I was extremely excited and eager to participate for this event.
But with the third 4 day cooldown with ABSOLUTELY no explaination as to what is causing this and IF i did something wrong, I have pretty much given up.
I ensured all the "good practices" of not reviewing too fast nor just randomly 5* all, yet here I am.
I got out of the 5000 minute cooldown and did about ~80 reviews and BOOM.
Will this be EVER acknowledged? If not, i dont see the point in reviewing for a few hours and then get blocked for 4 days.
Even tagging Niantic folks isnt helping at this point @NianticCasey-ING @NianticGiffard

actually, cause of the event - many people have changed their home location. then number of reviewers in my location have decreased, query pool for location is slowed down 2x. less nominations to review. so i have now a "limit" of 30 review/day vs ~75 before the event. it ends in some days, then some time people wil change their location back to home, and then you will have things back. and yes, the welldone cooldown is not reduced as promiced.

yes, i use it, but it does not matter. you can avoid 4h cooldown with it, by managing the time spent on review, apart the photo review, there you need to count yourself, and you can gather statistics on how many reviews you can get every day average. stars does not matter too. i have written the comment in other post about the welldone cooldown earlier, but main thing you need to learn here - stop on retry message. continue after, i believe, at least 10-12 hrs. or you will get welldone cooldown instantly, without the retry error message. also if you start to get many photos in a row - you are almost at the end of your pool, you chose when to stop, you always can get the cooldown without the retry message. good luck. niantic does not care about that cooldown :)
For my last cooldown, I did not get any "retry" message. I did get one or two captchas though.
Still pretty annoyed with 3 back-to-back cooldowns. And there is no response or confirmation from Niantic at all.
If they atleast let us know WHAT we need to do better, we could follow. but with no guidance, I'm not sure what change i need to do.
I'm also dealing with chained 4-day cooldowns. After each one, I can do about 20-30 reviews, all given sufficient time (30+ seconds), mix of accepts and rejects based on the criteria, different star values. And yet without a doubt after another small-ish number of reviews, softbanned again. It's infuriating.
I don't use a third-party app (Wayfarer+), and I never look at a clock, count anything, or gather statistics - and I've never gotten a cooldown, in 5 years, over 22,500 reviews.
What I do, is interact with each nomination. For example, if it's obviously 1* I check the satellite view so I can put a location-based reject reason, if there is one. (They might fix a picture or text and resubmit, but if it's at a house - don't resubmit.) Otherwise, I click things that need clicking... enlarge the picture/s, click the title, check existing wayspots, change from streetview to satellite and zoom. As needed. Sometimes I even click into the criteria to check something, and come back. There's no formula, except to have fun, and really care if each wayspot is good or not.
with ~100 reviews/week you will probably never have a cooldown. the limit for me in my area ~ 500-600/week if no event, when most changes their home loc.
Me too! I did like 10 reviews and BAM! Back to cooldown. This blows.
Same story for me, I get the to end of my assigned queue and nothing else for 4 days. I wish they would expand the radius for reviews in this case!
Same here... I too am getting the end-of-queue messages. Not the cooldown message, but the ones stating "Good exploring. See you next time!", "All done for now. See you again soon!", etc. Third time it's happened to me in two weeks, even after changing hometown location for this event. I make it through a handful of reviews after coming out of the 4 days wait period, then started to get these messages again. Is there a support channel we can reach out to for guidance?
@NianticCasey-ING @NianticGiffard Look at the various people its affecting. Some sort of reasoning or what we could do better would help us.
I have switched my bonus location to New York City and have not had a 4 day cool down since. Try that and to avoid 4and24hr cooldowns I will review 12-13 max and let the 20min timer rundown and switch next nomination to vote on and I never get put on cool down anymore. Anything over 12 and you are playing with fire. And I should add I am at 16,667 reviews so I have reviewed what I consider a lot!
I am also getting these same messages "Good exploring. See you next time!" and nothing to review. I don't use Wayfarer +. For the first couple days I had a mix of Russian and local nominations to review. For the last two days I ONLY had Russian nominations to review. I set my home location to St. Petersburg which is a big city so you would think they haven't really run out of things to review. On every single review I copied and pasted the title, description, and supporting information into google translate to read in English so I don't think I was going too fast. With a combination of being on summer break and the Russian Wayfarer Challenge I AM doing a lot more reviews than I normally would. Could that affect it? My rating is still great, so that shouldn't be the problem. I've been frozen with nothing to review for two days now and have watched my number of agreements go up by over 100 just in that time. Is this really going to be a 4 day wait period before I can review again? The Russia challenge will be over by then.
Maybe assigned queue really ends sometimes? My nominations from Russia were accepted within three days. It is very quickly.
The cooldown has been reduced. You can review portals faster before to be considered as a bot. That helps to review all the coal submissions in the queue.
@merethlot-ING My home location is Russia, my bonus location is India and my play area is UAE. That's three different countries.
So I'm pretty sure I did not run out of nominations from all three countries.

I actually thought that the cooldown triggers had been lowered for the challenge so we could review more without being so worried about these?
Normally when I review at the pace I want to review at (I'm a really fast reader), I get the 4 hour cooldown after 20 to 50 reviews. I usually just review till I get a cooldown (or the captcha thing) and then quit for a few days. Since the Russia Challenge I've been able to review a few hundred and my agreements are going up really fast - earnt an upgrade already and lots banked towards the next one and I'm sure quite a lot of my reviews have reached agreement yet.
It's actually been so nice to just be able to review at my own speed and because of that I'm much more motivated to review a lot. I've hardly seen anything from Russia though which is a shame, I was enjoying seeing their beautiful ornate playground equipment and some stunning sculptures.
I think the cooldowns are really demoralising especially when you don't know the reason why so can't change your behaviour if you did do something wrong... and often it seems you haven't even done anything wrong based on rating staying excellent and agreements going up! Hopefully you guys are able to review again soon and are able to participate.
Hi there, @ashwingj-PGO! You might encounter a cooldown if anomalies are detected, regardless of your performance rating. Please make sure you follow the Candidate criteria while you review and aren't using any third-party tools/plugins or shortcuts. If you had any of these in the past, please change your account's password to secure it, which should work. Thanks!
Thank you for your response to this thread @NianticGiffard! Can you speak to the end-of-queue messaging some are receiving? I chose a large city in Russia to participate in the event, so I'm confused as to why there wouldn't be anything waiting in the queue for that area. Any tips for those of us stuck with the end-of-queue messages, or anything we can do besides wait for the remainder of the 4 days to continue to participate in the event?
Maybe I'm just confused and need your help clarifying, is the triggered end-of-queue messaging we are receiving different from the detection of anomalous activity cooldown messaging? It sounds like some of us have used a plug-in and received the end-of-queue messaging. Does the mere use of third-party tools/plugins trigger the end-of-queue waiting period? I admit, I was using a third-party tool to help me simplify translation, and if using that is why I was pushed into this 4 day end-of-queue messaging cycle for the past couple weeks, I will discontinue it's use, wait it out, and move on. It would just be nice to know why we keep hitting the end-of-queue that prevents us from participating. Thank you for listening.
@NianticGiffard seriously? if what, we are talking about the cooldown, with the message "good work, return back later". what the anomalies gan be here with account or rating? if you get this message (or synonyms of the message) you are out for 5000 minutes (or 300000 seconds, or 83hrs or 3,5days). please, read carefully. it is not about 4h cooldown, it is about (almost) 4 days "well done" time out. people, participating in the 15d event get some 4days cooldowns in a row. its a fail imho.

@NianticGiffard Please read the thread again. I am not talking about the “we have detected an anomaly in your review behaviour”, which can result in 4hr or 24hr cool-downs.
I am talking about the “come back when there is new to review”. My hometown is Moscow, my bonus is india AND i play in UAE. There is NO WAY i could have run out of submission from all three countries.
And IF it is due to some anomalous behaviour, TELL US WHAT IT IS so we can correct it.
I got THREE back to back 4day cool-downs. That is almost 12 days out of the 16 day event. And i STILL DO NOT know what i am doing wrong.

Out of 15 days, I was unable to review for 10.5 days

And in one of the above threads, we have @NianticGiffard stating "I'll circle back to you ". This was on March 19th, which was almost three whole months ago.
All we are asking is, what causes the "See you next time!", "Come back soon when there's more to explore!" message. Is it :
Whatever it is, the message is INCORRECT and we as users need to know WHAT we can do to better ourselves. Without ANY form of information, we are just in a loop of cooldown with no knowledge on what to do or not do.
Kindly do look into this and please give us a definite answer.
It doesn't help when you keep calling the end-of-queue message a cooldown. Niantic will give the same standard answer any time you complain about "cool downs" when the problem you are experiencing has nothing to do with hitting a cool down.
@TheFarix-PGO PLEASE PLEASE don't get on this thread as well. Each and every discussion on this forum and reddit, you say this same line. I kindly request you to let Niantic answer themselves, even if its the same thing

I will comment on any topic I see fit and have something to say. Please be respectful and stop telling other people to "shut up" because you don't like what they have to say. Niantic will never address problems with the "end-of-queue" messaging so long as people keeps calling it a "cool down".
I understand your concern. Just to clarify, the nominations are assigned for review as per the Hometown and Bonus locations set by you. That being said, your active play area also has an impact on the nominations you get for review.
Also, as per Casey's announcement in another post, our Wayfarer team is working on devising a plan that may help reduce such instances after careful consideration of various parameters.
I know this post is in earnest, but changing your local play area, bonus, and/or home setting has absolutely no impact on the 4 day "cooldown," and Casey's post was over 6 months ago so I don't think anyone really expects action from that post, anymore.
I appreciate the reply, but the fact remains how are we running out of nominations. For instance, my home town is set to Russia, my bonus is set to India and I currently play in UAE.
That is three different countries (two of which are geographically HUGE). So how can we run "out of nominations" from three countries.
And also note, it is ALWAYS ~3.5 days of cooldown. Not more , not less.
