What would the guidelines be on memorial gardens?
I know memorial benches are no unless somethi g distinct or for important person, same with memorial plaques. But what about memorial gardens, not inside graveyards I should add, that are open to the public to walk round? Therrs no human remains or anything, it's just a garden where families can have memorials (benches, trees, small figurines, shrines etc.)put up for their loved ones from that area. I'm thinking more along the lines of liem a sign for it or an elaborate entrance

Honestly, named gardens make great Wayspots if there's a sign announcing that it is a garden. Memorial Garden, Community Garden. Just a reular sign that says "Garden" probably won't cut it, but "________ Garden" has always gotten good ratings from me if the blank space isn't a type of plant.

Anything you can highlight to make it stand out from just another pretty garden will help. If there's a sign with a name, I'd make that the focus of the nomination. If the garden is in memory of a specific person, I'd use the description / supporting statement to highlight who that person was and why they were an important member of the community.
@grsmhiker-ING its not a specific person, ors for people to put some kind of memorial in. This is the sign for it though this was taken from street view, I'll obviously get a proper picture when I go to submit
Why am I not surprised two of those "memorial gardens" are graveyards.
You were the one who posted them, google didn't make you.
Those middle two would very much not count as memorial gardens.
@Dice976jr-ING the first and 4th one are closer to what I'm submitting g and think should pass (though I'm going with the sign rather than the garden itself, basically treating it like a park or community garden) but he 2nd and 3rd ones I would say are graveyards, as they clearly have graves, them I wouldnt want to submit
@NianticCasey-ING if we could just get a wee clarification to make sure my thought process is correct, I.e. memorial gardens not in graveyards and no human remains would be ok to submit, the sign being the proxy for it similar to a community garden or park
@Dice976jr-ING I only know of 2 memorial gardens near me (that aren't in graveyards), the one I want to submit and one in a public park, none have remains in them, it's mostly just wee shrines, benches, bushes, trees, things of that nature. In terms if memorial gardens in graveyards though, the ones that I would suspect have remains, it would most likely be the gardens if remembrance where ashes are scattered or kept in urns, those I would not accept on the same grounds that a tombstone wouldnt be acceptable
@Dice976jr-ING thebones in your area must be completely different from the ones in my area then, because memorial gardens near me (googled a few more near me) have zero ashes in them at all, no human remains what so ever, they are gardens maintained bynthe community or park employees and memorial plaques, trees, benches are put in, I'm not saying g younare wrong that there are memorial ones that have ashes, but where I'm fro they would be co sided gardens of remembrance
Has Dice deleted his comments?
But to answer @gazzas89-PGO's question. I can't see an issue with a memorial garden if the sign or something in the garden, like a plaque or statue, is submitted.
@NicoSolheim-ING huh, yeah they have all vanished for me too
I have submitted the sign for it, but given that I just had a BMX track rejected (again) I'm not holding much hope

Either way, fingers crossed for you regarding the memorial garden
