That's a shame. 230 people sounds like a lot for two niantic projects.
-
Right now it seems that appeals are either processed extremely quickly or they are never addressed. Like it's LIFO but if they don't have someone reviewing them the day you submit it then RIP.
-
I don't think successful appeals should lead to the appeal being returned while there's still a backlog. It would lead to some people getting almost none while others get as many as they want as they continuously get refunded and reused. The people who got lucky with the last in first out reviews are already much better…

Comments like this where you admit you're glad there's no "linguistic minorities" in your area make me even more likely to believe that is a reflection of larger Polish ethnic tensions.
-
If that's happening then it would be bad, but there's no real reason to think it's the case. Most cases of "local cabals" that are uncovered on this forum turn out to not exist, and when they do exist they exert influence over much larger areas because of the large range of reviews they receive. Look to Germany for an…

I don't think it's really important exactly how many people speak the language tbh. If you're losing edit wars over which language should be represented that's a good indicator that reviewers of your chosen language don't make up the majority.

There's a lot of comments that are already shaming the people who voted for their own country for the (presumed, I guess, since it hasn't happened yet) underperformance of this challenge and I think we probably wouldn't see this dynamic if there wasn't a vote.

it's a gameboard decision when they don't want to deal with it here
-
I suspect this is true and has been true. There's probably much less coal than a few years ago, the problem is there's even fewer reviewers.
-
Niantic increasing the amount of games which update their maps more than once before being shuttered would be a good problem to have.
-
It's baffling that Niantic has decided it's worth turning off so many new users for the short term gain of a couple of POI (that they probably would have submitted anyway, just with different expectations)
-
Isn't Germany famously one of the places where wayfarer is least functional?
-
A new user gets confused about something that isn't adequately explained by the submission process and the first response they get, from an ambassador, is "Kthxbye". That's one person who's never going to review.
-
Did not know other niantic games weren't updating their POIs, that's disheartening.
-
Waypoints being accessible to individuals but not crowds isn't an official rejection criterion but it will occasionally be brought up here as a reason to ding something so at least some people are treating it as one. It would be interesting to compile all of the examples of unofficial wayfarer rules that some users swear…

I'm skeptical that if someone did this Niantic would notice it in a reasonable time frame and then act on it in a reasonable time frame. Especially if they were in a region that doesn't get much attention on this forum.
-
This makes sense
-
Anything like that would be immediately weaponized. We already see some of that with forum appeals and reporting, making it quick and anonymous would make it worse.
-
In hindsight it was foolish of me to assume that Niantic wouldn't leave me stranded in Indonesia at the end of this event
-
It won't be long now until they start using niantic's waypoints and they create a feedback loop
-
I went with Makassar because the island of Sulawesi has cool snails. Gotta choose somehow.

It's a new variant of an old exploit, see here https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/26237/forum-bug-a-hidden-mechanism-causing-anyone-can-view-whoever-disagrees-forums-post and…

It looks like the post where I explained that it seemed to be a misclick because it's a pretty inoffensive post is gone into the edit ether, the first one's a joke, I don't know who you are. But yeah, doing what you're doing is not allowed. If you do want to continue doing it, I recommend you examine the disagrees on your…

Also, there's no "continued targetted thing". I checked your profile and I haven't even opened any of your other posts and it looks like all of your other replies are from several months ago, I don't think I've seen them either. You do have some strange recent disagrees from a couple years ago but I checked and it wasn't…

This is one of those suggestions that has seemingly no downsides for everyone involved, which is how I know it has about a 1 in 3 chance of being implemented.

Do they ever actually follow up on those? As frustrated as I am by bad reviewers I hope not because they hand those out like candy.
