
If your town is so small that you don't have a grocery store, gas station, or other conveniences supplying life necessities, it's unlikely that you'll have many game-eligible spots to submit either. In those cases, you may need to get proactive: work with your Town Assessor to identify public lands, work with other government officials to get a Little Free Library placed on those public lands, or signs for parks or trails, maybe a gazebo. Find a scout troup and help with an Eagle Scout project. It's a lot of work, but in those cases you can improve conditions both within and outside of games! If there are active Orienteering, Geocaching, or Nature groups (including hunters!) around, they might be able to show you some nice places they've found in their travels.
Living in rural area really is a challange. I've nominated local shopping centre it got rejected for being temporary seasonal display. Information board that got rejected for not having pedestrian access then pedestrian walkway is visible in the photo. Plus google street view is 3 years behind in my area.I personaly accept all nominations, unless they are really bad, because I do not work for wayfarer ans they do not pay me. So the more pokestops the merrier. Good luck sweets!
Yes, i admit I might have used wrong word for area i live. The shopping centre is on the border between town and the village district i live. I don't know how to explain better, but we drive there to shop as it is the closest shop to us. I thought it would be good pokestop as a lot of people go there.
I've appealed for the information sign. As it has access, there is a bus stop just next to it. Itsnot visible on the street view though, it was placed thos summer. For the shop I can not appeal for some reason.
As for the shop, I don’t see how it meets criteria so wouldn’t resubmit or Appeal it.
For the sign, what does it actually tell the person looking at it? Does it say about events and such or is it just saying “a new pathway was built”? If the latter that sounds like it may be temporary? It’s not going to be a “new” pathway next year.
Didn't know about the appeal time frame. Thanks for the info.
The sign says that the pathway was reconstructed to be suited for pedestrians and bicycles. Who done it and who to contact. These are not removed as far as i know. Seen several about projects supported by european union. Those stay untill they rust.
If both are not good for pokestops, i don't have anything else. Unless try to submit area name plate/sign.
That may be okay then but you’d need more information in your nomination’s description and some details of why you think it meets explore/exercise/social in your Supporting.
Yes you can resubmit something. You’ll have to go back to where it was as you’re doing it via Pokémon GO and it has limited remote submission range. Try for a better photo also.
If you've got anything along these lines I would try and submit them. Hopefully you have a town hall or Agriculture Hall in your play area to submit too
It would have been better if you'd filtered your contributions to only include Rejected and Appealed. You give three screens to show scant information about three rejections. Better to share details of those rejections.
Get a primary picture of the disc golf sign, first tee, or map. That thumbnail looks like just a field.
Boat launch is just going to be iffy. Some reviewers don't think it's a great idea, to encourage random gamers to gather right at a body of water.
Plaza sign is also going to be iffy results. No one gathers at the sign. Explain that it represents all the shops, where people go to explore or socialize (whatever you think they do).
I agree, I took those shots while at work, I just wanted to give the player a general overview of what I've submitted, and to give them an idea what works and doesn't.

Churches, for sure. They might have a pavilion in the back for events, that's another.

So what about dirt roads? There is really nothing here. I get 1 pokemon spawn a hour.

guys, if it is too rural, there wont be much. just face the music.
if you are talking germany, you could sumbit
Hit me up with your location and i could see what i can google
What does dirt roads have to do with what is eligible as a Wayspot?
Would you mind sharing a few communities you're thinking of? Outside eyes can often find things you've overlooked, and region matters a lot.
Community centers, town halls, sports fields, artwork, and many more can be great.

Woah, necro'd post!
I love travelling to regional and rural areas. Queues are razor fast. Most reviewers have their heads screwed on so many decisions are fair and right.
Can you share your nominations? There may be something you’ve missed or can improve on for a resubmission.
So rural that you have a shopping center?
Remote is rather the theme here

“Because a lot of people go there” isn’t acceptance or eligibility criteria for a Wayspot.
It needs to be at least one of:
Please take a look

You only get one Appeal every 30 days.

You may be interested to read this @demonija1-PGO
It is one of the Wayfarer Ambassador’s goals so if you have ideas on it, you can add them there.
Is it possible to resubmit the same nomination? I'll try to add more information to it. I'll also try for area name sign.
Yes you can resubmit something. You’ll have to go back to where it was as you’re doing it via Pokémon GO and it has limited remote submission range. Try for a better photo also.
I live in a small town less than 1300 people, I'll share what I've submitted and what's gotten approved and rejected. Perhaps it can help you.
If you've got anything along these lines I would try and submit them. Hopefully you have a town hall or Agriculture Hall in your play area to submit too

In rural Oklahoma. I have nominated the Senior Citizens Center. I will see if it passes.
