To me it seems like your ban came from submissions or edits, not from doing reviews.
Did you get any recent wayfarer-rejection mails marking a submission as abuse?
I've seen submissions where the nominator actually put "do not move the pin it's too close to another wayspot" in the supportive info or location edits where they also state "pick the one on the left" whereas the actual location is on the right.
If many people hit the Abuse button in such a case it might come up to NIA's attention.
But indeed: they should mention the specific case(s) why they are giving the ban
No. The word to choose, if you wanna talk about both, is submissions .... since .... ever?
I've never read any statement, where Nia uses a phrase like to nominate an edit. But you submit edits, and you submit candidates/nominations. So this is the word, that covers both...
My ban of 30 days is now over, but I must honestly say, what should I now pay attention to better so that I do not collect a 2 Strike and lose my Pokemon GO account. Since this is just before lvl 50 and I have invested a lot as well as in Wayfarer my work done, I now feel very uncertain to even know what was wrong and what I should look out for. 😐️
I just want to get a correct answer, which I have not really either understood or understood. 😣
I just want to continue and expand my projects in terms of Pokestopps, Ingress portals or Harry Potter. 😎
It is a queasy feeling for me to vote again after the 30 days ban, with caution and fear that I will get banned again after 2 days. 🤔
I ask now simply times for a correct position statement and simply ask times for a clarification. It will simply not be so difficult here times as a Niantic employee to properly express what went wrong. 🤔
Finally, there are other players who are worried about their account or have even said that they will avoid the Wayfarer then! ⛔️
If I remember correctly, it was that they were voting for the title/description that said “this is fake”. They should have chosen the current title/description, none of the above, or reported it as a abuse and would have been okay.
All those, who got this ban, that I know, are sure not to have voted in such a way. So it's nethertheless not the real reason and seems to be only a vague pretense....
consequence is simple: no trust in Nia anymore, until they don't show the specific example.
This was also confirmed to be the cause for this specific thread when Giffard referenced the bug report with Casey’s response in the above. And restated the same.
A group was editing wayspots adding "Fake" or "does not exist" to the name or description, intending to later report them as invalid.
Niantic banned the users who submitted these changes and the ones that approved them (they didn't ban who either reported or chose the original title).
There was some debate about what was the best conduct for reviewers in this situation, and the conclusion seems to be that reporting is the most correct one, followed by either choosing the original title or neither of them. The only option that is not acceptable is choosing an obviously wrong title or description (even if the wayspot seems to be invalid).
The quoted thread is regarding different ban situations but this one is essentially about trying to circumvent the process of reporting abuse too.
Niantic stated people were subbing and voting on title/description edits to enter something along the lines of “this is a fake portal” to make it easier to remove. Whether the people who picked that edit were actually trying to avoid the removal process, I’m not sure, but they still picked an edit that lowered the quality of the portal while active in the network.
Niantic are not going to say exactly what happened in detail so you won’t get the help you need.
You need to decide which you are more invested in more your PoGo account or Wayfarer.
without the clear breakdown you risk losing both.
Which loss will mean most?
I’m guessing the PoGo as that account is more personal.
Wayfarer is now high risk for you and yes it will be a wrench not to help but perhaps leave it.
if you do continue then proceed with extreme caution. Use the skip function for anything that might be a concern or log out/ return to profile and wait.
Your rate of review will drop but it’s what you might need to do.
That was a different issue. The wayfairer suggested a location change, and was not happy with where Niantic moved the wayspot, saying his suggestion for the location was safer, although it was by side of the building, instead of by the front.
They replied that if the wayspot is not safe enough he should ask for its removal instead of moving it.
Everyone is supposed to already understand that if they find a Wayspot that could legitimately be placed anywhere along or around a given point (such as the periphery of a building, or the perimeter of a field) and the Wayspot is presently on a less safe side or point, they should learn how to use some reporting mechanism in some distant corner of a Byzantine mess, and should not use the in-game tools.
I understand your concern. I would request you to go through my previously shared response again for insights. That being said, you should be fine as long as you follow the prescribed criteria while reviewing nominations and edits.
@NianticGiffard@NianticTintino-ING@NianticVK@NianticAtlas and other staffs, if these many complaints from this thread are somehow related to massively rejections abuse waves in Germany, then you should've prioritized this whole issue ASAP. I think there are no newer updates yet since the 3rd rejection wave, yes?

Do not approve edits that say "this no longer exists"
Wasn't it that they were suppose to be reporting edit abuse instead of simply rejecting it?
If I remember correctly, it was that they were voting for the title/description that said “this is fake”. They should have chosen the current title/description, none of the above, or reported it as a abuse and would have been okay.
Yeah it was as stated multiple times along the thread by Casey.
Ban because of bad word filter — Wayfarer (nianticlabs.com)

I read where a Niantic official said the ban was for failing to use the official process to report abuse....
I don't remember reading that anywhere.
From memory:
A group was editing wayspots adding "Fake" or "does not exist" to the name or description, intending to later report them as invalid.
Niantic banned the users who submitted these changes and the ones that approved them (they didn't ban who either reported or chose the original title).

Or they may face a ban.

Hello you 3,
please can you give me an answer. I just ask for it.
I am confused and otherwise do not know whether I will vote or leave it completely with Wayfarers.
You guys can't make people wait so long for an answer.
Your last answer was about 3,5 weeks ago and you couldn't read much out of it.
I ask that you finally answer. otherwise my projects that I have now created for the places have been for the cat.
I understand your concern. I would request you to go through my previously shared response again for insights. That being said, you should be fine as long as you follow the prescribed criteria while reviewing nominations and edits.
Thank you.. Now I will vote again. But with a better feel. 👍
Ummm, you're not allowed to accuse someone of cheating on the forums.
I thought you were right on that but couldn’t remember the exact wording.
Here are a few principles of respect to keep in mind:
