  • That depends on the tide. Typically twice a day for 6 hours according too the current council charts. Though they are very conservative.
  • That's so open to interpretation, consider a large park where you would need to cross a road to get to it. You do not have safe access at all times, as you need to cross the road when there is a gap in traffic.
  • The nomination was for the refuge (mostly used as viewing platform, or to sit down and have lunch), the sticks just mark the safe path over the sands. Trail markers are at each end and also subject to tide, like the road alternative. If the refuge isn't acceptable that's fine, but my objection is the safe public access…
  • "you can't really access it on foot when the tide is in unless you're already" doesn't that apply to the whole island...It's the same as crossing a road, its not safe to do when a car is coming. But I get your point. Not aware of any pedestrians ever needing rescuing, but plenty of drivers get caught out. Not so much now…
  • Its tidal, like the roads and most of the surrounding area. I thought the criteria was safe pedestrian access, not 24/7 ?. Everything is signed by the council as they get fed up of rescuing drivers.
  • Just had another appeal rejected .. "Thanks for the appeal, Explorer! The object's location in question does not have pedestrian access which does not meet the Wayfarer criteria. We recommend you review the Wayspot Criteria before submitting your next Wayspot contribution:…
  • I have a couple. One was rejected as being taken from a car, though if anyone had looked at a satellite map I'd love to know how you got there. Got accepted on resubmit. Another: "Thanks for the appeal, Explorer! We could verify the object in question no longer exist. Hence, we are unable to reverse the decision. We…
  • Suggest you use OS maps when confirming footpath locations etc in the UK. These can be freely viewed a number of ways, but bing maps is probably easiest by selecting the OS tab (geo blocked to the UK I believe).
  • @NianticGiffard Is there a reason reverse geocoding can't be used on nominations to prevent us receiving nominations for other countries ?
  • If you are able to resubmit a nomination, it is probably better to not appeal in the first place, and just resubmit it. This will keep the appeal review work for Nia to a minimum, and you will probably get you nomination reviewed faster than the appeals process
  • On the South Coast we get a lot of French nominations :/ I appreciate you couldn't filter by language as that would be open to a lot of abuse, but I see no reason you couldn't choose by country and Niantic could use reverse geocoding to filter which nominations you receive.
  • Its quite common to have trail markers in utility poles in the UK (that one's in Scotland). They tend to use a ladder to reach the pegs, or cherry picker. Don't think I've ever seen one using spikes to climb.
  • I doubt there could be a countdown as it has always been maintained that the choice of which go into voting next is random to avoid abuse. I suspect the "time" the nomination is stamped with is the time you take it, not the time you upload it. So if you have several stored on your device for a couple of days there is a…
  • This is also my preferred mode of operation, but sometimes the signal in an area isn't good enough to upload so just have to wait until after the trip. Really needs a preference setting of always submit on hold. So you can control when things are ready to review
  • I have just experienced this very same issue, having returned from a walking weekend I uploaded roughly 40 nominations, 6 of which went into voting before I had time to put them on hold and fill in the details, wasting everyone's time 😪. @NianticCasey-ING @NianticTintino Is it possible to move those 6 back to the HOLD…
  • Maybe the number per month could be related to your acceptance / rejection ratio, or appeal success ratio.
  • I suspect filtering submissions by language could be abused, but I don't see why you can't filter them by national boundaries
  • Love the hold feature, my submission process has now change to queue the minimal submission in app (ingress / PoGo), when I have a good signal upload everything, then go into wayfarer and place everything on hold. This allows me to go through all my submission on the PC later with the ability to check my facts,…
  • All of the ones I've seen have been sensible (maybe I'm in the minority), with the only reason to reject being dark, blurry etc. What would be nice as part of this would be to vote on the image that is actually used, some reviews have come through with many images, but although all have met the criteria some of the images…
  • Would be nice we play both :). I think the speed must a location thing (plus a little luck) turn around here is normally very fast, though occasionally something just sits there for a long time. Literally just had one accepted I subbed on the 21st, another rejected I subbed a few minutes after (forgot to add the text when…
  • It does seem like PoGo players get the short end of the stick with regard to waypoint nomination.
  • I'm of a similar mind set, if the photos match the location, and OS maps back up the route then I generally give the benefit of the doubt. Those that are fake, or in the wrong place should get removed when another player reports them as not there, so they will be transitory at worst. What would be nice is if the location…
  • The trail marker shown is part of https://ldwa.org.uk/ldp/members/show_path.php?path_name=Itchen+Way and on the Ordinance Survey maps (UK official maps) The orange trail marker though a named trail is a local loop, very nice walk still if anyone is in the area. Please remember that streetview is only approximately correct…
  • Most of mine go through first or second time (mostly long distance paths), easy enough to resubmit as an ingress player. I pity the PoGo players since Android 11 as I gather they have to go back to the location to resubmit since the app needs to take a new pic, which seems a little unfair.
  • You know you can move around in streetview (well up and down the road) to view the pin from a different angle, it sometimes helps :)
  • Support guys were kind enough to sort it :)
  • TY. I'll take a look. Have already Emailed support so will wait for there response first before adding to the noise. Would have thought if the image geo location data indicated the POI was more than a few metres away it wouldn't auto add the image if marked as a duplicate. Most people won't be able to find which POI their…
  • I often add photospheres as people seem to like them. As you say they only really add value if there are discernible features on the maps to validate them against, though I believe most people just look to see the pin is next to the nomination, and don't consider the validity of the sphere itself. If there are such…
  • How does a photosphere help validate the location ? Anyone wanting to create a false location can just edit the photosphere location. The supporting photo had the railway embankment in it, the private road, and on the left if examined carefully the river so all though not conclusive it gave a good indication the location…
  • I suspect the biggest issue with reporting invalid rejection reasons is who checks. Niantic certainly won't have the staff so it would fall back to us reviewers, and there would be the next problem. I'd be happy with an edit and resubmit option, especially if there was an option to see the average category voting scores to…
