Yes, I believe it wound be good to round up the maximum route distance to the length of a typical marathon. Some people like that sort of thing. Not for everyone of course, but I'd suggest 42.195 km is a better upper limit (or maybe an even 45 km to account for possible GPS drift and another anomalies) than 20 km. Some may…

Had my first Route published only a couple of hours before submitting it for review. Waiting on two more now. All three involve walks through historic areas with multiple landmarks, so I assume the remaining two will be accepted too.

When it comes to Wayfarer, ignorance would seem to breed more ignorance (in other words, there is a "bandwagon effect"). I can imagine a player coming across a Wayspot that perhaps never should have been accepted and assuming that because such a Wayspot is in the game already, when they come across something similar it's a…

Thanks! If you have any skeletons, I am sure the forum would like to see them. I posted my nomination for a bit of fun and if you think you can beat it in terms of age, then go for it!

Certainly feels like people are more in-tune with the general criteria at the moment, so they are rating my nominations better. I am having a much easier time of getting trail markers accepted these days, for example. A lot of the nominations I have had rejected over the years have been trail markers, which Niantic has…

If the portal does not block the emergency services (and is not at a school for children*) then it should be okay there. If a portal has safe pedestrian access, it should not matter if even only one person can access it safely, because a Wayspot not being accessible to the general public at large is not a reason for…

I have had some success in my local cemetery nominating the following this: War memorials. Statues (ones not connected to any grave). The graves of noteworthy people who happen to be buried there (i.e. local celebrities). As a general rule, I would only nominate the graves of people who died long ago (more than fifty years…

I often have wondered myself if people are more interested in getting agreements or actually meeting criteria. Niantic's lack of communication has also meant new rulings on criteria take a while to filter through. A number of things nominated by myself and others within my community which I feel should have been accepted…

Sadly, the game has an issue with the word "virgin" so I am unable to edit the title to the correct name of the Church.

Epic incompetence once again from Niantic. I would have hoped the comments would be more informative. Before I realised people making nominations did not see my comments (another thing Niantic did not tell me), I was giving more meaningful sentences than "does not meet the Wayfarer bar". Niantic managed to say something…

Niantic has a track record of messing things up. That's all. It's my experience for playing their games.
-
This new feature seems good! But I also agree with this comment.
-
Agreed.

Yeah, this is not as bad as I first feared it could be. Though, of course, Niantic is creating more work for itself when we alreeady so many problems outstanding that have not been addressed for many months, in some cases years potentially, you will have to forgive me for being so cynical. Obviously, I believe there are a…

Is Niantic going to hire somebody for physically check accuracy of items which cannot been seen on satellite or Google Street View? I'm thinking Wayspots under dense vegetation/tree cover, indoors (i.e. in a building) or underground? Or are they going to simply rely on their best assumptions without actually going there in…

Okay cool, but that still does not address the question of inaccurate Wayspots potentially appearing as potential duplicates when users are reviewing and unable to be edited from within any Niantic game. I would like to see this addressed.
-
No, that's not an answer. Now, imagine for a second, if an S17 cell is already occupied by a Wayspot and a new Wayspot appears within 20m of another Wayspot located in the neigbouring S17 cell. That Wayspot within 20m of the other will not appear in Pokémon GO because the S17 was previously already occupied. I believe you…

I can see the 20m rule would be a Wayfarer issue. Image if you were to spot an inappropriately photographed, incorrectly titled or incorrectly placed, or otherwise invalid Wayspot(s) when you were reviewing. It would leave you disgruntled, yes? Then consider the fact that the 20m rule means that Wayspot is in the system…

Remember that old Simpson's episode? Made me think of that scene. Yes, this sort of language filter Niantic is using has been complained about a lot.
-
Niantic believe when the police arrest a person, that idividual should not be told why are being arrested. Forget about due process and a fair trial. Niantic want none of that.
-
Outside of these forums, I do not discuss Wayfarer at all. Nobody is interested in Wayfarer. There is nothing for me to discuss. I might discuss the methodology behind making nominations but not the Wayfarer website.
-
If the nomination is impossible to miss on Google Maps and/or Street View - as you claim - why do you even need to say "the pin should be at X location"? People should know it's in the right location based on the view of the area, so that text becomes redundant. As such, I'd remove that sentence from the re-submission.…

If the restaurant is a "local hotspot", then nominate the restaurant. It certainly does look like a place I'd want to eat at. The flip-flop is "eh", to me. Try nominating the restaurant itself.

It just goes to show, people value their (UK) postboxes. The communities miss their antique postboxes and the criminals steal them because they are seen as valuable. I agree with Historic England's statement on the value of the Royal Mail postbox, and clearly the majority of reviewers agree with me, because I still have…

Okay, other things to look out for are the cast Iron (only) GPO marker posts or any potentially rare manhole covers. For example, a Thomas Crapper manhole cover would be "point of interest" worthy in my estimation. Some manhole covers also serve to highlight the location of London's underground rivers. The waymarking…

I would be inclined to - if I was to nominate this area - to nominate that map/sign I can see in the Google Street View. That might be accepted because it looks like it may contain important information for day-trippers/tourists. Otherwise, if that's a pre-ER2 pillar postbox, that could also be accepted. Beyond those two…

If reviewers did not make up their own rules when reviewing and actually followed the criteria as laid out by Niantic, there would be a lot less spamming in the system I'm sure. There are plenty of things which are nominated in a good faith, but because some reviewers hold the belief they know better than Niantic, they…

As @rodensteiner-ING is saying, you seem to fail to understand how Niantic populates the "gameboard" and that most players are ignorant of how the gameboard is populated (because Niantic is against educating its customers, for some reason). The average Pokémon GO player is not using the Ingress Intel Map to check what has…

That assumes people know about this forum. There are people I know who have nominated things and were not even aware there was a website where they could keep track of the nominations. The fact there are people who nominate who do not even know what Wayfarer even is... well it's shocking really. Niantic does not do a good…

For me at least, there is a world of difference between nominations which "do not meet criteria" (or that do meet criteria and local reviewers are not following the critera) and nominations which are designed to be dedeptive or otherwise abusive. Some people simply get unlucky with who reviews their nomination. Are we…
