That's a good idea. Many otherwise good nominations have been let down due to watermarking. Cropping is fine when the watermark is small and in a corner. If the watermark is large then no, naturally.

I made a special trip in October of 2020 to nominate a King Edward Ⅷ postbox and it's been stuck in voting since October of 2020. 👍️

Agreed. If you want "no description", you'll have to edit your nomination(s) via the Wayfarer website. Previously, I was able to edit out descriptions on the website itself, but they changed that with the summer Wayfarer update. Therefore, as I stated before, there are certain characters in the Unicode character table that…

There are certain characters within Unicode that allow one to have a pseudo "no description" nomination. I've had plenty of nominations accepted without descriptions, in particular exercise equipment and playgrounds. In those instances, the description would literally just be repeating the title and/or stating the obvious…

I personally like it and would be inclined to accept it, assuming it had a good description.

Do mailboxes in Spain ever contain the royal cypher of present and past monarchs? In the GB and many of its former colonies, a person can generally tell the age of a postbox by the royal cypher on it and depending the royal cypher, people tend to accept the postbox. Not saying it's right to accept postboxes, just that…

At first I was like "wow, this got rejected, how stupid are reviewers?" Then I realised. Probably a correct rejection, sadly.

If I am nominating a bridge, instead of taking a photograph of the road or the path on the bridge, I take a photograph of the side of the bridge. This shows the architecture of the bridge better. Interesting architecture, if of course, one reason to nominate a bridge. Other reasons to nominate a bridge are: It's part of a…

Agreed. Lychgates are a chiefly English and, apparently, a Nordic thing. I wouldn't expect people from other areas of the world to understand and appreciate lychgates. I've had a lychgate accepted too, so reviewers would seem to like them. I certainly find them interesting and the reviewing community clearly agrees with me.

Thanks for the correction!

For photographs taken within taken within a game, that's possible in certain circumstances as a feature but I don't what it limiting where I can put the pin too much. Say for example, I have a large nomination - such as a sports arena - and photographing it from where I want to put the pin does not get me a good photograph…

Who determines what a "low quality Wayspot" is? A lot of the time, we'd require people with local knowledge (not necessarily of the area, but the country as a whole). Niantic has shown time and again that their guidelines for Wayspots are very "USA centric", and fail to take into consideration other customs and cultures…

That's what I was doing before discovering Wayfarer+; thanks for reminding me. I wonder, did Niantic change the nominations page layout because they don't want us to know where we put out nomination? No way am I leaving my nominations down to chance!
-
Will Niantic acknowledge map cells and the formula for Wayspot appearance in game?

I was still out in the field when I made my nomination. I walked a fair bit from the nomination in order to get a better mobile phone signal. The area is rural, so not much incentive for a private company to lose money giving people a better mobile phone signal, as they'd likely loose money upgrading the infrastructure.

We need more information about your bus terminal and telephone booth nominations in order to determine whether they were correctly rejected. In the UK, the red telephone kiosks tend to be listed structure, recognised by Historic England. A major bus interchange is typically eligible, whereas a minor bus stop along a route…

Imagine fining or putting somebody in jail but never explaining why that person received that fine or jail sentence. People would not put up with that and is the sort of thing we'd expect from a totalitarian government. Yet people here are attempting to justify doing just that and I don't know why they are being so obtuse.…

Are you a canine? For a canine, excrement is the height of social media. Read all about it here: But seriously, have you ever seen any humans being sociable around a poop station?

I agree, should not be using third party photographs. Yet for the rest, I am rather cynical. I don't know the area either but allow me to put on my "contrarian hat" for just a minute. I do wonder, the only reason you suspect abuse is because you've been using a 3rd party tool Niantic which discourages people from using. If…

People disagree with my statement on trail markers but do not state why they do not believe their meet the criteria Niantic laid out. Could it be that they just don't want to accept them, irrespective of what Naintic have said on trail markers? All some contrarians are capable of of doing on the subject of trail markers is…

In my personal experience, I've had no problem getting such things accepted. Often, I find them on newer housing developments than inside true parks. Reviewers would seem to like them, though of course there will always be the odd grouch. Some people may lambast a nominator if two pieces of exercise equipment on one of…

All trail markers are acceptable, says Niantic (and they are listed as example of things that encourage exercise and exploration). Therefore, anybody rejecting them is wrong. It doesn't matter if they are "too close to together". A trail marker is a trail marker and Niantic never said "accept trail markers unless it one is…

Luckily, my local area still acknowledges the Run England markers and the route is listed on the park websites. I've had no issues getting the ones I've nominated accepted. All accepted first time, which surprised me because I have trouble with "more traditional trail markers" all of the time.

Apparently an update arrived this week, so I'm guessing it will happen in the next update. Whenever that will be. When can we expect the next round of improvements to Warfarer?

Niantic replied regarding maps on nomination page here: NianticTintino Posts: 103Niantic › admin September 7 Hello All, Please note that this is a known issue and I'm happy to report that it'll be a part of our next update coming soon. Thanks! Supposedly it was going to be "a part of our next update coming soon".

Yeah, I sometimes see Ingress portals on the Intel Map that are in totally the wrong place, fort things which no longer exist or with typos and it is sad that I cannot do anything to fix them as they don't appear in Pokémon GO. One of the portals in the wrong location would actually become a Pokéstop if it was moved to…

Are you @NianticGiffard, @NainticGiffard-PGO ? Does Niantic have rules against impersonating staff members? I guess not. I swear you changed you username recently. This one too: @GiffardNiant-PGO Getting back to the subject at hand, the lines on the art work don't line up with the gaps on the street furniture, so it's…

Sounds good. I know of a few Wayspots in my area with no photograph. Some of them are extremely rural, and thus it is hard to get a good mobile signal there. Therefore, it might not be possible to get new photographs added unless there is remote submission.

Over the years, the criteria change, so what may have be eligible at one point in time, no longer is. Unless a nomination is overtly abusive, obstructs emergency services or a land owner requests it to be removed, I'd say it should stay. Periodically removing older nominations sets a dangerous precedent I feel. For all we…
