Hi guys, I have a question.
Could someone explain to me how the cells work in the game? That is, how to know how closely I can request a wayspot from another?
I want to specify that Mainly in PoGo
Thanks

Google search "pokemon go cell rules" will give you all the information you need
That is not a discussion Niantic allows to be had in here.
Sorry to bother you with my doubt
I have already found a page that simulates the map of your area
If you mean pogomap, it's not reliable. "Iitc and pogo tools plugin" might give better results.
No? Well, I have filled all my town and surroundings 🧐 haha

Ups, we're sorry that you were not able to find the proper information. I hope that this doesn't bring you too many problems in the future, it would be better for you to ignore pogomap asap.
Wow! it's humor time!
I really just want to know about the cells so as not to waste time requesting stops that will never be published
Your reply made me laugh probably more than mine made you laugh. Cheers.

You should also note that a candidate must be more than 20 meters away from any existing Wayspot/Portal in order for it to be considered. If you nominate something in a free "cell" and 20 metres from the nearest PokéStop/Gym it must also be 20 meters away from any "hidden" Portals in Ingress.
As mentioned earlier, Pogomap is unreliable. "IITC" with PoGO plugins is probably the most reliable method. Both are "3rd party sources" not endorsed by Niantic.

To your comment about only wanting to help PoGO, some people anecdotally claim that "hidden" Wayspots help increase spawns, but that may have never been true and just confirmation bias or may have changed over the years; not sure there was ever a comprehensive study behind it, at least not one I've trusted.
If you see something realy interesting: submit it, occupied cell or not
It will take you more time to check if a cell is free or not?
And why not spend 2 minutes on a submission which is valid but might not appear in PoGo?
Wayfarer is not PoGo only, and neither are reviewers ;-)
Rule 1
Anything submitted within 20 meters of a portal in ingress will not appear in any game, even if accepted
Rule 2
Only one pokestop/gym per the smaller cells (I forget the level). Used to be if a pokestop/gym was edited (legitimately or not) into a cell that already had a stop, then both the stops could be in the cell, but not anymore
Rule 3, after a certain amount of stops in the bigger cell, one of the stops will become a gym, 2 stops makes a gym first cant remember remember the numbers are after that.
For all of this, your best bet is to download ingress, make an ingress account (you can then delete ingress). Download iitc, then download a plug in plug in gives you the cells, this will help with the 20 meters and the cell boundaries (though this isn't always correct, on the rare occasion I've found a gym being made when it wasn't supposed to)
One stop per s17 cell.
Two stops per s14 cell and one becomes a gym.
Then its 6, 20, 32, 64?
s20 cells determine exraid eligibility.
I use INgress Intel Mobile with a PoGo addon.
Wile this may work for other games, for PoGo players it can be very frustrating to waste a submission, review time and perhaps an upgrade on something that will never show up in the game you play because you submitted the part of the structure or building or park that is in a cell that is already filled. I wish Niantic had a better submission platform in PoGo. It would do wonders for reviewing so we don't get flooded with duplicates. Being transparent has never been their strong suit though.
I didnt know it was actually possible to get more than 3 gyms in a cell (apart from the editing when that was a thing)
Just to your point about the hidden wayspots helping g pogo, it may be anecdotal, but I've definitely seen places that have an abundance of spawns which have maybe one or 2 stops in the area, but have a few more portals that aren't stops, and aren't any busier than a similar area that has less portals with the same amount of stops. I've also seen portals have a specific spawn point on them that wasn't there before the portal got in. Again, most likely anecdotal but from what I've read online, it seems similar in many more places, so it does seem the consensus is more portals helps spawns
you might be right, although I think it might be 4 at 34 POI's. I wasn't to sure on the last two; hence the ?. I am in a suburban/rural area and I don't have any s14 cells that have more then 20 POI's locally so I was relying on some online articles. Never can trust what you read on the internet these days.
Niantic has not laid out any of this - it's purely from observations of smart people.
Niantic could change any parameter at any time.
I did think about making a humorous post about nuclei and things like osmosis, but you beat me to the humour with a different kind of cell haha.
My understanding is:
2 Pokémon pois - 1 gym
6 Pokémon pois - 2 gyms
20 Pokémon pois - 3 gyms
That’s it, if you have more than 3 gyms in a gym cell it’s because one was sponsored or a location edit happened.
4 is not possible naturally
