If you explain why they should be accepted, many reviewers will find this not just annoying but also suspicious. To get 100% acceptance on rural trail markers is quite hard work but perfectly possible. It does mean attention to many details. (The only trail marker rejection I've had in the last 6 months is a duplicate…

Acceptable submission criteria does not equal acceptable nomination. There are many issues that submitters may be unaware of that can cause a nomination to be rejected. It's a lot more than finding something that meets acceptance criteria. For example, when nominating trail markers, unless I pay attention to 8 specific…

Meanwhile, all the actual fakes in Neath are left in the game.
-
I always move the pin (assuming I can actually find the object).
-
Well I was deliberately taking the stance of the harshest possible reviewers. So what I typed would be their response. They won't even have read the supporting information. I personally don't think they're eligible, though. I see them everywhere. There are quite a few that I just know of in this area. So grade 2 listing…
-
Which of the criteria do you think they meet? Clearly reviewers consider phone boxes as generic mass-produced piece of street furniture... which is what they are.
-
I add walking trails to Google maps sometimes to be on the safe side when nominating trail markers.
-
@Elijustrying-ING OK we literally are talking years here so I don't really remember too many details. But I have posted Neath fakes before in other places. Maybe we should have a contest to see where we can find the most fakes: Amesbury vs Neath? I have seen large numbers of brass rubbing posts, incorrectly titled 'Trail…

Yes run into this problem a few times. I don't know why they have this feature at all. There are, like, reviewers who will reject any inappropriate words.
-
Neath is "fake city" and has been for years. Even those wayspots that aren't fake are ineligible. I would dearly hope Niantic does some re-education on the reviewers who have been blithely accepting these wayspots over the years. Note for reviewers: if the address is Neath, select "fake / abuse" and you'll be right most of…

Honestly I still don't see it being accepted, but that photo with all the people in it would be a good supporting photo for evidence if you wanted to nominate the benches as a specific sunset viewing point. Also, links to those articles you mentioned earlier.
-
I don't know anyone who accepts stinkpipes or ordinary postboxes. Now, a hexagonal Victorian with floral top, maybe.
-
Yes this would never be accepted in the UK either. However, you mentioned there's a bar inside. I don't know how things work in your country, but in the UK any pub and many bars make great places to be social. So maybe nominate the bar instead?
-
As above. But even if you do find some special reason why people would actually go exploring for the specific purpose of going to this restaurant, this has to be abundantly clear from your title and description. Anyone reading that description will have rejected it without even glancing at the supporting information.
-
If I understand you correctly, you nominated this new statue and so did somebody else. Your nomination got denied, and theirs was accepted. This is very common. If a new statue goes up, you can pretty well guarantee that more than one person will nominated it. It happens to me, it happens to many people. And you haven't…

It's up to you to decide whether the submitter has made an adequate case, with credible evidence, that the POI candidate meets one of the criteria. The problem we have is that someone sees something in the game as a POI and then thinks they can nominate each and every other instance of such an object. That's not how it…
-
This is an obvious fake but there are many better fakes than this in the UK. Worst still, there are genuine trail markers that people have stolen and placed on poles near their homes. You really have to have forensic skills when reviewing in the UK. Nothing can be trusted any more.
-
Which of the three criteria do you think it meets?
-
Well obviously they shouldn't since they don't meet any of the criteria.
-
No i think the issue here is that, obviously, the reviewer doesn't actually know how much effort you put into the nomination, they can only go by what they see in front of them, and make assumptions based on that. Your title and description are great (which I have to say is never the case on the trail markers I get to…
-
Decide which of the criteria you think it meets and make sure that you sell this wayspot in both the title and description in a way that makes it obvious that it's a great place to be social, to exercise, or to explore. The I in POI stands for 'interest' so reviewers expect POIs to be interesting. From the title onwards.…
-
Niantic has indeed said this but that's not really the point. It's up to the nominator to justify how and why they meet at least one of the criteria, and up to reviewers to deem whether they're acceptable according to local community values. Submitters can't just go around randomly nominating things because they feel like…
-
You shouldn't be dissuaded from nominating businesses. For example, if this place was the region's only plant nursery breeding rare orchids, and people came from far and wide to admire them and buy them, then it could be a potential wayspot candidate under the 'explore' category.
-
Reviewers might appreciate a bit more information in title, description and supporting information. The title could be "Oil Street Outdoor Theatre" because seeing your title and the photo might be confusing some reviewers who can't see a theatre. Remember not all are going on to read the description, let alone the…
-
Which of the criteria do these meet ? Are they great places to explore, be social, or exercise?
-
With regard to your point 2, that really is the crux of the matter. The local community decided that those waypoints in the other thread were ineligible, and that should be that.
-
Well given that I see many actual fakes as well as huge numbers of ineligible wayspots live in game, I'd say you're probably reviewing correctly and not getting agreements because other reviewers aren't.
-
You can edit Google maps. However, I've just checked, and they don't seem to have any way to add a "viewpoint". You would have to class it as "Tourist Attraction".
-
OK so both these appear as viewpoints on the Walking Wheel Inner Circle map here: You could try adding them to Google Maps. It takes about a week for them to be approved (or not). Also, you haven't shared your full nomination, but what was your title? Giving them official-sounding names and emphasising the viewpoint angle…
-
It's up to you to convince viewers that these are recognised viewing spots and actual destinations and not just benches. You will probably need to provide evidence to back up your claims. I can see the Westbury white horse from a viewing point nearby but there's one of those actual things on a stone pillar (is it called a…
