Honestly things that I can get accepted without a fight are a draw for me... Like playgrounds, informational/educational signs and artwork. I love creating new waypoints, but getting them rejected for silly reasons before being accepted makes the process annoying and stressful rather than informative and fun. The things I…

I didn't know the reviewing area would be so large when I set things up, because I set it all up at the start. I set my home town to where I live (I grew up here) and I set the bonus to where I lived for 2 years with work and know relatively well. The two towns are 90 miles apart. 99% of the things I review are from miles…

I love this nomination, and agree it meets new criteria very well, and sounds like a very cool place to visit. I think you wrote the submission very well, so it was bad luck it didn't pass. Good luck when you resubmit!

I prefer to think of the cultural significance as "is it important to the local community?" Parks are really important for exercise, socialising, and general mental health and wellbeing, so I rate them highly for cultural significance. Churches and other places of worship, I always 5* in this category, because they are…

If you want an EX gym, you'll need to have waypoints in your local parks, because EX gyms are made from waypoints that are in green spaces. Focus on finding and submitting eligible things inside of parks and other spaces that are dark green on your Pokemon Go game map. We can help with advice on your nominations if you…

I would accept a shopping mall that had places to sit and gather as a good place to be social. The mall is a destination for people to meet up at and spend time.

I guess I don't understand what you guys mean by socialising. To me it is obvious that a pub that isn't a good place to socialise will go out of business. You go there to sit, drink, chat, eat. The criteria doesn't say unique, it says a good place to socialise. But equally if it is the only one in town, it is pretty unique…

Here's an example of a pub that was recently accepted in my area, in case that helps? I didn't submit it but I did review it, it's within view in game when I'm at home. I can tell you this is just a standard pub - nothing particularly special about it to set it apart from other pubs, but it is definitely a good place to…

Oh I'm sorry! What would you suggest instead then? My suggestion can of course be improved upon but I believe its better than a 1 word description that was already tried. I don't know the area so I can't suggest anything more detailled, but I'd accept a pub written in that way in a low density area - it is common sense…

Any post with pictures takes a few hours to show up. That's normal!

Try the following... Title: Crossbarry Inn Description: Friendly pub serving fine local food Supporting information: A great place to socialise in our area, where locals go for a meal out and drinks with friends. It's an important part of the community. Include a link to website/facebook/menu

I've often linked this forum or criteria pages and mentioned that I believe something is eligible for reasons shown in links. I don't think that is abuse at all. I'd also say if it was a nice coffee house, I don't know why you'd only mention skip/reject as options because those are more likely to be eligible now!

Trainers, We have cancelled cool downs for anyone with a 'Great' rating and you'll get 1000 stardust per agreement! Let's get reviewing!

I can't help thinking if this was in a park it would have probably been accepted just called 'mushroom sculpture' or similar (we had something very similar but made of wood and in a park). If this is by a local artist/school project etc, you can add details of the artist and why it was installed there and that might help?…

Add a bunch of new friends from a global/national group and level up friendship for lots of XP. You can even play pvp for interactions rather than gifts if you can't get enough gifts to send out. Also throw excellent throws, 1000xp per catch that way! The XP will roll in super fast and you'll be 38 before you know it.

I love all the helpful comments suggesting that it's probably the phone not the buggy game... Sounds like something Niantic support would say. Because we all know the game is perfectly functional ;) This happens to me too. I believe my phone has 6GB RAM and mainly just has PoGo and maybe Discord open. It happened earlier,…

Am I the only one who saw it and immediately thought it was a Chapel, and saw the cross on the roof which makes it quite obvious? Looks exactly like a little church to me. I don't understand why you think it looks like a shed on a farm...

Trails can be hundreds of kilometres long. Our big named trail in the area is 300km long, so of course multiple signs can be accepted - it would be very silly to only have one at the start! I would say a sign at each junction is easily acceptable without getting silly and having a sign every few metres. But honestly I like…

For the dinosaur: I would make sure the support picture shows both the bus stop and the dinosaur, even if they aren't easy to get in the same shot... I'd also see if it can be brighter to make the details clearer. I'd also re take the main picture without the decorations in a couple of weeks. However, people really do seem…

I submitted a local independent bike shop about 10 months ago that hosts a cycling club and is the go-to place for all cyclists in the area - it's got a great reputation. That was also rejected as a local business even though I made it clear that it was a hub for the local cycling community and base for this cycling club…

I'd say a clubhouse for a local group could be eligible because it's somewhere to socialise and has some cultural importance. A train station should be eligible because transport connections are also culturally important, and it aids in exploration to have these public transport connections. However, this does look like a…

An equestrian centre offering lessons etc should be eligible under "a great place to exercise" If you post some screenshots of your nomination we can try to help you improve it in case there is anything we notice that can help. We have all had decent nominations rejected in the past, it's very frustrating, but often if you…

Yes, there is probably too much risk for nasty comments, particularly in cases where the submitter is known in an area and is targeted by other players which can be the case. Also there are kids who play these games, and it wouldn't do for them or their parents to get nasty swearing messages just because they submitted…
-
I used to write something until I realised that the submitter won't ever see the comment so now I don't write anything

I had a case like this where there were 2 trail marker signs relatively close to each other, (the path left the road and zig zagged down a bank to join the towpath, with a marker by the road and another by the water) and reviewers moved my submission to the incorrect sign, presumably just because that one was on street…

I've been sharing the comments from Casey on this thread every time I see people spreading the story about scanning leading to stops being removed, and asking them to remember that using an official source of information is really important... but unfortunately it seems like people would prefer to believe the conspiracy…
-
That's a really wierd one, but I'd just accept it (it looks perfectly eligible) and then a local player can add an edit in English once it arrives in the games.
-
If its in the grounds of the church, you'd be best off taking the picture from within the grounds, without the fence in the way, and use the support information and support picture to show that it's part of the church grounds (ie get the church in the picture too)
-
There must be places to nominate at the monastery... A standard gas station isn't eligible.

I think the rewards are really nice. A TM or an Incense for 60 seconds of my time is well worth it. I never understand when people say they scan the pavement not the object. If I don't want to do it properly, I just don't do it. If I have time, I'll do the task, but I'll do my best to do it well.
