I've gotten some small plazas and parks without good signage through, it's definitely possible but it's harder.
-
Urban areas which got filled in earlier have many more grandfathered stops sharing cells, I think that's where this idea comes from.
-
Very cool that there's a chance some waypoints will get wiped off of everyone's map because they inconvenience some ingress players' gameplay. Could you imagine the reaction this forum would have if this was talking about manipulating lightship to make more pokemon gyms?
-
I think confused submitters who aren't aware of just how bad the reviewing system is (ie not on this forum/in a group) do this when they get weird rejection reasons. They don't know that it's happened to them randomly and think they need to compensate somehow
-
Niantic makes 0 effort to reach out to the pokemon go community and educate them about wayfarer, most submitters are probably just nominating with no context. When you realize that it's people who only have the information given to them by the nomination screen then things start to make much more sense. And to be clear,…

My understanding was that it was exactly that which led to lots of small edits intended to wipe out the opposing team's advantage.
-
It's really hard to avoid the conclusion that the wayfarer team is the red headed stepchild amongst all of the other projects niantic has going. It seems like the game teams won't even give them the time of day.
-
Honestly the way you talk about pokemon go players isn't very helpful for your cause. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not but it sure reads like you'd rather we weren't here at all.
-
I hope they don't start pushing scans more because I live in a city and I don't relish taking pictures of people in public. It can already be hard enough to get a single pic with nobody in it at some locations. I'd likely stop submitting entirely in some areas if it became expected.

I don't think we need to make it harder to quickly reject coal but at the same time I don't think the great-poor rating system is particularly effective at ensuring quality voting. In areas where enough accounts are coordinating it's probably detrimental.
-
you know at this point I hope they keep it because it's kind of funny
-
Sounds cool! I hope you guys are able to take your time on it so that you get it right out of the gate.
-
interesting, I'm surprised a public branding is part of that.
-
I don't think they're saying they agree with it, it's just how niantic operates
-
This is rather minor but it would be nice if after you click on an image you're reviewing to enlarge it you could then click the area around it to minimize it. That's how it used to work but now doing that just opens the image in another tab which is inconvenient. Unfortunately what I actually expect out of 5.0 is for them…

more and more I think it might be "developer" and not "developers"
-
Relying on niantic comments which are often taken out of context, old, or just anomalies (dog waste station lol) causes so many issues on this forum and leads to eternal threads where people endlessly argue over the validity of settled questions in the hope that niantic swoops in and gives a poorly worded ruling they can…

I think the community wouldn't mind them shaking things up as long as the amount and approximate location of gyms remained the same, which in theory it would.
-
Sure why not. It would be nice to have new gyms to rank up in locally. I assume that it would only switch up stops blocking other stops from appearing so it shouldn't hurt.
-
You know when I saw this post I really thought that they got something right for once and that it would be nice to have a win for everyone. This seems like a problem that could have been easily avoided by having any idea how the user base actually used these features and it's concerning that Niantic is so out of step that…
-
Don't worry, niantic is ensuring that far fewer people are reviewing now.
-
the wayfarer team already knows about it, I don't think they plan on fixing it
-
I think the "our" and "we" usage is just a quirk in how they write and not actually suggesting they are part of niantic.
-
There's no way to know it without seeing internal figures but I'm beginning to wonder if a vicious cycle of people quitting entirely, no longer reviewing to avoid upgrades, and no longer submitting since it takes too long and is too inconsistent has begun.
-
Around a third of what I submit are stops that will never show up in pokemon go but those stops will never be my priority so when they get randomly rejected I'm much less likely to go back there and deal with the hassle of resubmitting them. It's just not a great use of my time when I could be submitting a new stop that…

This is already an issue in those locations, it pops up in the forums pretty often.
-
You've had 10 appeals processed? That's incredible. Are you in an area where normal reviews go through quickly? People in my local group are trying to figure out what's causing our area to not have its appeals processed.
-
Woah woah woah, non-ingress game board discussion? That's gonna be a locked thread.
-
I think your last sentence hits the nail on the head. The first change the wayfarer team needs to make is getting niantic to expand their payroll, then they can start to make meaningful updates. The team now is hardly able to keep things from falling apart much less make improvements, they need more resources to work with.
