I'd honestly accept it. It's in plain view of everyone so if it was truly offensive, the government would have it removed or someone would have it painted over. There's a lot worse things in the world, let's not bring political correctness into a game that doesn't need it :)

I'm pretty sure i suggested the exact same thing on a previous thread and got completely shut down. I can understand why updating a POI could lead to issues, but any sort of edits also have to go into voting, so saying that an edit "bypasses" the nomination process is just a fallacy.

Given how many of them there are already, i'd say the second option. If these were truly invalid, Niantic would remove them. "Oh but it doesnt meet removal criteria" - It DOESNT MATTER. Nia is the owner of the IP, they can remove any and all POIs for whatever reason, including without a reason.

Nah, that's not the case. It's just that people found the magic formula : Reject everything for fast upgrades and agreements. Niantic doesn't care about it, so it's a situation where you have everything to win and nothing to lose.
