Speaking only locally; the LFL would on "public" land, not the banned "PRP". By all of Niantic's published rules, the wayspot is both eligible (as the LFL promotes education) and not disqualified under any "location" rules. Also speaking locally, there is an additional concern, but one that is not relevant to Wayfarer, not…

People "posing" in a supporting photo might cause your submission to be (correctly) rejected as "submitter identifiable". Best not to risk it.

True enough. Locally, I can count on one hand* the number of wayspots that are in Pogo but not Ingress due to the different spacing rules. There's one spot that's a tad weird, because of the order in which they wayspots were accepted, the building got accepted into Pogo but not Ingress, and a stonework frieze artwork on…

Can confirm. Success not guaranteed, but worked for me lol *I'm hardly a wayfarer newbie, with hundreds of nominations accepted, but getting fakery removed is weirdly very difficult
-
I can assure you that I'd pointed everything wrong on not just a plate, but a shining silver platter, and they still refused my removal request for that faked location. More than once. But I guess your gift-of-the-gab worked out better than mine, or else maybe you've got a different pool of Niantic staff handling your…

I've got a local obvious-fake wayspot, that made it into the games. I've reported it in-game as "invalid" multiple times, but support always kicks it back. I WILL NOT post in the invalid wayspot appeals section, if you've seen my history you will know why. (tl;dr a local player doxxed me, which is an implicit threat…

I could make a suggestion to Niantic, at least on the "FIFO" side of things: Take the oldest unresolved appeal for each wayfarer, and work through specifically those. Lather, rinse repeat. In that way, those who had only submitted a few appeals will have theirs treated fairly and in a relatively decent time, and those who…

On at least one occasion, I've had to be creative about taking effective photos, in order to get a sure-thing nomination (a local baseball stadium) through the reviewers. There was nowhere at ground-level I could stand where the POI wasn't at least partially obscured. I ended up climbing a rickety, rusty, metal staircase…

Minor update: The appeal I'd put in on May 7 was finally approved overnight. This was a golf "driving range" that was previously rejected some five times by reviewers. I cannot hazard a guess at whether appealing was any faster, given how much reviewers hated this particular one. Maybe once the backlog is finally through,…

If we had more opportunity to test, it could be simply the same thing that triggers photos to sync into Ingress: a new thumbs-up vote on a photo from Pogo.

"How can Niantic motivate people to submit Lightship-only POIs?" If all of the other POIs had some kind of in-game benefit, players would be more inclined to submit. Just spitballing, but even something as simple as a guaranteed "spawn" point in Pogo? maybe even even as a one-spawnpoint mini "nest"? I can't quickly think…

My appeals sent in on May 7 and July 25 have yet to go into voting. @Daemare-PGO's May 1 notice above gives me SOME hope that the golf driving range may fiiiiinally get looked at by Niantic "soon".

If, for example, this is where the intercity bus stops on its route for a particular town/city/village, then that makes this a transit "station" not a bus "stop". But as the other commenters say, we don't have enough information presented that showcase this location as such.

At the time of OPR, "limbo" had an additional problem that didn't just mean "not enough reviewers". It impacted several of my early nominations. Basically, if there has been a recent "FSVO 'recent'" portal deletion, that created a "dead zone". While nominations could be rejected and you would get responses for those in…

What Niantic asks us to do when the wayspot is no longer representative of the real-world POI, even when the replacement POI is also potentially worthy of being its own unique wayspot: Ask for the wayspot to be removed Once the wayspot is gone, submit the new POI as a wayspot The bad news with this recommended procedure…

It's true -- it USED to be such that all wayspots first had to become Ingress portals before being imported into Pogo. If you're looking at older google results or reddit threads or somesuch, you may still be led astray with bad advice. (This is only part of why Niantic needs to do do a better job of promoting these…

Since it's still (currently) waaaaay faster locally for a resubmission attempt, I'm personally not going to add any new appeals until at least one of the two I'm waiting on are resolved. One of which was submitted on May 7, the other Jul 25, and neither of which has made it into Niantic Voting yet. Mind you, what used to…

Yup, one of the favourites I’ve seen in my wanderings was named: Roof Cow

Most of my nominations end up all serious-like, but I've had my share of fun: Baseball Diamonds: No Plate Like Home The Umpire Strikes Bat All Your Base Are Belong To Us Bat To The Future I Think I Glove You Diamond In The Rough Take a Pitcher It'll Last Longer Tennis: No Love Lost Random Items: stonework art of a bull:…

I've been purposely NOT using my available appeals, as I've got a pair that I'm far more interested in getting through than anything else that's been rejected since. But they've been lingering for months in the appeals, while the Niantic staff slowly pushes through their self-created backlog (due to them NOT fixing the…

Additionally to this @NianticTintino Previous AMAs took seriously the idea of adding “supporting text” to edits. Some things just won’t pass wayfarer voting without a bit of an explanation, and there’s no way to tell reviewers why we are hoping to make a simple change.
-
I've heard tell of the Wayfarer app on the Wayspotters podcast, but it's yet to show in the Canadian iphone app store. Is it still in "beta"?
-
Please provide screenshots of your rejected nominations, including all of the description, photo, and supporting photo and text.

Correct, as per Niantic we are only supposed to have one wayspot per playground, not one per piece of equipment at the playground. But this directive isn't written into the wayfarer website itself, and I cannot speak to what sort(s) of translation issues there may be. It's possible the nominator is well-intentioned but…

I would say that these can indeed be potentially eligible, as they provide educational/historical information about the naming of the streets. However; if every single street sign has the same tag? they become very "duplicate" they don't provide much information about the named individual like park benches, you're going to…

For what it's worth, I was on a bit of a hike on Sunday. I had enough bandwidth to play but not enough to submit, so used the "Upload Later" functionality in Ingress. All four of the items are currently showing as "in queue", and I received the notification email very promptly as I uploaded each one individually. If it…

Meanwhile the Appealed nominations are evidently also not being reviewed FIFO, and also at an interminable sloth’s pace. Made worse for those of us who intentionally did not abuse the process when it was still possible to appeal daily. I’m still waiting on a golf driving range. Maybe not as se.xy as a sportsball field, but…
-
Mostly, Niantic approves of this. It's a harder time convincing reviewers that each individual little sign is worthy and not a duplicate. Personally, I tend to only nominate signs at "trailheads" or at branches, with a fairly generous definition of "branches". For example, there's a trail memorializing a historic journey…

In theory, the only proper way is to have Starbucks (the corporation, not the individual store) themselves notifiy Niantic to have an additional location added to their contract. I have yet to see any stories or confirmations that any such "new" locations have ever been added, perhaps somebody can add their anecdotes…
