There is comment that I can "check out the full details in your Contribution Management page". This is not correct as edits do not show on Wayfarer.

Some of the suburbs (to my knowledge) that are affected and have pending photo submissions are affected:

• Ashfield, since 30 October 2021
• Edmondson Park, since 20 December 2021
• Fairfield, since 4 June 2022
• Homebush, since 4 June 2022
• Kogarah, since 6 November 2021
• Leumeah, since 22 February 2021, reuploaded on 4 November 2021
• Lidcombe, since 18 April 2022

Photos that others have uploaded also do not ever go into voting, so they do not get seen by reviewers. Instead we're advised "Good exploring!" and seem to have ended the queue, when photos in any of these suburbs don't ever appear for our review. The majority of photos/media submissions either get approved within two weeks, or get lost in the system. Because I use all 40 photos every 20 days, it becomes obvious after a fortnight when 40 photo submissions are done in the system, but only 34 of them come back.

Could you please investigate?

These were portals/photos that I added via ingress. That is, my codename correctly does not appear on photos in Ingress or Pogo if I submitted via Pogo, but if I submitted via Ingress, my codename still appears in Ingress.

Device info: iphone se 2020, up to date ios and pokemon go & ingress apps.

So either the text is incorrect that my codename will not appear on submissions “in Niantic games” (and should be updated to reflect that name will appear on portals) or it is a mistake that codenames still appear in Ingress with that setting off.

These were approved over the previous weekend during an Ingress event, and despite being approved, have not synced. However, wayspots approved in the last few days of the week have synced with no issue, for the most part (I've had one two that have not, but maybe 10 that have).

The missing POI were submitted in both Ingress and Pokemon Go, so I do not believe it's an issue with a specific game so much as the network.

In short: Some wayspots accepted over the last week or two are not showing up in Ingress nor Pokemon Go, despite having the space to come online.

Issue Description

Anyway, in short, any wayspot edits of any kind I've submitted do not appear on my contribution management page, despite the confirmation email indicating that I can "check the status of my submission" there (see a full example quote below). This issue applies to any modification to an existing wayspot I make in game, such as Title/Description Edits, Photo Submissions, Location Edits, Category Suggestions, and the like.

The affected edit submissions don't appear after 30 minutes as the submission confirmation email indicates they should, nor do they ever appear. That said, the edit submissions do actually go into voting, and I've received a "submission accepted" email for most of the edit submissions I've made. Even after being accepted, however, the submission never appears in contribution management.

All that said, new waystop submissions appear on the contribution management page as normal – I haven't had any trouble with any of those disappearing as other people seem to have had recently. Only the **edits** to existing wayspots do not appear on my contribution management page, and this has been the case since I started as a wayfarer a few months ago.

Device Information

I have made all submissions through the Pokémon Go app on my iPhone 7.

I always access the Wayfarer portal site on my 2019 MacBook Pro 16" (Intel i9) with macOS Monterey 12.3.1, using Google Chrome Version 101.0.4951.54 (Official Build) (x86_64) as my browser.

I've included screenshots of the emails I received when I submitted one particular photo addition to a wayspot – both the confirmation that the upload was received on 4/23 and the notice that the photo was accepted on 5/7.

I've also included screenshots of my Contribution Management page showing that the photo submission above does not appear in the list, even with all filter options checked or when I search for the title of the wayspot the photo was submitted to. All items that show up on that page are new wayspot nominations. There are at least a couple dozen photo submissions, title/description edits, GPS location edits, and the like that do not appear in the list in addition to the one example from the above photos.

I have the honor of having a nomination featured in Showcase at the moment. I am quite happy with the nomination so I wouldn't mind getting credit for it by displaying my codename - but even though the setting is at ON, it just reads 'a fellow Wayfinder'. This has happened before with another quite recently featured nomination.

Does anyone else have this issue or knows what causes it?

And does anyone know how it can be fixed so that my codename will be displayed?

I made 2 new nominations today around 6:30pm ET. I did not get any confirmation, and they don't show up on my Wayfarer account. I recall this bug happening a long time ago, eventually it unlagged, but figured it might be worth bringing up since it seems to be happening intermittently today to more than a few folks.

A bug: In any text edits (description or title edits) it's impossible to select the text that we need to choose as the best title/description.

It's possible to select any text on page except edited text that we need to choose from. It's very unhelpful, when we get text edit from different language, as it's sometimes impossible to choose any of it without select it to translate. I always select and copy text to translator, and I can't do it now, so I have to select "None of the above" each time I get text edit I don't understand.

This is how it looks like now for me with text edits:

As you can see on screenshot, it's possible to select any text except edited text (in this case, two options for edited description).

In this example, I had description edit with location edit, and the first edited description text says "please choose a more northerly location. The other was submitted incorrectly". I know it only because I tried to rewrite it (it was short so I could, but it took me some time). I can't say what the second description says, it's quite long, and rewriting everything is not the best option for me.

Before wayfarer changes it was possible to select and copy any text from site, please make it possible to select text from edited descriptions/titles, it was very good option for everyone.

I review on PC, Win10, browser is Mozilla Firefox. But I remember that other people also mentioned they have this issue too, so it doesn't look like it's only browser related.

Moreover, this happened to me several months ago with another nomination, and yet still is “in voting” (upgraded) and stays unresolved. (Again no bad names or issues)

All nominations were made using Pokemon Go on iOS device.

The period has passed, but the wayfarer login is still suspended.

Looking through the forums, the junk that is in my review list and some rejections, it is abundantly clear of 1 of 2 things - though in reality both

1. Some people really are bad at reviewing / submitting
2. People submit and review filth just to get a new Pokestop or portal or reject stuff in case or messes with their field

I welcome the wayfarer test for number 1 but this is an education piece, number 2 is my concern. If you act with malice you will ace the test then abuse the system.

I see where the admins say that action has been taken against the people concerned but the fact is a wayfarer ban doesn’t stop submissions and given how easy it is nowadays to get to LVL 38 in PoGo (not sure about LVL 10 in Ingress) people just have alts and will do the same thing.

As annoying as it is for players (rejections of awesome POIs and wayfarer rating potentially going down based on you voting differently) it effectively devalues your Lightship database with junk, fakes and not having stuff which is actually a good candidate in it.

This went fast, but after completion I realized all my stats and achievements are gone. The candidate submissions history is still there, but all counters were set to 0. Therefore I took screenshots from PoGo and Ingress medals.

After 24h my PoGo platinum Wayfarer badge dropped to “nothing”, whereas Ingress still shows the OPR Recon badge and 2135 agreements.

Please correct, so no one is asked to redo the test. Even if this happens, please don’t reset all counters.

Furthermore can you please reinstate my achievements and my PoGo platinum badge.

This sentence is Norwegian and translates to "This ended 50 years ago."

Wayfarer prevents me from putting this sentence into a description on Wayfarer because one of the words above contains, as a substring, a certain bad word relating to some **** activity. However, the word (as a whole) is a perfectly acceptable word in Norwegian language. The error message returned when putting this in the description is "Failed to validate description."

Submitting in-game also provides non-descript error messages. Submitting such a description from Ingress will result in a generic "failed to submit nomination"-type error message, possibly indicating server issues, not a problem with the bad words filter. This is after usage of mobile data to upload the images for the nomination. I personally thought the nominations server was down until I tried to modify another wayspot in Wayfarer at home.

I will speak on behalf of my community because where I live they don't typically get rejected. On one hand, we believe that, even if they are not the most interesting POIs, they hold some value for being a great place to be social with others. That feeling can be confirmed by the presence of "plazas" on the eligibility criteria page:

Additionally, the only shopping plaza I had go through internal voters at Niantic was accepted, and it was a pretty generic one for that matter. I understand it isn't a particularly strong argument because mistakes can be made, but it still happened so I'll take it into consideration. Overall, we believe that str!p malls can and often are great places to socialize because they are public spaces designed for groups of people to hang out, and loitering is encouraged, the same way parks are.

On the other hand, I had some influent people from the community telling me that str!p malls aren't as interesting because they are generic spaces, a lot of cities, especially in the United States, are flooded with them:

Overall, they don't see the appeal in those places for not meeting any criteria and for being generic.

So anyway, I'm having kind of mixed feelings because we have official sources saying they should be eligible for meeting the social criteria while other good sources say they do not meet that criteria. I feel like a clarification is needed to set the records straight.

Note: I know it should never be black or white. I'm sure that if we can get an official statement and/or a guideline it would keep people from rejecting those as soon as they see the Dollarama, because they "don't hang out at Dollorama with friends" (even though it's really a nomination of the public space, not that specific store). Something like area size required, or numbers of stores needed for it to be interesting, or anything helpful, really. Thank you.

For reference, here's the str!p mall that sparked the debate:

It has 20 stores, most of them generic. Building is ~4225m² (~45 000 sq.ft.), land is twice as big. All in all a decent sized str!p mall. It's also worth mentionning it is located in the heart of that city, making it a central point.

TL;DR Do malls, more specifically str!p malls, meet Niantic's view of a great place to be social with others or does it not?

I am using an iPhone 13 Pro with iOS 15.1.1 and Ingress Prime 2.86.1

I have used an e-mail address in my own domain for login since I started playing back in year 5. This e-mail address (xxx@domain.se) is linked to google. I have decided that I would like to change this to using my xxx@gmail.com address instead. 

To do the change I used he following steps

1. Link my Apple Id 
2. Logout from prime
3. Login using ny Apple ID
4. Unlink my address xxx@domain.com
5. Link my g-mail address xxx@gmail.com
6. Logout from prime
7. Login using my connected g-mail address xxx@gmail.com

This works and I can also use my gmail address when logging in to the intel map and to wayfarer. So far so good. 

However, when I get e-mails from wayfarer, like decisions on my nominations new photographs etc, they are sent to my old xxx@domain.com address instead of the new xxx@gmail.com address.

@NianticTintino-ING @NianticDanbocat @NianticGiffard Can you please look into this... the appeals process is already so slow as it is, fresh appeals bypassing the queue and getting resolved before older appeals is very frustrating.

Asigne una solicitud para que sea la "mejora siguiente", cuando tuve una mejora disponible la solicitud no se actualizó, sino que continuó con la etiqueta de "siguiente mejora" y la mejora lograda se acomuló en "mejoras disponibles".

Hace meses que tengo este problema, pense que con el tiempo se arreglaria, o que incluso obteniendo otra mejora se asignaria la anterior, pero no sucedió.

Intente también eliminar la solicitud pero me indica error cuando lo intento.

Desde entonces deje de evaluar porque no tiene sentido acumular mejoras y no poder usarlas, tampoco se donde comunicarme para reportar el error.

So I have no idea if anything is being processed, since no mail is sent either.

I made an edit to it, then tried to make another edit and got an error. When I refreshed the page, I found that my nomination was now “In Voting” with a fancy little Niantic logo next to it.

I wasn’t ready for this nomination to be voted on and expected that I would continue to be able to edit it until I released the hold.

Why was my nomination pulled into voting before I released the hold?
