Older Contributions Review. You will now start to get some of the older contributions that have still to be decided on in your review page. These will continue to be based on your most recently played location. I've seen three "redacted" era nominations tonight, so its great to see that older nominations are being…

I dare them 😂

For those curious, I just reviewed the nomination the nomination that spawned this thread: PS: @JillJilyJabadoo-PGO, if you are local to FL and are on Discord, we have a Discord group for Florida submitters and reviewers that you may be interested in joining. Let me know and we can work that out.

Bumping this post every day (that I remember) until this is addressed***

I feel like abuse using 3rd party photos has become much more common in recent months, and I can't help but feel like a lot of this abuse could be automatically detected by the system.
-
There were plenty of issues that I felt very strongly about that were asked as AMA questions, but despite that I did not end up voting for them because there were other issues I was more interested to see addressed. Dont take a lack of votes as it not being a popular concern. It still made it to the top.

Here are the top questions as of 11:59 PM PST. @NianticTintino There is an awkward tie for #15 between "How can Niantic motivate people to submit Lightship-only POIs" and "Picnic/BBQ Areas that are NOT under a pavilion/gazebo, are they eligible.
-
My comment that had screenshots of the top 15 got filtered because of images so here is a quick little video showing the top 15 as of the voting cutoff time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_WLslu-nNU

Don't quote me on this, but if the starting portal for a misson gets removed, doesn't the whole mission go away?
-
Very interesting! I am guessing that the 15k being picked are not random. It is probably based on whatever portals that Niantic has sufficient AR scan data for, and they probably want to ensure that the locations are correct for when they test whatever feature they will be using that scan data for. I believe this…

I should note that I don't think this is because the Ambassadors aren't trying (at least the ones who actually interact with the community, anyways), but rather that Niantic does not appear to be communicating with their Ambassadors to empower them with such information that they can share with the greater community. .
-
Maybe @NianticGiffard or @NianticAaron can do this
-
@NianticTintino Is there a specific time today that voting will be cut off or that the questions will be made permanent? The questions at the bottom of the top 15 are pretty neck and neck, and I could see some potential frustration if voting isn't turned off and the order changes between today and when the answers get…

I hope Niantic will get in the habit of making excellent clarifications like this one, however they also need to make a criteria page on the wayfarer website where these clarifications can be housed permanently, otherwise they are never seen by most people and eventually get lost forever.
-
I would like to point put that Ambassadors are apparently so uninformed as far as communication goes that they had to ask AMA questions here like the rest of us, nor have I yet to see any instance where ambassadors were able to act as a liaison between Niantic and the community. It doesn't seem like the program is being…

By this logic, it would also make sports fields, playgrounds, and parks bad places because they're in the sun too. The entire point of Niantic games is to get out there and explore. Being in the sun is inevitable. I'm not sure where you are from, but personally, I'm from Florida, aka, the Sunshine State, and picnic areas…

Looks like two questions from Ambassadors will be making the top 15. What a waste of a resource that Ambassadors are forced to get information this way, and that regularl users will miss out on their questions being answered because of it.
-
Even if they are doing good, which is debatable, it doesn't mean there isn't clearly room for improvement. If people don't point out the issues that Niantic's in-house reviewers make they will never improve. And as far as I have seen, Niantic has as of yet made zero effort to acknowledge or correct the obvious mistakes…
-
People aren't disagreeing with you because they don't believe that Niantic Employees are prone to human error. People are disagreeing with you because that is a garbage excuse. In your job, when you make a mistake, do you leave that mistake unfixed and move on to the next thing? Would you still have a job if you made the…

I hope tintino will consider merge this question into this thread (or that others will give it some votes), because its at the heart of this issue and I think it deserves to be answered: Is multi-account abuse treated as a first time offense? In cases where the same abuses resurface under a different account, is that…

Following up on this, I got @NianticBrian-ING to respond to this thread on twitter. CrepitusOz’s reply sums up what I was trying to say on Niantic Social. Submitting and reviewing Portals that are where they’re located seems separate to our 20m rule, and like you mention in your post, other games (Catan, or future games)…

Just as another example of this happening, several portals were just discovered at Disney World that were moved about a mile away during review from Disney Springs onto a nearby Disney Resort hotel: Buzz Lightyear at Once Upon A Toy: https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=28.385863,-81.537045&z=17&pll=28.385863,-81.537045…

Something else worth noting is that there are quite a few questions asked by Ambassadors during this round of AMAs. While I don't think that Ambassadors shouldn't be allowed to ask questions, I think there should clearly be some other way for Ambassadors to get answers from Niantic. Otherwise what is the point at all? Can…

The furthest I think I have ever moved a pin is probably the length of a sports field, more specifically when people put the pin for a baseball field in the outfield, or away from a soccer/football field sign if one is available. This is generally the longest type of move I see as reasonable, and I could see these type of…

I do really like this idea, but it really depends on the game whether or not this would work. Pokemon Go has so many things they could add to showcase lightship-only POIs in a purely aesthetic fashion, but Ingress really doesn't. I would also be a little worried that, in the case of a game like Pokemon Go, the purely…

This question get asks every AMA (I would know, I generally am the one to ask it, lol) and while it usually gets the support to get answered by Niantic, we continue to never see any improvements. I would like to ask Niantic, why this issue continues to persist, and would request some kind of outline as to the measures that…

This seems like a really unnecessary clarification, mostly because Wayfarer is not black and white like many of your hyper specific requests suggest. Every situation is going to be a little different, and while you certainly got into the nitty gritty with a lot of your requests, the proximity to a school or the presence of…

Frankly, that is still not clear, and thats part of the problem. Why was there a rush to close the applications when it has been over a month and they still lack purpose.
