Like I said, getting the rock approved as a POI for part of a trail is a very long shot. But I don't think it should be. Trails are special cases in and of themselves. Generic, not interesting things, such as a wooden pole or sign on a tree with a green triangle that wouldn't be approved in and of themselves get approved…
-
No but a rock that size if you stress its not really movable, can be a physical anchor for a signless park but if one was going to try and make the rock the physical anchor, it would need to be clearly stated in the supporting and perhaps the description that it was going to be a physical anchor for the park and that the…

Contextly though he did need thoughtful feedback. His first post said he saw a couple car washes that were spots in game + he's green which means new. So for a new submitter he did need feedback that just because existing car washes were in game, doesn't mean a new one would make a good spot.
-
My personal opinion only 2 cases should reviewers move the pin... 1) If the pin doesn't touch the object nominated, then reviewers should move it for accuracy. This then becomes a question of whether you think its submitter abuse (inaccurate location chosen for game board purposes) or phone gps error or human error…
-
The big thing to learn is that you can NOT go by what has made it into the game as an ironclad guide for what is eligible. First, the criteria for accepting waypoints have changed over the time, and things that once upon a time were acceptable no longer make good spots in 2024. Second, human error exists. So sometimes bad…

Darn Lagged Doubt Post

my guess is because of the naming issues, the rejecter thought you were submitting a fake mural at Muscle Beach from a different Venice Beach. The title not matching the venice beach paint in your supplemental probably did you in. Again, the mistake shouldn't have happened with the amount of supplemental info you had, but…

What are physically anchoring the park to? I'd assume the rocks? 1st: Make sure you say in your supporting. The park is listed as a park on Google Maps. Unfortantly the park doesn't have a sign to be the anchor. However, signless parks are still eligible according to Niantic Clarification in the AMA found here…

PS: This is separate from the debate when it's a Chain like Powerhouse as that gets into the debate on grammar and what the rejection reason "A generic business, chain, or franchise that is not uniquely important to the local community" refers to.
-
Actually I was thinking about it from Niantic shoes too. The info from the submission is still there. We can see it in our Contribution Page. Moving that info back into voting shouldn't be hard code wise in fact, it shouldn't be any different code wise then moving it back to "Appealed". And sending it back to community…
-
This doesn't make logical sense to me. Logic would dictate that having an appeals button is also an admission that "the system" doesn't work. More importantly, there is subjectivity in the system. So acknowledging a way for a Submitter to edit and resubmit something isn't acknowledging a mistake in the system. It also…
-
The point being if it was returned to the queue you could edit stuff like typos. Yes you could go back there and resubmit from scratch but that's not always possible

They have never explained why not. But the general community guess is that pools with full time paid lifeguards such as City Pools or College/Olympic Training pools are eligible while those at a neighborhood like a condo complex or hotel pool don't have those and would risk kids falling in while playing. Now because they…

In the end, all the criteria become a judgement call. And my best answer is to sell your submission in the Supporting in which criteria and why Exercise, is the least judgemental criteria, as you either exercise there, or you dont. But even that you get some wayfarers arguing for and against chain exercise places like…

@SeaprincessHNB-PGO your quote reminded me of a tangental question. The rejection criteria says "Location is a private residential property (even if historical), farmland, a K12 and under school (preschool, primary/elementary, secondary/high school), child care/daycare center, rehabilitation center, safety shelter" What…

Didn't your mother ever say to you "Two wrongs, don't make a right?"
-
So simply only allow withdrawals from voting if it is already in game. Simple pop up and treat is as an agreement everyone who approved. Clears out waste of time.
-
Random Sample size is random. It's really no different than people who submit the same POI 2, 3, 4 times until its accepted. Just getting an oversampling of in anti-trail marker types on reject.

Interesting, I had wondered since I run in the 50-60 range figured that was low. Of course everything is relative... 50-60% free throw **** in basketball would be horrible, in hitting a baseball you'd be a god among men
-
I want to know when they switched the words in the Criteria "A great place to be social with others" It used to specifically list Nightclubs in there, and that was after the 3 criteria. It was relatively recent edit

No offense but your response drives me CRAZY!!!! Pre-Schools, K-12 are ineligible, other kid gathering spots are eligible. If targeting at kids was really supposed to disqualify something why the heck is every playgound an auto-accept? Those aren't targetted at kids???? I'd vote for this in a heartbeat.
-
I think it could be eligible but I can see why some people dismiss as a flower pot... That looks way too heavy to move, and looks to possible be part of the structure under it. The stone looks pretty close to the same. Hard to be 100 sure from that picture. But if the "Pot" and "Stone / Slab" under it are 1 structure, I'd…

Memorial Benches are one of the trickiest submission. They often trick new submitters because a large number are in the game, but the criteria has changed. So while new ones are possible, they are harder to get passed. However, if there was no rejection reason as mentioned earlier there is a good chance the AI noticed the…

@SeaprincessHNB-PGO Beautiful post. I'm 90% right behind you, but that other 10% of me says why do people have to work so hard to prove X and not Y. Anyone who plays Ingress/PMG/ETC can probable think of a favorite spot they visit daily, that is a picnic table, gazebo, something of the like that makes a "Great Place to…

Wow a zombie thread with a April 2023 to Feb 2024 Time Skip. I'm sorry I missed this thread. A lot changed for Gyms/etc with this thread in 2021 https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/25864/exercise-related-businesses-need-a-niantic-criteria-clarification/p1 which is also relevent to the debate of "Chain…

Adding in, I'll also say that those stickers are simply too small and not noticible enough. Any graffiti that I have seen make it into the game is far larger and more noticable. Something you might see for real for distance and go over to look at (Explore) without seeing it just as a POI in an app. I've nominated one…

Unless this effects Ingress, I don't see what this would do. I don't know of any S-Cells in Pokemon with 2 POIs in it. I do know of some legit clusters because of the luck of being where 4 cells corner. I did have a POI accepted and had to have it accepted again, because it was pre-lightship and too close to another…

Step 1 for me would be to consider the culture of the Cemetary. If the culture of the area welcomes guests/walkers/tours OR there are no more burials going on, I'd consider it I'm pretty lenient on this one. Especially since I don't get why Churches are autoaccepts and some people think graveyards are culturally…

I've had similar happen to me before. I nominated a basketball court as a POI. Placed the pin 1 step off the playing surface behind the basket. Seen it approved, went to check it out, only to find that reviewers had moved it to 1 step off the center court line rather than behind the court. It didn't show in the game, I…

Single flag poles really do have very little reason to be accepted. But Explore is such a wide criteria. Does it mean explore in the sense of go on vacation there, point it out to an out-of-towner, or does it mean something you stop and admire the look of when you take a walk with your 10 year old child? There is a…
