We have no idea how Niantic picks rejection criteria to send. Some rejection reasons are easy to send accidentally, but you can't get to fake without deliberately choosing abuse first. The sign on street view looks like an older one than what's in your photo but that doesn't constitute a fake.
-
@TheFarix-PGO I never NEED to know the street address but it's often useful... especially knowing what city it's in. Past experience has taught me that there are a few cities in my area where I need to vet more aggressively because of an explosion of fakes and it's nice to know if I'm looking at one of those areas when I…

In maybe April or May of 2020 (I'm too lazy to look up the dates) Niantic had a promotion that gave double Recon points in Ingress for each agreement. I think I remember a time when edit agreements counted for PoGo stats but not for Ingress.
-
@Shilfiell-ING I do that sometimes, and it's a pain in the keister.
-
You can log into Wayfarer and check your contributions page to see if they are there. Also, check to see if they got marked as spam. Bear in mind it can take from days to years to get a response for your submission, so not getting an approval or rejection after a few weeks is nothing to worry about.
-
@TheFarix-PGO I've pretty much gotten used to it. One of the benefits: In the previous version we couldn't click on the dots in satellite view to identify duplicates. It's a bit buggy but now we can.
-
@Babarushki-PGO What do you mean by "location maps are no longer available to reviewers"?
-
Yes, losing the address is surprisingly painful but I'm not sure what you mean by "without a map." Can you clarify? Pro tip: Dropping street view guy onto the map tells you where in the world the thing is, approximately, although it depends on how close street view is to the object.

Going back through the comments here now that this has re-emerged. I don't think a dorm is eligible just for being a dorm-- a dorm is essentially an apartment building. Just like apartment buildings there can be things inside of dorms that qualify but I don't think the building itself is eligible just for being a dorm.
-
@Marshall0111-PGO I can socialize, explore, or exercise literally anywhere. For example, I talk to my neighbors in my building's elevator. I check out the cool art that people put on the walls of the elevator. I do isometric and balance exercises while I'm in the elevator. None of those things make that elevator eligible…

One of the factors at work here is that both submitters and reviewers often use what they see in the games as a reference for what is and isn't acceptable. Every area has wayspots that wouldn't qualify under current standards, either because they were accepted under older criteria or they were accepted erroneously. People…
-
@Marshall0111-PGO Nobody would deny that there's inconsistency. However, "There are other non-qualifying wayspots in the game so my non-qualifying wayspot should be accepted" isn't an argument that holds water. First, people have been submitting wayspots for a decade now (my oldest submission is more than nine years old)…

@Elijustrying-ING I review exclusively on a desktop, turned autoscroll off ages ago, and haven't had any issues.
-
@tp235-ING Aha! I understand. Another option is to have a background process that continuously scans the playfield looking for abnormalities. It could either clean them up itself or send a proposed cleanup to a human for review and implementation.
-
@tp235-ING Hrmm. Isn't the game board being manipulated by updating the Lightship database? There may be something else going on but I thought this was being done through wayspot edits and voting cabals.
-
@TWVer-ING Duly noted. However, that doesn't undermine the core statement that rejection reasons are often unreliable information.
-
@Marshall0111-PGO Rejection reasons aren't always reliable information. Sometimes reviewers accidentally click the wrong reason, sometimes Niantic throws in random ones. However, in this case I think that the real rejection reason is (in English) "Other rejection criteria". This is completely unclear to people seeing it…
-
@SmurfDaddy8660-ING You basically can't, though if you really need to you can create a composite photo. Pedestrian safety is super important but it's surprisingly rare that you need to prove it in a supporting photo. Most things have safe pedestrian access by definition, e.g. an active playground or anything else in a…

I would love it if anyone with a minimum of some X agreements (like a couple thousand) and a great rating could use an upgrade to change their bonus location. That way it wouldn't be quite free but upgrades are super easy to get so basically you could change your bonus location by working for it a little bit.
-
The pictures are smaller during review than they used to be.
-
@P1dg3ySlayer-PGO Unfortunately phones don't generally give you control over the exposure triangle... they want to do everything for you. The rest of your advice is quite good.
-
@PeteC303-ING In this case the wayspots themselves are exquisitely high-quality ones in terms of the subjects. When California gets done with having atmospheric rivers I will probably go up for a tour and submit a bunch of photos.
-
@AlexMTG-PGO Yes, the map view is absolutely useful. It has lots of identifying information that doesn't appear on satellite view.
-
I'm glad that we got a lot of the backlog cleared out in Indonesia but I was so busy reviewing that I didn't realize until I got the reward email that the challenge had ended... and now I seem to be stuck in Indonesia for a year. @NianticTintino-ING Wouldn't it have been better to leave everyone in Indonesia with an…
-
I don't have the ability to change my bonus location either. I also don't seem to be able to ask support because I have a request pending.
-
It's absolutely possible to get something newer than street/satellite view accepted but you need to help reviewers out a lot. You should use your supporting information to give reviewers the assistance they need in confirming the location. If you can get a street sign in your supporting photo that corresponds to streets…

I just got two more back-to-back. One was Held by Desire, and the other (screenshot below) is Composition with Long Verticals. The links go to the detailed pages for the sculptures.
-
@AlexMTG-PGO You don't have the street view guy? @000GreenBttm18-PGO "won't be useful to them in anyway (sic)" is short-sighted thinking. Won't be useful right now doesn't mean that it won't be useful in a year or five.
-
@HunterNate23-PGO Why would someone review wayspots for a game they don't play? That's easy. I review because it's fun to do, and it's a great way to explore all over the world without leaving home. When I review wayspots I neither know nor care what current or future games they might appear in. It's unlikely that I'll…

@AlexMTG-PGO Street view isn't lost. All three views are in one map and it's easy to switch between them.
