Signing up for Ingress is really easy once you download the app, gives you access to the intel map too, which shows you every wayspot in an area. Incredibly useful.
-
Not every approved Wayspot will show up in Pokemon GO. Have you checked to see if the Wayspots show up in Ingress? If they show up in Ingress, they probably share an S2L17 cell with an existing Pokestop, and won't show up in Pokemon GO on purpose. If they do not show up in Ingress, it is possible they were positioned too…

Main language could be a nice idea. Setting a main language as a submitters and having your noms mainly reviewed by people who share your main language as a reviewer would be helpful. But it would need to be an toggle-able option for people who travel between countries a lot and like to submit.

Were there any announced plans to translate it? What langauage did you want it translated to?
-
If you would provide location data for Niantic to look into, maybe they could do something about it.

Whenever the next AMA rolls around, I hope I can hop on it early so I can ask exactly this. This is an issue that has prveented so many people from reviewing. When I started OPR, My rating stayed at "good" for the first couple hundred or so before going up to "great" and I was so worried before that because I had no…

In cases like this, google maps helps a ton. If that artwork is on google earth (Non user-submitted sphere) or satelite view, even if it's small, it's reasonable to assume it's not temporary.

One of the big problems with wayfarer is too many people starting out get hit with a fair-poor reveiwer rating because they have a ton reviews ton but very few finished evaluation. This happened to multiple people I knew. Get access to Wayfarer Read up on criteria and pass the test Review a bunch and get knocked down to…

I’ve noticed I’ve been getting hit with cool downs more often lately as well. I’ve been doing the standard stuff, (take longer to review, take some breaks in between a lot of similar reviews, etc.) but sometimes I just get a bunch of similar things in a row and get slapped down with one. If the way cool downs being applied…

If niantic wanted more gyms and stops, they'd change the game so more games and stops to be incorperated. Not sure why you want to give Niantic your money so bad, you're willing to break their rules to do it.
-
Wow, better hope Niantic doesn't actually look at this report or else you'll lose all your stops there.
-
Above post is pretty much the only way to do it. Niantic hasn't put PTC account access for wayfarer on their roadmap, ever.
-
There’s already widespread abuse by people who want a bunch of fake Wayspots. Plus if you balance the rewards well, most people who might fall to abuse would rather just purchase the in game currency or do something like spoof if they were going to cheat the system.
-
You can use the online form to report abuse https://niantic.helpshift.com/a/wayfarer/?p=web&s=requesting-wayspot-modification-or-removal&f=reporting-abuse-in-wayfarer&l=en Or you can report it here on the forum by tagging niantic staff and hoping they look at it.

What you're suggesting isn't really removing, but reforming the categories. I think having multiple ways to rate the criteria of a submission is good, and the current system would very much benefit from reforming them. When Wayfarer was released to PoGO players, there was an influx of Poketubers making review videos…
-
Closing off submissions may prove counter-productive for the backlog though. When submissions are inevitably brought back, there could be a huge influx of anything and everything submitted because people think it will only be for a limited window.
-
You may benefit by going to the Criteria Clarification or Nomination Improvement section of the forum and share your whole nomination to see if there's any feedback you could solicit to improve your nomination. Otherwise making a post about how you're going to quit may get lost in the many made multiple times by people…
-
They make okay nominations (I've gotten a few in the USA approved) but can be a hard sell some places. I usually have to make a good supporting statement about them being travel hubs with tourist info about the local area to get them approved.
-
True, but the extra perks for switching to global mode will have to be really enticing for people to use it, and Niantic has historically been very stingy about any perks for using wayfarer. Plus, the people who would only review well to abuse stuff locally could also just switch to global mode to review the geofenced for…

There's been a lot of speculation and evidence that the way the current system works is that the higher rating you are, the more submissions you get to review from outside your area. To help prevent abuse, it might make more sense to do the reverse. You get a lot from a large area, and then when you have a better rating…
-
Considering there's a really good explanation here that seemed to fit what everyone was seeing for their featured wayspots, I'd like to hear it from Casey or someone from Niantic.
-
Can you expand upon top two voted portals in ingress? Does that mean from the most recent set of approved wayspots, these two had the highest rating when reviewed? Or does it mean they have the most likes on their photos in Ingress?
-
That's the guy. I've reported a ton of his submissions on wayfarer for abuse (using support to tell people how to review, linking to fake criteria and lying about criteria, submitting graves calling them statues, editing google maps to make schools looks like parks, etc). He never got dinged to my knowledge and many of his…

Even as recently as December i had to make a forum thread about features Wayspots by a known abuser that ended up being at a k-12 school. Not to mention that people having to go through the forum to report things are now being threatened with abusive rejections and reports against hem them. Reminds me of how on the Ingress…

What really frustrates me is the lack of social media presence was even taken advantage of before. Remember when the Facebook page was doling out criteria clarifications saying they were talking directly with @NianticCasey-ING, but refused to say where and refused to show proof of conversation? And people believed it…
-
I do really wish Niantic would take a more hands-on approach with Wayfarer community management. They have no presence anywhere aside from this forum for that, aside from the time they had to scold the Facebook group. And even then, you still have people on facebook pages, subreddits, discords, etc either completely not…

Bigger oof.
-
Big oof. For those of you watching at home: Niantic doesn't aknowledge the cell system. Officially, the stance is, paraphrasing, "Not every wayspot will show up in every Niantic property." And trying to manipulate Wayspots in a way to make them show up is considered, drumroll please,
-
There is a lot of abuse being reported and dealt with by the team, it could be taking up a lot of time. Maybe once it;s dealt with we'll have more AMAs?

This literally has nothing to do with the idea of a separate wayfarer app, Kellerrys. Once again, no mention of how this would be different with downloading a wayfarer app aside from maybe not having to take a few seconds to register an account. This is a good point. My big worry is if there was a wayfarer app for…
