I mean, most new users don't use the search bar to find the answer to their question, which is typically why their approved Wayspot isn't in the game they play… But yes, there are many who just use the appeals sub forums and no others. Interesting that this hasn't really been talked about yet:
-
Hello, Are you making sure that you are using Facebook or Google to login to the apps before submitting? Wayfarer only uses those logins, so if you use the in-app login or Apple ID, you won't get emails for your submissions. Keep in mind that all of your new nominations can still be view in Contribution Management, with…
-
Hello, Please note that since Wayfarer only uses Facebook and Google for login, you will need to have one of these linked to your PoGo account, and sign in with Facebook and/or Google. Wayfarer can't be accessed if you are logging into the games with the in-game login option or Apple ID. You'll then be able to access…

Yes, but once moved over, there won't be any bumping eventually. Any open appeals will have to be reposted in the new forums once things close down here. The ambassadors had said they brought the issue of the appeals sub forums not being migrated over up, and there are new threads from them in each appeals sub forum now,…

Sad to see the Appeals forums won't be moved over. My location edit appeal I'm still trying to get through, but it's just so hard to get the information across sometimes!

I'm sorry, but that's incorrect. It's right on a preschool for children 3-5 years old. The business that was the Sports Bubble has actually been closed for several years (used to be an indoor golf driving range), at least since 2018; the soccer club reopened the bubble as their indoor training center in 2019. The south…

You're welcome! Yeah, not in the Wayfarer help, so can see why it was confusing.

Your Niantic ID username doesn't have to be the same as your game username. If you want to create a different Niantic ID username, you can do so, just as long as you are using one of the linked accounts to the games when creating your Niantic ID account. I'd check out the information about creating a Niantic ID account and…

Are you using either Facebook or Google to login to PoGo? Wayfarer requires your game accounts to be linked to either Facebook and/or Google, as those are the only login options for Wayfarer. If you are using Apple ID or the trainer's club, you won't be able to complete the tutorial. Once you've linked Facebook and/or…

If the photos are fishy, it's always a good idea to do an image search. It's a good tip that can be used for almost any nomination.
-
@NianticLC @NianticRN Can you take a look into this?
-
There was one LFL that got approved in my area, and its main image was similar to this, except there were houses that could be seen across the street. Not all reviewers know to reject LFLs on private property, and some submitters try their best to get around the system. Also, there are many LFLs that look similar. For one,…

Hello, It seems we don't quite understand what you are asking about. Would you be able to provide some additional information? Thanks! Hola, Parece que no entendemos muy bien lo que estás preguntando. ¿Podría proporcionar alguna información adicional? ¡Gracias!

I just submitted a location appeal, so I hope it's resolved before April 3rd. You'd think that there would be more than just the News section that would need to be moved over, like Appeals and Bugs. Kind of important sub forums.
-
Not surprised, as there tends to be some Niantic staff or the admins lurking when cases like this come up, especially bad rejections from the appeals team.
-
Could've been post Emily; all kind of things still get past her. Most likely, if someone did nominate it, it was for it being a social spot, and may have even described it as such. People still manipulate nominations all the time to make them look like good places, and some reviewers could care less to actually look into…

Had to double check that I have a Niantic ID, and I do, so no issue for me there. And yes, agree that better translation would be a benefit, instead of us having to use a third party translator or a browser extension. Some non-English Wayfarers ask others to post here on their behalf, as they think the forums are English…
-
No, I don't think Niantic is saying anything against the religion; it seems more like they may not understand it. It's the first time I've heard of it. The article also, when translated to English, makes it seem as though it was temporary back in 2016, instead of being around since then. Actually, the main photo is not the…

I do know of churches that used to have Wayspots, but they requested their removal due to the large number of people just parking in their lot and playing the games. One large Catholic church had 3 or 4 in the past, 1 for the church, 1 for a picnic pavilion, 1 for a statue that I can remember. The Wayspots have been gone…
-
It's never been a requirement to include any type of location identification in titles and/or descriptions, since the location has to be included so the Wayspot is accurately marked on the map. Yes, descriptions are becoming more generic, but keep in mind that not everyone is as creative as others when it comes to writing…
-
Statues are considered art, and that may be why it was nominated, and later approved, by the community. Again, we can't give any exact explanations, just assume based on criteria that has been set forth. Art pieces meet the criteria for exploration, but they do need to be unique art pieces. Unfortunately, there are generic…

Niantic wants us to be accurate, and being most of these churches do not have "in [city[" or "of [town]" as their official names, it may be better to include in the description. If there are multiple in one city, then list the neighborhood that it's in in the description.
-
The city name is not required to be included in the title or description, unless the city's name is listed in the name of the church. There is a Baptist church where I live that has the name of our city in it, so its Wayspot is listed correctly. However, most have names like "St. Mary's Catholic Church" or "Hope Lutheran…

It's very possible that those that manage these sites may not want the public intruding, for fear of someone that doesn't know how this equipment works possibly causing damage to it. You also note that they are far away from any other objects and are hard to access; they don't want pedestrians to access the sites easily,…
-
Yeah, but I can see someone that doesn't know what these types of clubs are thinking they are seasonal. They also could have been lazy and just saw a boring sign, too, since it was most likely reviewers chose thumbs down on Permanent and Distinct. Maybe even the No Trespassing on the sign. I'd say there's probably a lack…

While I live in an area with MANY churches, that's only 1 Latter-day Saints church here; most are Catholic or Lutheran. It does have a Wayspot, but I don't go by it often, so can't say what the title is currently. I doubt it's a coordinated effort by the church, but it is one that is growing in numbers in certain parts of…
