  • Try reaching out to Pokémon GO rather than a Wayfarer group.
  • They do not need to be cropped in any way, although there does reach a point where the ratio is unnecessary. But on photo alone this candidate should not be rejected for orientation. That's a likely native aspect ratio used by some phones.
  • I understand my situation may have been different, but I nominated a dozen markers in a wooded (out of date Satellite) area in Northern Michigan and they all sailed through. If you provide enough detail, I think reviewers tend to be more favorable than if you don't bother trying. You can also use apps to combine photos…
  • Elaborate about why the classmates found this student important to them. Even a traditionalist should be aware that criteria stated "...significant to the community" and if you can help reviewers understand how somebody was significant they'll be more likely to approve. Spend time learning and sharing that information. I…
  • To be fair, though, strictly speaking that 1 person is right. If the Wayspots no longer accurately represent the location, they meet removal guidelines. That's not to say even I always completely abide by that, at least until I know more about what's next for the land. Even something as simple as temporary construction,…
  • Without making an opinion on the photos removed in your situation, I can confirm a local experience where a friend reported an ineligible 3rd party photo (taken from Wikipedia) for a recently approved Wayspot. Niantic added the same photo in your examples. This is local to me.
  • And as a follow up to the update. A fix is coming soon, but we were asked told to be sure to add "tm" to the soon.
  • I'm actually smarter then that. *than
  • The very first sentence is entirely inaccurate. You're still using "Niantic says this" when they never did. I read past that line and more or less agreed with your follow-up, but you set the stage with a false statement ready to be misinterpreted by anyone looking for proper advice.
  • Niantic has said that there should only be one park sign to represent the park. This is an inaccurate representation of what was said. The exact wording was: In order for multiple entrances to the same park to be considered eligible, they would need to be either unique and differentiate-able from one another or far enough…
  • I don't think this can be elaborated until closer to going live Yes, some, but less influence than we should have Can you please elaborate on this? What you mean by bias?
  • That's a goal. Don't forget a lot of the current Ambassador team frequently uses the chat, the online form, and the Wayforum so we're versed with limitations of each and we're not shy at sharing the dirt about the shortcomings.
  • Keep in mind, @Axino-PGO, we're trying our best to share what we can and support communication but have to be careful that we say. We are NOT speaking directly for Niantic and we've (I've) stated commitments made to us that then never panned out.
  • Keep in mind that, although it isn't perfect, you can use the Help Chat to handle appeals on invalid Wayspots, often with much faster results.
  • I do genuinely think they care. It is something we've poked a lot at, whether we can elaborate more on that or not, but there's more people in the room poking the issue, now too. I know it sucks and honestly I can't say enough to you, knowing you've actually dealt with it. But they do know and do want to fix it.
  • I think the system in place to implement suggested location changes is easier than text changes which could be a lot more dynamic. I think a workflow system where it could get kicked back to the submitter faster and with more intuitive text would be better. Something like: "Your nomination may meet criteria but currently…
  • I'd probably group them with "industrial sites" and reject them under "Obstructs emergency services."
  • In threads I've created in the past I've flagged my own original post to moderation with a request similar to: As the original content poster I request this thread be closed.
  • I hope you weren't part of this, but there's some pretty gross abuse going on with Wayspot placement here.
  • This gives me hope 😁 thanks for letting us know.
  • Iowa isn't all corn. We also love soy fields and hog farms. Sometimes people want(need) a place to vent and express their frustration with community reviewers and with Niantic reviewers. If SilverLyra wanted to improve this nomination, it would be posted in Nomination Feedback and we could offer feedback and suggestions…
  • There's been suspicion for a while that nominations flagged for abuse may get held up in the process until Niantic finds them and decides what to do with it. It's possible this happened to you but I don't know how anyone of us could verify it and prove it. While considered art, it is possible somebody mat have thought "not…
  • One thing that's gonna be difficult is anything Pokémon related is immediately going to put a lot of reviewers off because they might think anything "Pokémon" related is an insta-reject for using "in game terminology," however as long as you aren't saying "a great place to spin and get items" and keep it strictly to "real…
  • I'm a little confused by some of your verbiage being used. You were there, physically on-site, and you nominated it in Ingress. If this was a Courts of the World import, those do not show up in Ingress but they do indeed show up in Pokémon GO (and the Wayfarer app). It should NOT be appearing as a Portal as you've said…
  • It's uncommon but not rare that a property manager or owner will request Pokémon GO be blocked from the geographical location. This happens sometimes at churches or parks where gathering Trainers have been seen as a "nuisance." There are other reasons but very rare and difficult to get a straight answer. You could try…
  • Basically, the more text is used the smaller the photo ends up. Avoid the photo size issue or avoid seeing your own submissions?
  • I'm glad you found that article because it pops up every year or so on the Wayfarer Discussion Discord server I'm in. Debate always ensues on if this falls under "generic and uninteresting mass produced corporate art" with some of the loudest saying "Niantic explicitly says that's ineligible" while ignoring that this is…
  • In Ingress? Not that I can remember. Tap the center circle button and you should have Settings, Events...Nominations appear on the top right. Nominations won't show up if you have bad GPS and sometimes I have to restart the app. They added the Wayfarer test as a requirement to submit a bit ago, you may need to log into…
