  • Lol @tehstone-ING 's advice about getting on the first page of questions more relevant than ever. Also, will voting end on the 27th (5 days after) or the 30th (posted here). Or is the 30th when you expect to have the answers posted?
  • You're going to have to try to move it using the in-app edit contribution feature first. If that gets rejected, you can appeal it in the location edit appeals section of the forum.
  • Oh man, I remember there was a lot of back and forth about this going on in this thread. I can see why you'd want that clarified. Especially since previous AMAs have stated 2* is treated as negative and that a nomination with 2* across the board is rejected but nothing on the wayfarer site really confirms this. I think a…
  • Same. I'm surprised this even is being announced on the forum in English TBH. I I'm curious by what method NianticTintino is participating. Home location, bonus, or being in person. Also, @NianticTintino, the link that the Pokemon GO Brazil twitter account links back to for the challenge is dead.
  • Man you can really tell from these responses that this is the first AMA in a year, and people really want it to go well. Hopefully it starts to mellow a bit with future AMAs when they're more frequent and scheduled.
  • From the initial AMA post: Once voting is done, 15 questions will be selected and sent to our team for responses. So sounds like it'll be the whole team and not just Tintino
  • It sounds like a better way to do it than the old method. Though to clear up any confusion for people who aren't as active on the forum, it may help to make another annoucnement for this specific AMA that voting has begun when it starts. Fingers crossed it works out well. Do you have any comments about how you'll handle…
  • Yeah, something that break precedent like that would best be clarified at the begining of the AMA. Otherwise many people who reated to posts who think they have already voted may not come around to vote again once voting is actually open. Hopefully there's some form of announcement thread when voting opens so people don't…
  • Insightful, Disagree, Like, etc. will not count as a vote. How will the voting process work? Is it something baked into Vanilla Forums or will there be a separate form to vote for things on? Will similar/same questions be grouped together so duplicate questions don't take up multiple spots?
  • Are regular birdhouses even eligible? Like, if it was decorative or particularly nice looking, I see it as eligible, but it feels rude to just go up to a place an animal lives if it's a regular old one. There isn't really anything on the birdhouses/insect hotels that say they are meant for people to gather around or admire…
  • submitting again so please make greenhouse this time, no fortress, thank you
  • I think it fell victim to the pandemic lockdowns. Had an early release right around the start of COVID spreading and the CWE team probably didn't want to release it while lockdowns and restrictions were going on. Wish I got the chance to play it, it sounded real interesting.
  • Gonna note to new AMAers that disagrees weren't counted as "downvotes" in the past. Dunno if that trend will continue with this AMA but just a heads up for those who haven't been around for previous ones. Also why the heck disagree react to Tintino? I do not understand that.
  • Well yeah, you had heart eyes. I didn't get to have cool shades OR be a furry.
  • While ideally, nominators and reviewers would look at wayfarer criteria to figure out what to nominate, most nominators look to existing wayspots. Things like non-notable gravesites, not very socially centered chains/franchises, etc, that don't meet existing criteria, but also wayspots that Niantic opts not to remove even…
  • Can we get more avatar options for the forum? I would love to have a cool queer one like yours. On that note, can we change the default avatar for the forum so it's not a grey face? The ingress forum has the Ingress Prime logo, and I feel like it really improves the style.
  • Last comment on the first page, nice!
  • Is there any information you can provide about incentivizing players to join or be more engaged with Niantic Wayfarer outside of medal tiers and country-specific events? Stuff like in this thread or more frivilous things like cosmetic rewards for wayfarer/niantic social profiles that you can show off?
  • With the criteria refresh, do multiple disc golf markers count as eligible as they direct people on a course? What about course maps with details on each section? As opposed to the just the whole course.
  • There is a well known problem with the Wayfarer Rating for new Wayfinders where most will be rated "poor" after the first few reviews, only for it to improve when these reviews finish evaluating. This discourages a lot of new reviewers because they think they are just doing a bad job. Is the Wayfarer team aware of this…
  • Why is it set up that Good/Great reviewers receive the majority of their reviews from outside their reviewing range, while Poor/Fair get mostly from their own area? Wouldn't it make more sense for Good/Great reviewers to get reviews from their own area at a higher priority while Poor/Fair get them from farther away in…
  • What does the wayfarer team see an an acceptable amount of time to wait for a new Wayspot to be approved or Rejected? Are you seeing the current Wayfarer Process meet those expected turnaround times? If not, what are you trying to speed up these wait times?
  • Would you say that receptions sites in general that have tourist information about a town like maps, information, and brochures would also make a good nomination?
  • Yeah, the few that said "REJECT unless" were basically daeth knells for those things. I talked to so many people back in the day that were convinced you should reject every memorial bench no matter what. Though I do wish they'd bring the [\part back about apartment/development signs. Thanks for transcribing all of it!
  • The good ol' CAG. The wayback machine archive of the G+ didn't have everything that was on the CAG page on the OPR site. It's missing a small intro of what kinds of areas are good and bad. This is all I have left of it, I have no idea why it's a jpeg but it is.
  • The old candidate action guide from OPR said they were good nominations Candidate: Survey Marker Policy: Accept Suggested Vote: ★★★★ ACCEPT if on a trail or helps you explore the location. Falls under the criteria of off-the-beaten-path tourist attractions. Ever since the move to wayfarer, they've haven't been mentioned as…
  • That's one strangely eloquent child.
  • If you an ingress account, you can grab the GPS coordinates with a portal link from the intel map.
